Today we will be studying Item number SCP-796: River Cat, Object class: Euclid.
SCP-796 is a condition whereby an affected individual begins to perceive a large feline entity in their peripheral vision. While the majority of subjects have described the entity as unusually large and dark-coloured, separate accounts of its shape, exact size, and overall body structure have been inconsistent.
Affected subjects will often experience a strong sense of paranoia and dread, largely assumed to be a result of the entity's constant presence. Notably, visual hallucinations experienced by affected subjects often correspond with manifestations of SCP-796's physical effects.
All affected individuals will experience an event that will place them in acute mortal danger within a month of first experiencing SCP-796's effects.

I have to say I'm actually happy ro hear him and hes cat escaped the foundation sometimes they can be to cruel at the foundation in the name of science so I'm glad a person actually got free of that with hes anomaly
I'm happy for him. The foundation only want to study and never help.
I feel the later ones try to change that. But the early ones can take it a few steps further and actively hurt so long as they can keep as many things in cages and boxes as possible.
You cant help someone if you dont understand what theyre dealing with. For all we know, the cat may be a reality bending parasite. Its killed all the people that it has interacted with through events of manipulated probability. It attached itself to 796-17 because he survived the latest incident the entity ever manipulated.
I liked this one. Simple and endearing.

Is it safe to say that this is the only SCP to ever escape containment along with its subject? Because there is no saying that they recaptured it or did they? I must say this SCP is by far the most interesting one.
There are plenty of scp's that arent even capable of being contained

Likely containment procedures are now something along the lines of "monitor but do not make contact"

There doesn't seem to be any record of scratches on the subject's hands and the drug packaging is not available for inspection.
But I'd guess it was trying to hinder him. Why else would he outlive the one month limit?
