As a former drug addict I’d like to say that never once while high did I decide to abuse anyone .. I’m so sick and tired of these evil monsters using the ‘drugs made me do it’ excuse

Me too I am sick of it. I was an abused child in so many ways and an addict at one time. I'm in recovery now. I hate that excuse. She needs to stay right where her nasty ass is. I also do not like the way they treat females vs males. These women are demons

So are the professionals who deal with addicts and criminals - especially those who deal with persons who are both of those things. I was in my first social work placement when I encountered someone who did things I cannot go into for legal/privacy reasons but suffice it to say she was just such a person as you refer to. Her child suffered beyond words and "drugs made me do it." It was hard to treat her the same as everyone else, not gonna lie. I'm convinced that was the point of our first student placements - not the actual social work stuff but the learning how to emotionally handle really horrific things, both in how we handled the person at the moment and also how we dealt with it when we left work.

Prayers out to those who are in recovery and those who are trying to find a higher power. I love you all and if you need help reach out, there are others all around you who need help from drug addictions or any other addictions have a blessed day. Love you all.

Her condition is from being in prison. We have no idea what her condition was before going to prison. But you very well could be right that she was in good condition upon arrest.
Something that was really damning to me was the rest of her children were being taken care of. She had a 16 year old she raised up and she also small children that she was feeding, bathing, changing, etc. EDIT: omg I just realized the child was 15, that is so awful. How long that child probably suffered.
Unfortunately in some families where a parent is abusive they choose one child to be a scapegoat for their abuse. It can be for any reason, like disliking the father, the gender of the child, or in this case because the child is disabled.. so many things.

@@S30088 We do have dress codes in court, but this isn't actually in court. It's a probation and parole hearing, and their regular prison attire is what they wear to hearings as they attend in the facility. Some of them wear jumpsuits with stripes, especially in revocation hearings from the parish jail (our equivalent of county jails, we don't have counties in Louisiana), before they've been sent to the state Department of Corrections. The mask is because this was during covid, and they wouldn't let the inmates remove them. It's stupid and masks were a joke during covid, but those were the mandates from the state. If you have a special needs child at home who’s totally dependent on your caring for them (or anyone being cared for at home regardless of age), it should be a requirement for them to have regular medical assessments to assure quality of care. Also, it doesn’t matter whether someone is able to communicate or what level their mentality is at, they still feel the same pain, anguish and discomfort as the rest of us. I’ve been sober for 5 years. After 8 years in the 82nd 1st/504th I spent the next decade self medicating. I experienced jail and state prison and dozens of rehabs and half way houses. Burned plenty of bridges and left a trail of chaos and pain. Today I am so grateful for the little things and am even grateful for having the ability to make amends to those I have harmed. Not everyone forgave me and that’s their right, all I can do is take care of my part in the situation. Projecting your drug addiction onto the abuse of a child is absolute nonsense. It doesn’t cost any money to surrender them for adoption, she clearly knew what she was doing. The entire decade I wasted using various hard drugs, you better believe I made conscious decisions knowing that they were going to cause harm and or/pain and loss, I just didn’t care. However I’m completely accountable for each and every thing I did. I’m so sick of it being used as a crutch. We treated Iraqi detainees exponentially better than this woman treated her OWN CHILD. Think about that.

I am also a military vet-retired from the 101st in 2013 after a pretty bad final deployment. And then I spent the next few years self medicating after a civilian doctor told me there was no way they could write the scripts the army happily had me on for the last 6 years of my career. I didn’t understand that what came from the doctor could be just as, if not more, dangerous than what I would have considered “drugs.” It took me years to accept that I was an addict. I also went through the wringer trying to straighten myself out. And even after I finally got clean, I hid myself away from the world. I was just a so ashamed and off balance. Kids with disabilities are too much to handle and place which means more work for the caseworker so they just allow horrific things to happen to them. I can not honestly explain how much rage I have inside me after reading your comment. #1 I am a mother of a son who would be considered special needs. He has bipolar, adhd, behavioral issues and learning disability. He was as they say alot to handle and exploded very easily without warning. I also have 4 grandsons with autism. Each one of them show some of the same and different characteristics of autism with a wide range of severity. I can not fathom the idea of someone hurting any of them in any way. But if somthing did happen everyone of my babies deserves the same as any other child period. #2 Each and every person who failed to investigate these crimes souly because these babies was special needs should loose their job and get their ass kicked. #3 When people try to help keep kids safe, make reports and follow what needs to be done yet are faced with this BS they give up. Im not saying you did or them giving up on trying to help is the right thing to do but they get discouraged. #4 They refuse to help kids with special needs because they are hard to place yet they go after parents for some of the dumbest shit with the average child. Tell me how this makes sense. Thank you for doing everything you could to help these babies. Thank you for not getting discouraged feel defeated and give up. Thank you for being these babies safe place, their voice and their advocate. This world could use more amazing people like you. At the end of the day I can only imagine how their stories impacted you and your mental health. Granted, that is the minority of States that go to that level, but in majority Judges will issue based upon 'probable cause' & that's a pretty low standard, incl. solely upon the testimony of a 'reliable source' or Court/LEO.

Why they being so nice? Bich was proven to be nasty. Don't matter how much education this monster gets. She still did that to the child. Keep her locked up and throw away the keys. Forget she exists

Make her remove her mask! She's 6 feet away from the other people and that shows she's ashamed of herself.

I am so tired of DCFS or any child protective services not doing their damn job! That poor boy can’t help himself, and obviously couldn’t rely on his mother to help him either.

No access to children she can abuse = no writeups. It's not commendable, Mrs. Wise.

I was active in my addiction for years and still managed to keep it together and not be gross. Doing the blame game is like saying you were possessed.

This is absolutely just no remorse. If the drugs really took control of her and now she’s clean and loves her child then give him peace of mind and don’t ask for release

I'll never understand how America thinks selling drugs is worse than abusing kids.😢😢😢😢😢

We had a similar case here in Texas, I believe Hutchins TX. No one even knew the little girl existed in the trailer park they lived in. It was finally the step father that called for help. The child was locked in a dark closet under similar circumstances. Both mother and step father were incarcerated. They crazy thing was there were other children in the home. I believe iirc that the girl was conceived outside of her marriage and she resented the child. She was tiny, and severely emotionally harmed. These parents should never see freedom, just like their children will never be free from the horrors.

I haven’t even finished listening nor have a read comments and I am shaking. First, there are a lot of fine hard working people with HIV who are not on disability (although if it does severely impact ability to work I’m in favor). I happen to be disabled and it’s a hard fight for anyone nor is it guaranteed in most cases. This woman would game the system.
There is no insight here. She couldn’t name a single lesson learned. She has no explanation, no remorse, nothing. I know I’ll probably add more once I’m finished but I felt like my head was going to blow off so I took a break. Ffs. Drugs don’t make you evil.

Her little son wants her to stay in prison so she should serve out every day! He’s the victim! Stop blaming drugs!! Your an abusive mother. Her response sounds so scripted. He will be less afraid if she stays put & he deserves all of the peace of mind he can get. Imagine what that filthy house looks like. Disgusting.

These workers are supposed to actually look at the children head to toe. They don't need a team of medical professional to see that the juvenile in question was emaciated and neglected. The problem you get is that the case workers go into the homes and lie on their paperwork😅😅. The Supervisor stated that centralizing the records would help so that notes are done online , but that won't make any difference if they lie about what they do during their visits. No one set eyes on this boy and the records stated "no visible signs/symptoms of neglect or abuse". The case worker assigned to this case needs to be held accountable. Those notes are considered legal documents and when they lie on them they need to charged with a felony and maybe this balogna would stop happening. The government opened these agencies and not only are these parents abusing the welfare programs, but so are the social workers and children are the ones paying the price.
