  • In this video I fit an undermount sink in the kitchen area of a Mercedes Sprinter minibus camper conversion (See links below for items used). The kitchen area of the minibus conversion has been fitted with a real wood work top so to add a more professional & styling look to the kitchen, I carry out the installation of an undermount kitchen sink under the real wood worktop. After the under mounted sink is fitted to the worktop, I fit a mixer tap for hot & cold water which alter between a jet and a shower head. The water is fed to the tap with semi-rigid pipe using John Guest speedfit connections. The sink waste is plumbed directly to a waste water tank mounted under the bus. The hot water is fed from a Truma Ultrastore water heater. Once everything is fitted and the tap is tested, I think it looks very smart and gives a professional feel to the conversion.

Great choice! Polyurethane adhesive not silicone which is over and wrongly used. Great install.

Thanks, yes I never use silicone for anything in a van, always a good adhesive/sealant instead

Hi there. Could you please advise what the "converter from BSP to 12mm pipe" (for linking the tap pipes) is actually called please? I don't know what part to select when I follow your link to ebay. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, I am waiting to install water in my camper and I have doubts about using this system or 10mm and 16mm thick braided hose. Given your experience, what do you recommend? Thank you

I’ve always used 10mm John guest fittings and pipework

I have changed the stem on the showr. Then the one for th cold water. I had to special order the diverter becaue it was so old. Then I replaced the stem for the cold water. Everything seemed all good at first but for the past week or so the cold water has startd leaking. The cold water stem is a newr version so Im thinking I might need to special oder that one, too. Might as well get 1 for the hot water while Im at it. Can you tell me what the differecne is between Delco 3S-8H/C and a 3S-9H/C? IDK if one is bigger round than the other or if one is a bit longer than the other? Im not a plummer kind of person and learning as I go!!
    Thank you for your time!!
    Sincerely,
    Fabo Lee, Sr.

Brilliant video..how do you switch the pump on and off using the tap? As the tap im looking at is the same as yours but doesn’t have a switch on it?

4 screws and sealant to hold the weight of the sink, litres of water and dirty pots? Would have been better to use a router to create a 5mm recess, then use batons to give the support it is going to need. Even if the screws hold the weight could bow the sink and it’ll leak. Please seal the wood where you cut to extend its life and stop it swelling.

I call it sealant but its actually extremely high strength adhesive / sealant. The adhesive I use would probably be strong enough to hold the sink while full on its own so I have no worries or concern about it. The wood treatment is ongoing
