LOL I know but even though that was a major fire there was a fire in my old building in the Projects on Lexington Ave & 98 th street a couple of years ago it was confined to one bedroom they busted out every window in the apt.Nobody got hurt it was an electrical fire in one of the sockets in that room.
WELL, I KNOW THIS MUCH THAT WHEN THEY BREAK OUT ALL THE WINDOWS THEY DO IT TO VENT THE FIRE AREA! HOWEVER, I GOT THIS FOR YOU ON THE INTERNET! HEHEHE! READ ALONG... Dangerous superheated gases need to be vented to allow firefighters to safely and quickly rescue trapped occupants and extinguish the fire. Venting the window (horizontal ventilation) of a room that is on fire, actually helps to contain the fire within that room of origin. Otherwise heated gases spread throughout the inside of the house. Breaking the window really prevents a great deal more damage than it appears to cause. Replacing broken glass is much less expensive than repairing structural damage from the fire.

Oh yeah that's right thanks i forgot in case if they have to get trapped residents out that way in case if the fire exit is blocked by heavy smoke and fire.Oh i understand now i forgot heat expands when it comes to glass.Thank you so much for the information.
not every window and they do that only if they are fighting the fire behind, so the steam can go out. This make vent so it may allow the fire to get more air from the stream created, if the fire is not suppressed at the same time results can be disastrous
