The Deliveroo rider was so calm, like he’d done that before 😂
It was his 4th time in one day
Wow, this is going to be insane. Definitely worth the wait and thanks for all the effort you put into these 😄
I’ve clearly set a challenge for myself
I'm always jealous when people hit the jackpot and get in your taxi - whenever I'm in London I'm constantly looking out for you :D
I do wonder how many peoples London experiences have been tainted by trying to keep up looking for me 🤪
Was there yesterday doing that exact thing lol, walking from eustion to the Emarites, and every cab i checked out like i will pay for the experience.
One day it will be me!
@@TomtheTaxiDriver for your sake, I hope it doesn't happen I'd be too fan girl lol
The father-daughter pair from Mexico can’t be the only ones who are delighted when they get a cabbie who is also a qualified guide. I’d certainly be pleased with that.
The history you know on these journeys is fantastic, Tom.
An entire week?! Let's go!!
These videos are my favourite type to watch, so engaging and fun
Thanks Tom.
As a Londoner (Paddington born and bred) who moved to Northern Ireland nearly 4 years ago and with a high degree of homesickness, these uploads help me on almost therapy-like levels with being homesick
Keep up the amazing work.
😂
I was stewarding at the royal funeral this week. The main things I was being asked was directions for people due to all of the road closures, and while I have a decent knowledge of London for a non-Londoner, without watching your videos, I would of had very little clue! So thanks for making these Tom, being able to name the major roads and landmarks to people for directions really did help!
I love being able to give directions, so glad this is as able to help!
I miss the chit chat between yourself and the passengers. Even as little as greeting the passengers and them letting you know where they want to go.
Turn into the ncp car park then come back out to make your way onto southwark bridge if you’re eastbound 😆
Quality content and production Tom. You are an incredible ambassador for London Cab drivers and the benefits of having “The Knowledge of London.”
Love these 'on the job' videos. Interesting and superbly illustrates the cabbie's knowledge.
Thanks Barry, it’s my attempt at trying to demonstrate what goes on inside my brain, and showing everyone why The Knowledge is still a vital part of London taxis.
11:56 I'd've done completely differently: Onslow Square, Exhibition Road, through the park, Sussex Gardens, Marylebone Road (my initial answer was Onslow Gardens and Queen's Gate).
3:30 I love these history facts! Keep up the awesome work!!!
I still miss Holborn viaduct station - childhood memories of getting the train to school.
I love what u do tom. U have great confidence and I love your videos. Was thinking of doing the knowledge as I know london very well. Think it will take me nearly 2 years as I've been in london for 25 years
I enjoy you penning the run on the map. Do you think you could do a shift an leave every run penned up an give wide view of everything/everywhere you went that day. Like a “heat map”
i like how every time when you say M&M the youtube auto subtitle says Eminem's world. When i first saw it i was like we have that in london?
Will now binge watch the rest of your working week Thomas.
31:39 I used to work in what is now the Pan Peninsular Hotel and 6/7 Grosvenor Place on the corner of Halkin Street and Grosvenor Place. What most people don't know is that the horse manure that the gardeners use for Buckingham Palace gardens is stored behind that wall on the left of the picture and boy did it smell when they turned it over in the Summer! Imagine paying for a room in that hotel and getting to experience that!
Your knowlledge, time and technical effort you put into these vids is amazing. Well done and thank you!
We need more day in the life videos and videos where it’a like each day of the week. There the best videos
Coming in April 😊. Please do ensure your notifications are on 😊
As a hakney driver myself in the Cotswolds I couldn't imagine being a cabby in London. 20mph speed limits everywhere, cameras, cyclists with cameras and endless traffic. Would drive me crazy.
Really interesting to see, huge respect to the London Cabbies
I love your videos they remind me of my rep days driving around London visiting catering departments for Mcdougalls Catering Foods - thanks x
Thanks for your uploads Tom love them! Was in London last week my misses kept saying why you looking at all the cabs I said I was looking out for Tom the taxi driver don’t think she was that impressed 😂. My taxi off the road hit badger £3000 worth of damage, badger got up shook its head and ran off!
Every thought about a meet and greet Tom? ✌️❤️
Made me laugh 😆
Thanks for my London tour, Tom! 😁
Great video as always
Not bad day for a Monday. Love that cut thru Hyde park st to get up to Paddington instead of sitting on Edgware rd
Great video Tom, I really hope that other taxi drivers are as conscientious as you are towards their passengers
Thank you.
Deep down, I believe yes. Although some drivers might not show this. Fundamentally, they want to get you there as quick and safely as possible🤗
Looking forward to this series. These are my favourite type of videos. Appreciate they take a huge amount of effort as well as putting in a shift in the cab.
love the long-form vids, they're great ot watch while working!
London is the most beautiful city in the world, we have the best transport networks and of course the best taxi service in the world
Lovely video again.
That cut behind Selfridge's man, I'll give it a go asap
Wish I had this knowledge of London, it'd make life so much easier 😭
This man deserves more subscribers.
I love these videos Tom. Such a relaxing thing to watch and your knowledge is off the scale. Keep up the great content mate 👌
THESE ARE MY FAVOURITE VIDEOS, LOVE YOU TOM KEEP IT UP
Yassss. Amazing. This is ideal content.
Good to see you back :)
If you had turned left into Theberton St and turned right onto studd st, keep going straight and you would've come to some barriers that way you can drop right outside citadines Islington then you leave by Amelia St.
Hi Tom been watching for a while when I’m older I wanna be a London cabbie so have you got any tips also great vids keep up the amazing work ❤
We can now do the left onto Oxford Street from Park Street 👌
Omg that biker flew😮
Did you tell that bike crash victim that you had it all on video and it would be on this channel? He really went flying.
@Zonda time?

Who was in the wrong there? Looks clearly like the delivery driver but would there be any issues with the cyclist being where he was? I don’t drive so not familiar with the roads 😅
@@GlasgowCelticFootballClub they both could have done better.
The delivery rider chose a bad place to cross as he’s obscured by the stationary traffic, and had poor observation as he did not continue to check BOTH directions whilst crossing.
The cyclist was going too fast relative to the stationary traffic, and did not anticipate likely hazards.
Stationary traffic is a time when pedestrians will often take the opportunity to cross the road, it’s also a time when cyclists will try to get to the front of the traffic.
The larger the road user/vehicle, the greater their responsibility of safety to other road users particularly those smaller than themselves.
@@RobertDoornbosF1 15:59
If you receive a tidy tip Tom, i'd invest in a hair brush👍😉
Haha, been having troubles finding a decent barber near me lol!
Great video Tom. Great to see your work 🎉
Dropped at ibis styles the other day nice little bay for drop off
Ok I got my London dose before work, and knowledge ofc. Thanks!
And that’s a week off entertainment sorted for me! Thank you for the dedication you put into these videos they fascinate me.
I can’t wait till the next episode! This is such a great series
PART 1 OF 5 YESSSSS THANK YOU TOM
Good to see you back fella!
And Motorcycles, don't forget us haha
Great video. A pedant writes, at 6:43 you are turning into Pentonville Road not City Road as you said.
Ahh balls, was supposed to Asterix that! Very well spotted!!
Ooooh 5 parts!!! Can’t wait!!!
Great episode, as always Tom. Thankyou.
Pleased to see more of this type pf content, looking forward to the rest of the week.
What about doing a video of a cabbie's opinion of the changes to the Highway Code earlier this year and what changes you've seen day to day?
One little detail that would add so much to these videos would be to put a timestamp when you pick up each passenger, or even one when they get off, you don't need to, but it would make it that much more interesting. Great video as always, looking forward to the next parts.
Yes! That is something I really need to add, does take a lot of time but will consider it for the next one.
@@TomtheTaxiDriver or find someone willing to do it for you in the comments and pin their comment 😂 can be amusing depending on the person picking the timestamps and what they decide to pick out
Epic video Tom, looking forward to the next instalments. Keep up the great work.
Come on Tom, we're all itching for the next episode 🤣 You need to work a few less hours and do some more editing 🤪 Stay lucky!
Editing is very long! Wish I could get them out faster!
keep up the good work 😎
Fantastic video Tom. Top class 👍
Fascinating!
You made my day tom, I love these videos.
I'm a mini cab driver and I know we're supposed to be sworn enemies but I do enjoy watching your videos.
No hate for minicab drivers, it's the big companies that are the problem, stiffing the drivers and making them have to work longer hours or ripping off the customer. End of the day everyone is just trying to earn their crust, and people just want to get around.
@@TomtheTaxiDriver straight facts bruv. Love
Super knowledge + super busy
Fantastic video, just been sightseeing in London, recognise so many places. Must take you so long to edit these films. 👍👍
Re-watching this for the 5th time because still waiting for part 5 to come out 👀
Fingers crossed next week!
@@TomtheTaxiDriver 👀
Tom I’ve often wondered if your knowledge of the streets and one way systems in particular is typical of a London cabbies knowledge. Because it seems exceptionally good to me. Also I would expect the constant weaving cyclists and traffic lights, pedestrians, cars etc to be all quite stressful, but you seem to take it in your stride quite cheerfully.
Cheers Tom! Great vid! A very relaxing 41 minutes! For me, anyway!
Another awesome video Tom! Thanks mate
Very profitable day I’m guessing 👍
That was super cool!
Sadly I can't binge anymore! :( I have seen all your videos! :)
Im just tryna find myself on your video haha I'm there the whole day on my motorbike, im sure i ll find it sometime
In many videos like these where it's someone driving/riding around, I try and see if I can spot myself too 🤣
Just what the doctor ordered! Settling in for some more entertaining content! You sir ... are a star!😁Have a good one.
Thank you 🙌🏻
Been waiting for a long vid like this 😅❤
More interesting content uploaded by Tom.
Great show!
Tom when is part 2 Liam in Ireland
Tomorrow
@@TomtheTaxiDriver thanks Tom can't wait very enjoyable
Did you work on the day of the queens funeral procession?
If so how do you or other cab drivers deal with the road closures
and other restrictions during these type of events?
I'm thinking if you've got to take a passenger via a longer route etc.
Great video, love the longer form content
You missed a job at 15.46 Tom 😂
4:16 how often does it happen where taxi drivers will still take that job even though there is a taxi waiting?
I mean, its income for you all so i guess its also a little competition within the taxi community?
Would like to hear your experiences
Nice!
Nice one
Very interesting video. 👍
One thing you could add is how long each journey took.
Waiting for episode two, three, four, five any idea how long I’ll be
Old classical car and tesla at 09:06
Looking forward to the rest of this series, you seem to make London look oddly small with your knowledge! 😆
Also just a thought but, have you ever found it's harder to find your bearings on a job during the later hours of the day? Might just be me as I'm not out and about at night, but it all looks different in the dark xD
Thanks Liam! It is incredible how small London becomes, yet somehow still big, once you complete The Knowledge.
I find that at night or later in my shift, I do struggle or overthink route calculation. But this is a combination of adapting to traffic changes (less traffic means you have more options) and a bit of fatigue.
Once I start over thinking route options, I know it’s generally time to go home.
Great vid!
Thank you. so interesting
sop that short journey how was the trip
Bell Wharf Lane …. ➡️⬇️⬅️⬆️⬅️
Great video. 5 star
Not sure being sent across the road because there's a cab on the rank is in the best interests of the passenger, what if they refuse, do you drive away.
Yea it is annoying and some passengers do get aggy about it. I usually try get the attention of the driver who can come to the opposite side of the road
Why does Albert bridge have a width restrictor at the start of the bridge?
Believe it’s the strength of the bridge
Great video, natural history museum tho and not the british museum?
That bike accident was pretty bad. Uber eats/Deliveroo cyclists are such a menace :(
the "arab boy" pub in upper richmond road!? i knew the old landlord there - nice old boy called Les. it's named after Yussef Sirrie, the middle eastern servant/boyfriend of local lawyer and property developer Henry Scarth who built the pub in 1849. Sirrie later became landlord of the pub after Scarth left his estate to him on his death
9:28 "knock a couple of quid off the meter" - just wondering, is the meter tied in to the card machine in the taxi? If so, do you have the ability to change the meter total manually?
Yes, I key in the amount manually to the machine. Most machines have an override function,
Gt Suffolk St Garage looks exactly the same as when i last used it 30 years ago is it in same place
I would presume so. Unfortunately the petrol station is now closed and no where near as busy as it was pre pandemic.
When is part 2 3 4 and 4 coming tom ?
They better be good!😂
