Her son WANTED to be in the relationship. Her son PERSISTED to be in the relationship. Her son made his own DECISION to not give up until he got what he wanted. Like it or not what he did was legal and of his OWN accord. So you people on here need to set your personal, individual feelings to the side. It was HIS happiness that HE pursued not his mothers. Get over it!!!!
I understand Naomi’s anger. I’d be raging too. I also understand Tommy’s decision to disown her for being so vindictive. Since his father warned him about her vindictiveness, it seems this is a pattern not exclusive to this incident..
@@unabruja624 It most definitely is not. Grooming is not knowing someone as a child and then fucking them when they hit on you as an adult. Grooming is GROOMING, using your influence over a person to manipulate them into sexual situations, convincing them that certain boundaries are okay to cross all with the express purpose of luring them into a sexual situation. Simone had no hand in Tommy's attraction to her nor was she ever nice to him with the intent of eventually having sex with him. He just got a crush on her and then chose to pursue it at a later age. You can call her consent of that crush weird, but you can't call it grooming.
Age is a number, Tommy was of legal age and he made the first move. She couldn't have been firm and strong and not given into him but, after years of no physical relations with her husband and finding out he was gay and cheating on her, she was emotionally vulnerable and gave into her needs, plus it was probably a way of getting back at the husband. On a personal note, nothing to do with sleeping with a friend's child but in keeping with age differences, my mother's parents married in the early 1900s they were 10 years apart...or so my grandfather told my grandmother. It wasn't until the early 1940s she sent away for his baptism records and discovered he was 15 older than her. They both came from French speaking families, so when he came home from work that day, she greeted him speaking French and saying "Good day grandfather" LOL
While Simone sleeping with Naomi's son might not be illegal it was highly morally questionable and overstepping serious boundaries. Simone had known him since he was a child which makes it just plain icky and a breach of trust. Just because he's considered a legal adult who pursued her and she's in a open marriage to a gay man doesn't automatically make it right. Can does not always mean should. They kept it a secret from Naomi which like always with secrets is huge clue they knew it wasn't totally right and would not be OK with her. Naomi might not have a say in who her son sleeps with but that doesn't mean she can't have her own feelings and issues about it when it involves someone she trusted as a friend for 15 years. That being said the way she went for revenge in outing the husband and his medical information was equally highly morally questionable and absolutely not the right way to go about it either . Neither is in the right here in their behavior or how they handled things.
They should have made it where she met Tommy and his mom when he was already 18 and not when he was a kid. It would still be uncomfortable, but definitely less problematic
I love how the comments section all blame on women only, like her son was 18, he is mentally and physically able to make his own decision and he did, and if genders were reversed i am sure if will be women only who will be blamed saying she is gold digger to date rich old dude. Even in a extra marital affairs, the women is called homewrecker where as the man is not child and could stop himself from cheating but he didn't. Still "only" Women is blamed
No, at 18 years old you are not mature. It is just a legal threshold for you to start doing a lot of things. It is common knowledge that college freshmen are idiots- both male and female. Hence why many mid-20 somethings always comment how different they were at 18. You don't just mature at 18 as if a switch flipped. The age gap isn't gross. It would have been more acceptable if he had been 25+, or some age older. But 18 is too young even if legally she wouldn't go to jail for statutory
Did people even watched the show? Tommy was in love with Simone since the age of 13 while she barely noticed his existence. The guy was the one who start that and there was not a single moment when she went after him or try to manipulate him to stay with her. And when time came, she pushed him away, so he can go on with his life. Tommy's mother was control freak, horrible person and fake friend who tried to kill Simone and spread rumors about 3rd person to hurt her. That's why Tommy have chosen her and not his mother in the end.

2:30 damn she's a great actress 😂💕
Yeah her growl at the end. So good.
Goddamn, that's how mommas talk. She got it down.
*TO THE GROUND* *Things just got worse* the POWER behind these lines 😂
I knoww Im dead haha
Lucy liu is amazing! Likes for lucy! 😊
This Women is Gorgeous 😍😍😍😍
is that Lucy Lui????? this is Amazing!
Yes and the show is amazing!
qiusef it looks so great. Im just watching clips. Not on netflix. its okay. i’ll wait.
I understand Naomi’s anger. I’d be raging too. I also understand Tommy’s decision to disown her for being so vindictive. Since his father warned him about her vindictiveness, it seems this is a pattern not exclusive to this incident..
Perhaps his mother’s nastiness is what drew him to his mother’s best friend. It’s almost Oedipal
To the GROUNDDD !!!!! 😂
She outdid herself....I had to watch it 5 times lol. That the final straw I'll watch the series now.
Can we get one thing straight age doesn't matter as long as both parties are adults it's the grooming that's the problem
It is not grooming
@@alextroy9202 i mean.. she knew him since he was a kid
@@alextroy9202 it most definitely is
@@unabruja624 It most definitely is not.
@blackstar-nr5ds grooming is an act of active manipulation, she never did anything to him
I love the fashion!!
That decor was rather gaudy.
80s
This show was so good!
That (to the ground) was powerful
The blonde woman was right to be pissed @ Lucy Lu...Honestly, this is a great show!!
Monica and Richard. Richard was there when Monica was born. That storyline always made me wanna puke.

Is this the same house as 'Death Becomes Her' ?
Woah! Great call. I need to go rewatch!
No. It's a set.
she should have said
"Your son seduced ME. Maybe I should sue YOU instead mofo"
*she will never be satisfied*
Is that Commodore James Norrington?
Did people even watched the show? Tommy was in love with Simone since the age of 13 while she barely noticed his existence. The guy was the one who start that and there was not a single moment when she went after him or try to manipulate him to stay with her. And when time came, she pushed him away, so he can go on with his life.
Tommy's mother was control freak, horrible person and fake friend who tried to kill Simone and spread rumors about 3rd person to hurt her.
That's why Tommy have chosen her and not his mother in the end.
it is still gross. period. new 18 year old dating a grown woman? Doesn't matter how it happened, she should not have engaged with him at all. The other details doesn't change how gross their relationship is.
@@squaremagnet5997 what really gross is how you all infantilize 18yo people. I don't know what country you from, but in most of the world that considered an adult responsible for their actions, capable of join the work force, military, voting, marring etc
18 is adult. Fact.
If im not mistaken, tommy came onto her first
how didnt karl hear the shouting and smashing 💀💀💀
I understand that she's annoyed but she didn't have the right to destroy her things
Poorly decorated NEVER! 🤣🤣🤣
Hmm ... Givenchy huh. That’s an interesting choice
Just realised (I'm new to this) it's the Commodore
But it was so different. Tommy was crushed on Simone for a long time. In the beginning Simone rejected to Tommy cause he was son of her "bestfriend" and was so younger. But when Naomi said her that she wasn't her Best friend, this hurts Simone. So, Simone accepted to Tommy (a revenge). But then they fall in love. They were a lovely couple even the difference age. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you get upset that your best friend said "we are not best friends" and sleep with her barely legal son that u have known since childhood to get back at her, she was right and you really really weren't a best or even a good friend. Hell, you were a groomer and snake, if u can't straight up draw a line and tell the kid to get lost and find someone his age.
Eww

didnt the guy seduce HER?????
If the roles were reversed, you wouldn’t say that. She allowed the kid to do that and not stop him when she’s a mature adult and he’s just 18. He’s a kid.
@@saitamatrash2527 i remember being in middle school and everyone was hyper sexual ALREADY. It was insane. By 18, people know what they’re doing. Just like an 18 year old murdering someone should be charged as an adult
@@saitamatrash252718 is not a kid
She could’ve said no. That’s the power of being an adult, she’s the one responsible for not having a relationship and instead she chose to fck a teen.
Yes, is the answer to your question.

Well if it’s going to get worse just sue them anyways
Okay. Yes. Her sleeping with Tommy is weird. But she rejected him at first because of his age. But he kept pursuing her.
Was that performance by the blonde supposed to be serious, or deliberately campy?
Im on the mum's side.
This isn’t weird. I was waiting for Lucy Li to say “we are in love”.

Sara Jessica parker that is her
Naomi and Jade must be related or something...

I see you are judging maturity by age which is wrong . It appears you have not spent a lot of time with today's 16 year olds to know their grasp of life in general is different never mind an 18 year old . You need to work on yourself if you still believe being 18 is a sign of immaturity.
