How will you use off camera flash?
where are the old videos? like from 2014 2015 era.
That was awesome. The time he spent to set up his presentation was very well spent and appreciated
Bravissimo, ho imparato più cose in questo video che in altri 100 video che avevo guardato in precedenza, complimenti e grazie per aver insegnato così tante cose importanti!!!
I've viewed several tutorials on this same subject - this one is by far the one that hits every angle required for any one to learn from beginner and professionals. Thanks!
Eli and Francisco (@fjh photography) are at the top of my list for YT tuts. Both from South Texas/RGV area too!
I love how Hollywood celebrity photographer Greg Williams use any available light. His lighting techniques is absolutely top.
By far one of the best off camera flash video/tutorials I have ever watched. Clear, concise and easy to follow with great examples. I am a new fan of Eli. Thank you Eli and B&H!
Thank you, Artywadd! I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Word.
I've learned tons of great info from watching this video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Glad it was helpful!
This was one of the best flash videos I have come across-and have paid a lot of money for! Thank you for this! Extremely informative and easy to follow. Loved the clear examples and all the examples. Bravo! Following now!
Great job! Nice to see the setups used on top of some great professional feedback on the how and why.
I’ve admired Eli’s work on instagram, and was happily to find this video. I can really tell he is an educator by trade, he explains the concepts so clearly. Wish I could take one of his in person workshops!
Thanks sooo much Eli, this was great. Coming from a video background and slowly moving towards photography this was mind blowing regarding the lighting concepts for portraits.
Thanks very much for the in- depth explanation ❤🎉
Love your work Eli!!!
Beautiful work, Eli. You’re such a great teacher!
I apprecaite it Aaron! Happy New Year!
Brilliant training. Thank you very much.
The amount of information in this video is unbelievable I will be reviewing this on every shoot thank you so much❤
Watched the entire thing, so much good information for off camera flash portraits and thats exactly what im practicing so thank you!
This is the absolute best video I have seen! I am new to using flash and this video was super informative and FINALLY I understand all of it! Thank you :)
Such an awesome walk through.
Great presentation with wonderful illustrated examples. Deserves way more views. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
epic seminar!
Thank you so much, pure gold ! This is what I was looking for!
I thought only Adorama were doing this type of great seminars but you guys just killin it 🤩🤩
Excellent video a must see for all portrait photographers
Thank you very much for this tutorial and for being so kind as to share so much knowledge. I have learned months of theory about strobe light in just one video. Congratulations on the video.
glad it was helpful for you
Nice webinar! Thank you both !!!!
glad you enjoyed it
What a great video! Thanks Eli. I’ve learned a ton from following you 😊
Thanks for watching! Glad you learned something new.
Amazing work and great video.
Well done Eli, Fan of you
Excellent presentation! Tons of practical, real-world examples and tips. Thank you guys! One thing that might be worth touching on is using ISOs lower than 100 instead of ND filters at times. Most cameras can go quite a bit lower.
As for me personally, I have FJ200 strobes and am just getting into using various modifiers with them for outdoor portraits (previously been using them indoors with umbrellas for portraits). I love B+H and Westcott for their amazing customer service!
Excellent tutorial
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial, Gracias.
Really great photos with good examples and explanations, clearly another teacher (5am is "my time" 😃)
Great presentation; very informative and helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!
I just stumbled onto this video but this is one of the best tutorials on using OCF I have seen. I just picked up some Profoto B10 Pluses and I am ready to really take my photography to the next level. I'll be trying all these suggestions. I really appreciate the time spent on color gels. I'll need to add some to my kit.
Glad we're here to help!
One of the best webinars I've seen about OCF! Eli is da man! Re: slow shutter speeds, I was under the impression that hand holding is safe. In a 1 second exposure, the flash will freeze the subject because the light is only hitting the model for milliseconds. Of course it wouldn't freeze a golfer in mid-swing but a model shouldn't be a problem. Am I wrong in my understanding?
Omg i have been going nuts for a whole month wondering why there is a black line on my photos after watching countless video this is hands down the best breakdown of using flash period thank you....
I've been a professional photographer for over 30 years, and I just happened to be looking through TH-cam and saw this video. This is an excellent video that explains not only off camera flash but how to use both TTL and manual exposure with off camera flash. I get asked that question all the time. Most people think if you use TTL you have to use exposure priority rather than manual. And you can, but manual is also an option. I realize this is an older video, but lighting is lighting. Great job.
Glad it was helpful!
Great Video! 22:30 Do you use only 1 light for this photo? And wich camera and settings do you use? It looks amazing!!
hi at time stamp 25;13 , you said that with the dslr you would look at the screen take the pic repeat to get your correct ambient level, with my canon 5d 111 i turn on my live view to get the ambient level no chipping required
This was excellent! Beautiful 956 girls!
this was an excellent presentation, thanks so much Eli !! wonderful easy to understand & pace was great too.... your images are beautiful! QUESTION: what was the name of the baby mini boom arm that you use to get your modifier pushed away from the light stand so you can better angle your light ? who makes it? sorry I tried going back through the video to find that one little bit of information and I just couldn't seem to locate it……… thank you
Thank you! ❤ The mini boom is called the Westcott Shorty Extension Arm.
@@EliInfante 😀thank you for reply back Eli!! got it in my cart!
This is a very helpful and comprehensive coverage of using off-camera flash. I have a two-light setup, an FJ80ii and an FJ200 along with the newer FJ-X3. The thing I noticed here (starting at ~ 28:45) is that the sync symbol in the upper right shows rear-curtain flash. Is this normal when two more strobes are setup on the remote? When I noticed this on my remote, I tried to set it back to front-curtain sync and it just reverts back to rear-curtain sync. Looking to understand why this happens. - Thanks.
Que Camara usas que da esos colores tan lindos?
Great video! Quick question I know you shoot raw in camera but sometimes the white balance throws you off, any tips for the white balance with the flash ?
Use a 18% gray card and set custom white balance in camera or during post processing.
Man I LOVE HIS PHOTOS!! I know it’s foolish to say, but he sold me on Wescott! I’ll just be patient and save money instead of buying the Godox AD200
Is the 20-inch Kupo c-stand the low rise you mentioned?
Yes sir!
Would you recommend the same equipment you illustrated in this video for pet photography?
Absoluetly! I would check out Adam Golberg on TH-cam. He does pet photography.
Excellent presentation...flash and off camera flash scare me...I once could figure this stuff out, maybe I should dust the cobwebs off!
Evidently you are accustomed to toting a heavy C Stand around. Can you recommend anything lighter, more portable, please?
now the second part: post production lr co and photoshop pls
I think for education purposes when showing lighting setups, the image shown should always be the un-edited version followed with the edited version. Editing has the ability to re-light photos in too many ways and makes it hard to see the 1 for 1 effects of lighting choices. I get the artist wanting to show off his finished work, but it can be misleading when compared to raw results. Instead you're just showing the potential the artist was able to pull from each setup not what the setup produced. That being said, this is a wonderful in depth educational video.
