This is a wonderful message and a beautiful compilation, Mary. Your filming and editing skills just keep on getting better! Being from Melbourne in Australia, we are just now emerging from what has been one of the world’s longest lockdowns of four months and was our city’s second one for the year. So from someone from a place that has been locked down for almost six months this year, it is a tough but necessary sacrifice for the greater good and, as you said, makes you grateful for the little things and appreciating what you do have. Stay safe and keep that joyful spirit of yours twinkling and you’ll be back out wandering through nature before you know it.

I grew up in Swanage, Dorset (a long time ago - I’m 74) and as a little girl many of our Sunday walks were from Swanage to Studland, starting from Stretche Road in Ulwell.
I live in the US now and became very sedentary over the years, during our lockdown I resolved to get into hiking shape so that if we had to lockdown again I’d at least be able to walk outside and see and wave to humans.
By doing that I’ve changed my eating habits, lost 40lbs, getting out and walking in the sun regularly.

Maybe one day I will make it down to Dorset to do a hike there 😁

@@jasperstone5009 So true. I do not let this "pandemic" stop me. I still go hiking, walking, get my hair cut at the barber, shop, etc. My sister on the other hand is so paranoid she has hardly left her home since February; order EVERYTHING on line, wears vinyl gloves when going out. It's over the top. I use common sense: Social distance, wear a mask when in a store, wash / sanitize my hands after pumping gas or being out, avoid touching my face, eat healthy (well, not all the time). So far, so good. John

Wow, Mary, what a beautiful anthology of your recent adventures -- simply stunning nature cinematography! We, too, are seeing some really distressing increases in Covid-19 cases, larger than they were at the beginning of the pandemic (more than 100,000 new cases each day for nearly a week now). So we are also going to have to go back into some kind of more severe restrictions again, I think. I am thinking of the motto that someone in our church came up with some years ago: "Do good. Do what is kind. Do what is just." I would add, "Stay safe."

One thing to be grateful for ... knowledge. The medical people have more of it to treat the ill. Businesses have more of it to serve their customers safely. People have more of it to know what safe behaviors can help & protect. Knowledge is a lantern in the dark and we have more light than we did at the beginning.

I get a little mad about what our politicians are doing to people that are not allowed to work but I am starting to not listen to the news as well. In reality not much has changed in my life other than always having to go back to my car to get the mask I forgot to go into the store. I did the Sierra section of the PCT and being single I'm always alone anyway. I still go camping a LOT and just put a camper shell on the back of my truck so I can keep all my gear in it all the time so I can go on a moments notice.

I understand Mark, there was no malicious intent or insensitivity intended. This video was about my reflections as well as my highlights over the last few months and I wouldn't have been true to myself if I had not added that those highlights also include relationships and love.
No, I don't believe you are being malicious. I've watched (and enjoyed) a lot of your previous blogs and your inspiration is admirable but this latest one maybe ends 'all hunky-dory' for you. I am speaking up for those who are all alone in the world and can't get outdoors because of this lockdown. I'm one of the fortunate ones. :-)
