I have one of those rubber thumbs. I used to do the handkerchief trick during class in school to flirt with girls. It's probably the best simple magic trick ever. With good hand motion, and a better looking one then Michael has, and a bit of practice, it's virtually flawless looking.

The worst thing Jim did here was not telling Michael about Pam, it was telling Michael that what he knew about Pam was a secret.
Yep. But that's what you do when you're desperate and can't think clearly. Also, he didn't know Michael super well here yet. You can compare this to how Micheal reacts when he realises he's on a date later in the series... all of a sudden his behaviour completely shifts

Absolutely. Michael Scott is one of the most psychologically fascinating characters to come out of a comedy series, and it's ALL due to Steve Carrell's commitment to the role!

I never watched the office when I read this tweet, but when I started watching it I finally understood what he meant.
The slow turn and walkout by Michael in total realization there's nothing he can say or do to reverse what he's done, confirming he's totally aware of his inability to do the simplest things, is one of the great undiscussed gems of the show.
