Great acting from Jenna 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. And John’s acting in the confrontation with Roy was great. The subtle look he gives to Pam when Roy storms in. He immediately knows Pam told Roy about the kiss. There’s almost a little sigh of relief in voice as well, as if finally, now Pam will really see how bad Roy is.
Even though Roy had a right to be angry. He did not have the right to smash another person's bar, nor seriously try to hurt Jim. You should never hit a person like that. The only exception would be if it was self-defense, or defending the life of someone else. Defending Roy's actions can stretch to thinking you have the right to seriously hurt someone just because you were angry with them. Which is never a justifiable excuse. Roy and people like him need to learn self-control.
I remember people saying how Pam was wrong to tell Roy about the cheating in a public place because she knew he’d respond like that. I love how there’s people out there who think Pam is an awful person for not wanting to be physically assaulted by her ex.
Dwight is that weird kid at school. That kid that pulls out his own gun when the shooter shows up. Then, you realize he had your back the whole time. NICE

The scene at 8:00 was the only time it seemed like Jim might have actually been angry with Pam. And it would have been justified. Knowing they all work in the same building she should have given Jim a heads-up either that she was going to tell him, or about his violent reaction when she told him, or both.
Well it's true. In real life women keep going back to assholes like that. Nearly everyone I know who cheated on girlfriends/fiances is now married and yet I have never cheated on anyone and will probably die alone.
@@Dan55888 Your defeatist attitude isn’t appealing. Neither is lumping all women together. Yes, there are bad women out there who make bad choices. Keep your mouth shut and you might get further.
Jim had one marriage on his mind, to one person. He went for it and got her. The beauty about it all isn't in some romantic place, it's in a workplace. He waited for Pam and went for his shot and got it. This is a message to all those waiting for their moment. It doesn't happen like in the movies but like this. At work. Sometimes you just gotta wait and you will get there. Or just go for it. That is why this show is so relatable. Because a lot of us have been there. It just matters how we react.
> he waited for pam and went for his shot and got it waited? at what cost? the collateral was awful. it worked out in the end because it was a tv show... both pam and jim were unfaithful to their partners. roy was a rotten douchebag, but he was faithful. karen was, as countless others have said before, simply not pam. jim and pam are not role models. they are flawed, human characters, whose transgressions ultimately brought them together and resolved their insufficiencies. it ought to be this reason why "the show is so relatable": its reality is disturbingly familiar to ours, except with a happy ending. one should not look, hope, or dream to end up on a journey like jim's or pam's. this may be the diametric opposite to the show's intentions. you should study carefully the mistakes jim and pam made to get their happy ending, and see how you can get to your happy ending without making their mistakes. you will certainly make enough of those for yourself.
What if she's married? Perhaps happily married? I love her but i can't go any further because it's wrong. However i am still waiting. And hoping that given how high the divorce rates are, there's a possibility her marriage with her husband may not work out and they split. And i get a chance. Then both me and her, are happily in love and married.

I think it was meant to show another way Roy never listened to Pam or saw her for who she really is. @@razkable yeah the way they manage to pair both of them is kinda forced. I mean office relationships often happen and destroys previously setup relationships but they could have done it a lot better. They made roy and karen such villains without any basis of logic.

His only loss in the show is that he is in love with a woman who's already in a relationship but oopsie, she likes him back, so it doesn't even matter.
The whole thing of soul mates or " the one" is nonsense perpetuated by Hollywood. Relationships have a whole host of factors needed to succeed long term. If your relationship was that bad you need to communicate with your partner. If nothing works then Pam should have ended the relationship before getting involved with Jim. What Pam did was cheating plain and simple, by having this full blown emotional affair with Jim. Kissing him kinda just solidified it. Jim's also guilty as well for getting with a woman he knows is engaged.
@@contown731 you’ve never felt that way before but it literally hurts so much to hear her say that but it’s so far down the road it’s just like idk it’s complicated but trust me he really does
I think it's important to point out that Roy isn't necessarily a ''bad'' guy, just bad for Pam. It was a big thing to congratulate Jim at the bar about being engaged to Pam.
Roy is not just immature, hes way too possessive and has no control. He sees Pam as property, not as a human being and partner he has to be caring and affectionate towards, just like she is. He doesn't appreciate her, and doesn't prove himself. And then he sees someone like jim, and instead of learning from him to change and be a better partner, he is jealous of him and sees him as a threat. And that builds up to what he does the night they break up, and then attacking Jim.
Exactly this. And Pam was a complete doormat, letting him treat her like that. I can't not understand how she can be with him for so many years😮 which is very weird and not realistic considering that she has both parents, sister, girl friends. How none of them said anything about Roy?
One thing that I have learned from The Office is that we have to be honest with our feelings and not be conformist, maybe it take some time and maybe it will be hard but time puts everything in the right place: Jim and Pam, perfect for each other, being brave and building their relationship to a higher level; Roy moves to a job that made him sucessfull and mets someone that was perfect for him, made him a better person; and Karen the same, and everybody seems to be happy.
If I’m Jim, once Roy comes charging at me in my workplace putting my significant other at risk, I immediately cut off contact with Pam who caused this to happen. The fact that he didn’t stay strong and then eventually broke up with Karen so he could go after Pam is beyond disappointing.
"Every day for eight years, I've brought pepper spray into this office to protect myself and my fellow employees. And every day, for eight years, people have laughed at me. Well, who's laughing now? " And the scene that follows!😂😂😂😂 I love Dwight ❤️🦋
So well done. Really, it is. You don't *hate* Roy and you watch Pam struggle to remain faithful to him even when she's having doubts because she wants to honor the commitment. Jim is supportive in his own way until he just can't handle his feels anymore. He doesn't do it to hurt Roy or as some pissing contest.
6:24 Kevin ready to throw hands to protect Pam, I love it. 7:33 And Dwight willing to protect both Karen and Jim Man this office may be kooky but it's full of people who are willing to stand up for others
Even though Roy had some major issues and faults, I don’t blame him for losing his temper. Maybe he shouldn’t have attacked Jim or tried to, but I can understand where he’s coming from. I honestly didn’t like Jim that much until later seasons. I found him snoopy, annoying, a bit pathetic. It’s fine if he had a crush on Pam for a long time and wished he could be with her, and I guess that’s the whole point of their love story. He never gave up and eventually he got with her. But him never giving up also was a bit overkill for me. Like dude the girl was engaged and with Roy. I don’t blame Roy for getting mad. Jim was always constantly around her, making her laugh, and generally being a tad bit over bearing in some ways as a guy friend. He crossed many lines to be honest when she was still with Roy. He always would slightly flirt with her in hidden ways, fully knowing she’s with someone else. Not to mention during the alliance ep with Dwight he was giggling and grabbing her hand when Roy came in. If I saw someone do that with my girl I’d probably get pissed. Not to mention after confessing his love for her, and basically getting rejected he still later kissed her. That to me made me dislike him pretty much. He was sort of a jerk. I could be wrong about it I don’t know but that’s how I saw the weird dynamic between them early on when they were friends. The show did a great job showing the cringe moments between them early in too.

Jenna’s acting from 4:40 to 5:30 was so fantastic. The range of emotions was just brilliant. When Jim came in the break room, you can see in her face how she expected Jim to be light hearted but he was direct and honest and that shocked her into the truth of how Roy doesn’t support her at all to finally breaking down over that truth in the confessional.
It just matters how we react.
> he waited for pam and went for his shot and got it
waited? at what cost? the collateral was awful. it worked out in the end because it was a tv show... both pam and jim were unfaithful to their partners. roy was a rotten douchebag, but he was faithful. karen was, as countless others have said before, simply not pam.
jim and pam are not role models. they are flawed, human characters, whose transgressions ultimately brought them together and resolved their insufficiencies. it ought to be this reason why "the show is so relatable": its reality is disturbingly familiar to ours, except with a happy ending.
one should not look, hope, or dream to end up on a journey like jim's or pam's. this may be the diametric opposite to the show's intentions. you should study carefully the mistakes jim and pam made to get their happy ending, and see how you can get to your happy ending without making their mistakes. you will certainly make enough of those for yourself.
What if she's married? Perhaps happily married? I love her but i can't go any further because it's wrong. However i am still waiting. And hoping that given how high the divorce rates are, there's a possibility her marriage with her husband may not work out and they split. And i get a chance. Everyone complaining how Roy was like "Jim cam on to you!?" When Pam said "I kissed jim" but like I doubt it would be different with us. Yeah lets not forget that pam said "he told me how he felt" right after she said that soooo. It makes sense
I think it was meant to show another way Roy never listened to Pam or saw her for who she really is. Jim is the true underdog story of never giving up and getting the girl in the end
@@Sailorbyday Jim was never the underdog. Compared to his British counterpart Tim, Jim is a winner in almost every aspect. He's good-looking to the point where most women in the office admit to that, he's good at his job despite him not even trying and he's "cool" and aloof.

It's a great detail that carry on my wayard son is playing when pam confesses to Roy. Fits perfectly.
You can see Kevin at 3:35 omg😂😂😂
The actor that played Roy also lost his fiancé to another guy in the movie Big Fish. Type casting.
The scene where Roy attempts to hit Jim has got to be one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. Maybe even my favorite.

6:18 why did Roy's friend trash the bar too 😂
Like any good friend, he takes the role of 'wingman' seriously.
6:12 Wow, he’s scary when he gets mad, a big guy!
If I’m Jim, once Roy comes charging at me in my workplace putting my significant other at risk, I immediately cut off contact with Pam who caused this to happen. The fact that he didn’t stay strong and then eventually broke up with Karen so he could go after Pam is beyond disappointing.

The biggest plot twist of this whole arc was that Dwight is actually capable of stopping an assault and he wasn’t just blowing hot air 😂
