I've heard that it's usually a good idea when moving turtles to a new tank to place them on land instead of directly in the water. That way they'll have more of a chance to hold their breath first if they decide to go into the water on their own.
What wattage of basking light did you use so as not to melt the top? I also am re-doing my 55 gl turtle tank for 2 red eared sliders, and a few fish. Thank you
Oh I love their new tank! Great work! You and a few other TH-camrs have helped me so much it my aquatic hobby! I am excited to make a better set up for my turtle soon! Thanks for the inspiration! Keep it up!
What can I say Carson? Your creativity is on another level but I think you need to make the right half of the tank brighter with lights, right now it looks very dark
For filtration I’d recommend the TopFin Pro 110 gallon hang on the back filter. It’s the biggest version of the one on the Guppy Breeding Tank and the Baby Catfish Tank. That would be my pick.
Hey man this is my first time commenting on a vid ! I’m a new subscriber you’re honestly the TH-cam channel that got me into fish I’ve binge watched your videos and have seen the progression I think it’s awesome, keep it up!
I'm fairly new to turtle ownership (got my 2 in January) and so glad to see my tank set up is really not that far from yours... I must do something right 😂 also i just got 3 gold fish to put with them today and i also have 4 snails. And started panicking after reading stuff on Google after i put them in 😬... I updated their tank to the 55 gallon tank (looks just like yours!) about 2 months or so ago. Now all I need is to make them a basking area cause i have those floating platform so i can't fill the tank all the way to the top Now, what i need, is to set up
awesome videos dude! i love your fish and turtles! also, Midas appears to be a female, and Junior is a male! they both look to be maturing to breeding age soon too. it would be cool if you let them mate and then you could incubate and hatch the babies and raise them up and see what cool mixed colors they might have.
Curious, do you like the rocks with your turtles? I've read that it can cause issues with the shells, and sand is much softer for them, but I'm curious if it's really a big deal? I love the look of half and half
I love the idea of using a basking area, but I would not recommend using reptile carpet, it can snag on claws and can harbour some harmful bacteria, and it’s hard to clean unless you want to replace it constantly. Hopefully this isn’t the case with your turtles, all the best!
I've never owned turtles but I adore yours. With Midas' eyesight troubles, do you think he'll figure out the ramp alright or will he need some more training too since he can't see?
hey carson just in case you didnt know junior is a male and Midas is a female. they way you can tell is by looking at the front claws juniors are very long and midas arent. great tank and video💪🏼
Awesome job I have the same tank and was wondering how to make a above basking area for this size tank now I see how you did it. How do you keep the mini deep dome lights from burning the egg crate? Thanks again brother. By the way I enjoy all the videos you post. Keep up the good work
This is a nice video , i actually have a 55 Gal fish tank currently have one Convict and one fire mouth, can I still turn it into a turtle tank with these two fish in there ? Also these turtles need to a surface area to breath or they can be under all the time ? Sorry not much educated on turtles 🐢 😃
holy shit dude first ever other time ive seen a 1 eyed koi...i had one for about a year until it passed...any idea how this happens??? young injury? not forming properly and rejected by the body? plus mine was ironically a silver like yours...wonder if it has something to possibly do with that even
That tank is way to small for 3 turtles you need at least 100 gallons for 3 turtles of that size, and you shouldn't use gravel the turtles can eat it and get impacted. It looks nice but that's not all that matters

It's not holding there breath, it's something else, you'll actually drown a turtle that way if they aren't prepared to go into the water.
Probably my favorite tank so far, so cute how Willy and the goldfish are friends! Pluto's lump looks bigger! Keep up the good work!
The new tank looks awesome & the turtles seem to be loving the extra space! Hopefully Midas gets used to navigating around his new digs.
Never tapped on a video quicker in my life. I love the videos man they inspire me to do more with my animals❤️
I already know this episode is going to be awesome, can’t wait to see what happens

Can't wait to watch!
I’m happy the turtles are in the 55 gallon aquarium
I saw the article on the Dodo about the little Sick Fish!! So I subbed. Thank you for saving him.
Wow. Midas is getting big. They look awesome in the new tank.
You should definitely put another light by the cave so you can see them more when you have the lights on. It turned out so good though! 💕
Carson I think it’s time for the mullet summers comin!
Thanks for the shout keep up the great work
Absolutely love the new turtle tank .l would just like to see a little more light on the right

Looks so nice. The turtles look like there getting bigger.
Looks fire Carson
I love your videos, Aquatic Matt Watson.
I am thinking of building my turtles an above tank basking area so this video came at the right time. Thanks 💜

Great video man!!🐢
Curious, do you like the rocks with your turtles? I've read that it can cause issues with the shells, and sand is much softer for them, but I'm curious if it's really a big deal? I love the look of half and half
What do you plan on doing when the turtles are full sized
bro I was literally just binging ur channel and then I saw that u had a new vid
Live your turtles
I love your videos I think jr is the mascot of your channel.🤩
I love the idea of using a basking area, but I would not recommend using reptile carpet, it can snag on claws and can harbour some harmful bacteria, and it’s hard to clean unless you want to replace it constantly. Hopefully this isn’t the case with your turtles, all the best!
Then which one do You recomend? Please, i'm new in this hobby, just the white net?
I miss your videos and today I am 23!!!
Looks awesome!
Take out some plants so turtles get little more space to swim and that’s a lot of plants and rest of the tank is very nice 👍
How did you secure the reptile carpet in the basking area?
Awesome set up
I've never owned turtles but I adore yours. With Midas' eyesight troubles, do you think he'll figure out the ramp alright or will he need some more training too since he can't see?

After you move the flowerhorn to the other tank. What will you put in that tank?
That's funny I just got a 55 gallon for my catfish
This is a nice video , i actually have a 55 Gal fish tank currently have one Convict and one fire mouth, can I still turn it into a turtle tank with these two fish in there ? Literally the exact same set up I have including the basking area
holy shit dude first ever other time ive seen a 1 eyed koi...i had one for about a year until it passed...any idea how this happens??? young injury? not forming properly and rejected by the body? plus mine was ironically a silver like yours...wonder if it has something to possibly do with that even
I have a decent sized like 2x bigger than junior red eared slider in a 55 gallon with some Buenos Aires tetras is that ok?!
How did you attach the basking area to the tank?
Carsonnnnn
how did u make the ramp to go up the basking area?
Nice set up
Another great video
What material did you make the basking area with?
I have a flower horn and Jaguar cichlid
What can happen if the turtle don't get used to climb to the basket? It could die drowned or something?
when will the next tank Tuesday be live?
Love the vids keep it up 😉
fish room tour vid??
sick!!!
Is there a way to put in real plants in an aquarium?
What will happen in the 40 gallon?
Nice scape
What is the stuff called you make the basking dock out of?
Egg crate. I found your old video
Nice
Yayyayayayayay
What happened to moby
My turtles don't seem to be interested in the basking area. They only chill on the ramp. 🤷🏾♂️
Starting to look like Edge from wwe
Wheres timmy
I’m 2nd! I’m exited
I thought you had 4 turtles what happened!
Should have put a donkey noise instead of you know what
Hello
You know Midas is a female right you can tell by the short claws on the front and the short tail
hi
1:43 he’s getting a downgrade

First
Carson jr look huge. His tail is getting huge so that means that jr is a male!
not to be that guy but his name is shelldon junior named after his deceased turtle the original shelldon
I love your videos, but i would love to see less of your face and more of your fish room
