this was pretty much the same lesson I learnt when I was like 5 years old playing Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask as well, I had no idea what to do or where to go, just had to keep working things out and trying
i hope this strategy continues to work out for you, i genuinely enjoyed this video and felt like i had actually gained something from it after watching too.
I remember being invaded in Dark Souls 3 the very first time I got to the Ringed City. I was very bad at PvP, so I just sat down, hoping that the invader would leave. Instead they waved at me and showed me the safe path through the ghost archer guys, all the way to the next bonfire. The most wholesome moment I've ever experienced in online gaming.
Nice. A lot of souls players do this. At some point it is just no fun to win from a player that is relatively new to the game. They want a challenge. I’ve been playing souls games since demon’s souls and 3vs1 invade is just so awesome. That’s why some souls addicts invade, not to kill someone who “barely” knows how to play the game.
i had a similar experience in the dragon area (forgot official name) in dark souls 3. Was invaded, offered him all of my humanity, but instead, he dropped me 50 humanity, left mine, and than dc-ed. One of the nicest invaders ive ran into.
Dark Souls isn't just a game, its a whole ass mentality about not fearing your biggest seemingly insurmountable challenges but instead looking forward to them as they will test your limits and create immense satisfaction upon completion. Amazing video man! Your story definitely connects with me on a deep level and I'm glad that you shared this.
Well said - perfect summation. Often comfort and staying in the bubble where we feel safe can eventually be the one thing that chokes us and makes us miserable.
It makes me so happy knowing that I can relate to someone on how these games have affected my life. Going from a lazy kid sleeping all day to now owning a house and working a full time job. I will forever be indebted to this series as it has taught me so much and it helped me grow into the person I am today.
I'll come back here again once I finish my journey and reach my goal. Tbh I DID NOT expect to see such a deep video. I'm currently quite lost in life, but I feel like I needed to hear this. Thanks fellow souls brother.
The moral of the DemonSoulsBorneRing series is to not give up. Giving up complete means going hollow. But also; - You shouldn't be afraid of failing. - Taking a breather or putting something aside and taking a breather is not the same as giving up. - Mindlessly throwing yourself at a problem again and again is akin to insanity and means you're not thinking clearly. - And most notably, learning to focus on and keeping a steady breath through intense situations is key to a successful outcome. Keeping a level head and accepting humility will net your rewards
It's wholesome to see that a video game opened your mind to understand that practice is everything. I'm playing these games as an adult (turning 31 soon) and it's so rewarding once you understand this is a game of patience, planning, analysis. Elden Ring got me hooked hard. Just my story (long rant): grew up being told i'm talented at drawing and, as such, i drew a lot because i liked being praised. But didn't actively put much effort into it. And then met other people who drew better than me just because they practiced more. And then met people who initially were told they're lacking talent but got there anyways with practice and love for it. This is when i learnt there is no "talent", just what YOU like doing and the amount of time spent on it. If you like something enough, you will get good at it, but having patience with yourself is the hardest thing. I grew up poor and a girl, so I played video games at my friends' place only or just watched them play. I sucked at most games, but always did research and practiced when i could, hoping to beat or at least be a challenge for my friends. Skipping 15 years ahead, i encouraged my partner (gamer since an early age) to buy DS3, seen videos of it and we knew it was hard, but gorgeous. He died 15 times to Jundex Gundyr and gave up on it, his ego too hurt to learn the buttons and attack pattern. Seeing him fail so badly scared me and we didn't touch the game for 3 years. January this year, i quit my job and in that darkness and stress, i promised him i will help with DS3 to be his guide. I wanted something to do. He beat the entire game and all the bosses within 2 weeks, Jundex Gundyr within 5 tries and Vordt on first try. I was watching playthroughs, memorizing the path and enemy spawns as well as invisible walls and tricks and essentially back-sitting him where to go as his sense of direction is much worse than mine. Elden Ring came out, i got a job and bought him a copy with the promise to do the same thing. Which we did for a month straight. He finished it 4 times and then bought me a copy as well, so we can play together. Thankfully, i remembered how much he struggled in DS3 and dying to Soldier of Godrick was just a bit hurtful (as i chugged all my estus by accident before, trying to roll). My partner always let me face the boss on my own and, if i die early, he wouldn't finish it off, but have me face it again until i properly dodged attacks. Needless to say that we both platinum-ed Elden Ring and it brought us so much closer to one another, letting ego aside and accepting feedback from one another. We'll look to play all of their games together, as soon as they're on sale. Long story short, i love this community and what FromSoftware created. It feels like these games are for mature audiences.
This is the cheesiest compliment but this video truly deserves the title of being *inspirational* and *motivational* ; your story is relatable, down-to-earth, and really universal. Also congrats on becoming a great content creator, keep up the great work and the amazing *outstanding* outros.
Honestly, I'm just glad you didn't let the community gate-keep you. As a kid when Dark Souls first dropped, it taught me very early on that challenges are not something to shy away from. I practically spent half of my childhood on this series, and Elden Ring feels like an idealized version of Dark Souls, combined with their knowledge gained from Demon's Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro, and I felt that gratification that the Souls formula had reached its peak. Watching this series grow with me has been a great experience.
The people that gatekeep by saying stuff like “it doesn’t count if you use summons” aren’t actual fans. They’re usually CoD and Fortnite players that played a little bit of Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring and they think they’re elite gamers for beating Gundyr and Soldier of Godrick.
@@raisnhed imo the toxic playerbase are part of the lesson. You don't get to cry and expect help raining down to you. That's not how IRL works, that's not how a hobby works.
Dark Souls 3 was the game I fell in love with and have come to realize how much of a security blanket it was at the time. I could say the exact same thing for Elden Ring earlier this year when a tragedy happened that affected me emotionally negatively. I appreciate you making this video.
This is exactly how I felt after reading Berserk (well DS and many Souls-like games are deeply influenced by Berserk) Im gonna play DS too, just to see how much Berserk has thought me. For me Berserk guided me through my darkest days of depression and anxiety, gave me a reason to live. Thank you and RIP Kentaro Miura for his endless inspiration and contribution to Souls-like Games. And Thank you fellow Struggler Ember.
Most of the modern souls fans started with ds3(me, you, so many more included(. They were somewhat depressed and bored at that point in their life and just said, meh why not? And it changed their life, our life, forever. Thank you dark souls
This game helped me through my depression as well, in fact I didn’t even know I was depressed until I got hooked on souls games 2 years ago, they changed my entire perspective on my abilities and the power I actually have to overcome incredibly difficult obstacles, and sticking through it.
the community is amazing today i was playing through ds1 for my first time and i got invaded and i panicked when the invader came out of nowhere, he then stopped and waved and dropped souls humanties and other items. and then dipped
Those people who didnt recognised the music in the 7th minute didt understand what you are talking about, however who did ...... respect bro thats how you do it
I only started the DS trilogy this year and it literally saved my life. I had a failed attempt at ending it in the beginning of the year. And after that a friend bought me DS Remastered. After overcoming O & S after 60+ attempts I was hooked. Then I bought DS 2 and DS 3 and Sekiro. And my life has changed. Now if anyone's struggling I recommend DS to them.
Something a bit different this week, hope you like! Subscribe if you like these kinds of vids :) Edit: Wow. The feedback you all have given me on this video is unreal, I’ve seriously never felt so fulfilled from TH-cam. I’m so happy to have been able to inspire and I love hearing your stories. Don’t you dare go Hollow…
LOOK, I don't get why people think Nameless King is on the same PLANE OF EXISTENCE OF SUFFERING that Melenia is. I beat N.K. second try or something, where Vordt took me like 21 tries *and I spent like four and a half hours on Rot woman...*
This resonated with me so deeply it's hard to put in words. The souls series did the same to me, and Nier Automata's ending changed my life too. I've always dreamed of creating content on TH-cam, I think you gave me the strenght to give it a real try. Thank you!
So my partner is playing Elden Ring in the office, and my studio is next to that room. He's like "Yo this is legit. Come here and listen to what this guy is saying." So I get up and he starts the video again... I sit down in the office and am immediately struck by the honesty of your story and how you connect to this game.... and I did not expect to walk away from the office watery eyed, my dude. I am currently in a very not good place myself. Probably the most burnt out I've ever been. And I find myself saying wtf at least 50 times a day. I'm sleeping like shit. It's no bueno. Anyway..... I have not played any Dark Souls games (I definitely want to now). I got Elden Ring because the art was so killer I figured the game MUST be good... And my partner was playing it hours at a time and enjoying it. I'd hear him all like "Yo what the heck is THAT!?! OMG THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!! Ah shit MY RUNES!!!!! guess I'll go get them. Oh man! I didn't find this the first time I went through here! Oh what's over there!?!?!?? Oh shit it's a BOSS!!!" I was smiling at his enjoyment. He works hard. He deserves this. Me, I just keep painting. Not allowing myself to stop working. But that changed... I'm a full time artist, and I am SO INSPIRED by this game. So frickin inspired. But what I also realized was that I felt like a kid again while playing it. I have been so busy being an adult that I forgot to take time for myself and have fun. I also realized that my painting was changing. I was learning to be less afraid of screwing up and more willing to try a new brush (like picking up a new weapon) or trying a new subject (like exploring a new area). I was learning to be bold and just go for it like I run up to the damn tree sentinels and smack the shit out of them and then roll away and do it again till I knock them out. And I was willing to die and die and die and die and die a million times because I knew at some point I would WIN and when I did I would literally throw my arms up like "YEAH B*TCH!!!! I GOT IT!!!!!" and that is so rewarding. I really appreciate you sharing this. This is a video I have bookmarked now as a "hey remember that time you thought you sucked at life? Yeah. You got good. Keep going." I wish you the very best. The very, very best.
No joke I was once like: "Oh yeah, big TH-cam channels are just perfectly timed strokes of luck on the algorithm" but after years of consideration I've learned from people like you, that you have to keep getting back up, keep staying determined, and keep pushing through this treacherous journey as much as you can. If I ever become famous I will remember you, Ember. As cheesy as it is, I am serious lol.
I think all of us have thought that at one point hahaha but you really have to know what you’re doing or keep going until you learn, then it’s really not as hard as it seems. It just snowballs. I wish you luck, you got this ⚔️
@@EmberPlays Thanks, I can agree, at times I would spend so long studying how TH-cam worked and how the algorithm cooperated, but you always have to go at your own pace and not get wound up doing things counter productive, and vice-versa. Personally I think I have the will to create something awesome, but I just can't find the right pacing, really inspirational, Thanks.
I remember my buddy got my ds3 as a gift for my 16th birthday. I tried so hard. And I couldn’t beat the game. I put it down and then a couple months later, I was so mad I couldn’t beat it. So I beat it, then I went on to ds1 and then elden ring then sekiro, I learned to never give up just through games. Then I joined the army, broke my leg in basic training and they tried to send me home. And I spoke to my 1sg with the complete intent to go home, and he said “do you really wanna be here kid?” And I said, “if I stop now I would disappoint myself and my future self; I need this, you will not get rid of me” my leg healed and then I completed my forge. (It’s 40 miles in 4 days while learning to clear rooms and all sorts of shit) it rained everyday. But I refuse to give up. My feet were tired, my leg was sore because I didn’t do physical therapy. I fought like hell. I lost 60 pounds and now I’m in the real army. And soon I will be deployed. Don’t you fuckers ever give up.
Fought millennia with help 5 times then I just tried solo and won. This had a pretty big impact on me since she was so impossible those first 5 times. This is what the souls games are about. Those first 5 tries taught me her moves and that was all it took.
For the longest time I thought you were another soulless channel trying to farm shorts. I couldn't have been more wrong this video is incredible. Every part of it, you did a fantastic job with the script, the editing, I feel truly inspired. Thank you
Hahaha yeah most ppl think that when they see anyone posting shorts but it’s just the best way to grow and it’s the only way I can stay consistent on TH-cam since I don’t have time to make full length videos every day. But I’m so happy you gave me another chance and enjoyed!! Thank you so much for that and I really appreciate the honesty and kind words. Wishing you an awesome 2023
I started playing DS1 in my biggest moment of loneliness, in the middle of the pandemic after breaking my friendship with my best friend and my group of friends, and that game filled me with happiness and euphoria, until today this is the only game that I platinumed in my life. It was the crutch I needed at my lowest point, and your video reminded me of that incredible feeling. thanks 😄
That is honestly one of these best takes on the souls like genre. And such different view that I never even considered. Thank you for your dedication to the games and understanding what it meant to you!
As someone who’s first souls game was DS3, I can say I had a very similar experience. Depressed, bored, and tired. One day I’m just scrolling TH-cam and found a video of SOC theme. I was moved by that song, no music had that affect on me, insanely epic followed by a melancholic three beat piano. That saved me from my depression. THREE NOTES.
Ds3 was also my first Souls game and I know that might sound sad but I've never had such a good feeling in my whole life as when you finally defeat a dark souls boss after several hours or days :) and the music is every time I hear boss music i think holy shiiiiiiiit thats good
hey brother, I would like to thank you for this video, I can see myself so much in your story, I feel that I am living the beginning of the chapters that you spoke about, your words helped me to see clearly the direction that my life is taking and you gave me the hipe I needed to continue in this fight, thanks again! keep up the good work and I wish you every success in your progress and towards victory!!!
i just got into this game after playing Elden Ring (and not beating it because it was too hard). I'm glad I did because this came up on my home page and I just want to sincerely thank you. I really needed this today. I'm a double major and school has been very hard and stressful and I have a problem with giving up when things get really hard, and not just giving up, sometimes I do things that I know are self-destructive. This video helped me and motivated me to do my work and go to the gym today, and even if this drive only lasts for the day, you still made my day better and I'm very grateful to you because I don't have that many people in my life that do this for me.
I always love coming here to see your thoughts on the souls series, i find it enjoyable to compare my opinions to your own, but this feels like a video tailored for me. Anxiety and defeatism has hurt my life a lot, and hearing your story has inspired me to start fixing my life. Thank you for the work you do, don’t you dare go hollow.
I ALMOST CRIED WATCHING THIS, I truly love this series and fighting games, I think the community part it's same for both, I've had so many people helping me in both this horrendously hard genres it's incredible, I have to yet implement it more in my life but I know the struggle atleast in the gaming world
This video and it's message reached me on a very deep level. I always go back to the souls titles whenever I'm down or i feel like the world is too rough. It may just be a game but coming back and having issues but an hour in and i feel like the good old days puts a smile on my face
I just came across your video and I just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration. I am an individual with a disability who is struggling with some health issues right now, but I’ve always wanted to get into gaming, so I just bought a PlayStation five in July and even though gaming is a challenge, it keeps my mind off of my struggles. I’m about to buy my first soul like game Lies of P. I’m currently playing 2018’s god of war and I’m getting my ass kicked by a dragon but I keep grinding. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hearing stories like this just make me feel so warm and happy to be a part of this community and these amazing games. I’m 13 and was introduced to the series by my older brother, who is 19, and boy am I glad he did. This game restored my humanity and changed gaming for me as a whole. Before the souls series, I use to play ongoing shooters such as Valorant and Apex Legends. I was at the point where gaming just didn’t feel fun anymore. I’ve now played DS1+DLC, DS3+DLC, Elden Ring, and got the platinum for Demon’s Souls. After I beat DS2, I’ll move onto Bloodborne and Sekiro. After playing DS1, I became so eager to play so many games. This series truly is a wondrous experience that is worth dying and losing your souls over and over again for. Thank you, FromSoftware.
I know everything happens in it's own time but how and why your not at over 1 million subs baffles me, cause this recent video and countless others are really good and well made.
Bro you described so many reasons why these games are so powerful and impactful. Exploration without the weight of difficulty and risk doesn’t hold any weight. But when you KNOW you EARNED that next bonfire, you feel absolutely incredible. A job well done, despite the toughest of odds in life is just as rewarding.
Honestly I'm just gonna say thank you. Your video really helped me think of everything in a new way. Elden ring is my first souls game and it makes me pretty mad but the way you put the challenge and the rewards of the hardships in this game helped me just have a better and more positive view on not only the games but life in general.
My first souls game was Dark Souls 1 on the Xbox 360 when I was 13 and I didn’t have wifi at the time, and coincidentally was almost never human when it came to boss fights, so I couldn’t even summon the NPC’s to help with boss fights🤣 because I had no idea they existed😭. So it took me 100 hours (level ~110) to beat Dark Souls 1 without the help of NPC’s/real players because I was a noob😥
Currently on my teens, 2 years ago i started playing dark souls 1 and was completely in love. Now i'm in your situation of bad Life habits and souls games (And videogames in general) are the reason i'm still alive. I love souls games and i can't wait to spend another Hundreds Upon Hundreds of hours in those videogames. My grades are also slipping and i Hope i Will get Better. Thanks for this video It made me realize how importante these games are for me
The thing that happened to you with DS2 happened to me with DS3. Cheers man, great video and have a good one. We're here if you need us (subscribers and non-toxic Souls fans)
@@EmberPlays Thanks dude. Gotta try DS2 one of these days. Was trying to get the original version but only SOTFS is avaliable. From what you say, it'll be fun
@@EmberPlays Np i found this video very relatable.I used to watch my dad play DS1 when i was younger and I really wanted to play but i was too young .Playing ds1 for the first time was a magical experience
Thank you for making this Ember! Dark Souls (1) is probably the only game I've played so far that not only met my expectations but went above and beyond them. The music, the characters, the monster/boss designs, all of it seemed to fill a hole I didn't really knew I had. Like many of us it taught me how to keep pushing forward, get creative when stuck, and be intentional in every action I take. It's lessons we can apply to our every day lives. We will face astounding adversity, but no matter what we shouldn't give into despair- it may not be as epic in our every day lives, but overtime it makes a difference.
Incredible video. Couldn’t have put the impact of souls games into better words myself. It makes me so happy to hear someone else as passionate about these games as I am. You have earned yourself a new subscriber friend, keep it up
I absolutely love hearing when people just get straight up *addicted* to Dark Souls 2. People can shit on it all they want, I still haven’t felt that same rush, that same addiction from 1, 3, Elden Ring, EVEN BLOODBORNE! And I love that game. There’s a reason DS2 will forever remain my number 1 SoulsBorne game.
I started my Souls journey from the original Demon's Souls on PS3, but DS2 was the title I was most addicted to. Having a full time job, I clocked 250 hours within the first month of DS2's release. LOL. Man that game was fucking awesome. I still remember power stance in launch month was pretty OP and I enjoyed it so much before they nerfed it.
I can relate to the midir part. Up until a few days ago I hadn't gotten to Malenia and hearing everything about how hard she is made me genuinely scared of coming against her. Once I actually got to her it took me like 12 tries.
Which is funny cause on my first playthrough of any souls game, (ds3), i second tried midir and my friend was pissed lol. But then WITH the mimic tear it took me like 50+ tries on malenia lmao. Interesting how different people experience bosses
I just watched videos and saw how stupidly designed she is, since she is a recycled sekiro boss (oh no, yet another recycled thing in recycled ring where 90% of the game is revycled! What shock). Got her in 15 minutes. She is one of the worst designed bosses in souls history and isn't even hard at all. Hell the whole of Elden ring isn't hard at all. I probably died more times to the berserkers in gow Ragnarok on hardest difficulty than the whole of my 90 hours to plat Elden ring.
@@kato093 i can tell that you have never played sekiro, i can also tell that that you never really learned any bosses and just over whelmed them with an over powered build or/and mimic tear.
This is such an inspirational story that I can totally relate to. Back in 2016 I joined a business where I didn’t fit, was made to feel I wasn’t good enough, and just felt completely out of place. Anyway, a dev guy got me to try DS1 (even though I failed after quite a few times)… fast forward a month, and I completed the game. I was told negative things about what I couldn’t do etc… Fast forward a couple of years, and I’ve believed I could do things I never thought I could. I’ve had faith I could do it. I believe God opens doors, but if you don’t have faith, you’ll never do it. This game teaches you to believe you can do anything you choose to do.
@@JAKE-ng8yr A guy I knew always told me I would never start a business, saying there was no chance for me, ever - and I did. I have this never give up attitude, and I swear after completing DS1 and 2, I thought there was nothing I couldn't do. So yeah, I could totally relate to your video. I thought it was highly inspirational!
IShowSpeed - World Cup, this song changed my life. My entire view of everything that exists in this world, in fact, even in the entire universe. I can never look at anything I know the same way again. This song represents emotions that most humans could never understand. But I can. Thanks to this song I was awakened to many things previously considered unimaginable. Thank you for this exquisite song, I will never forget this experience.
Man, DS1 really was special. That sense of wonder, dread, exploration, accomplishment, "wtf?" is really so distinct in that game. Even if it wasn't the first souls game for some of us, it really started the "journey" with its tone, style, gameplay, atmosphere, etc. And look where we are now.
This game saved my life, too. My ptsd got so bad, and this game became my escape. I wouldn’t be here without it. It lost its effect though. I wish I could get the feels it gave me back then.
I'm glad you found the lessons. The lessons this game taught you were learned for me through my life. Living poor, having friends shot, thinking I was a failure and surviving suicide. A high school drop out... I had some things happened that opened my eyes. Went to adult school aced it, university on scholarships, aced it. I owned at uni and got a meh job after and pushed further. Got a tech job in customer service and then promoted into recruitment. 5 years later making bank as leader of a team that generates 20m a year. I see this in all aspects of life people aren't persistent. Glad you found this lesson in a game. But one thing you said that made me laugh and was revealing of the games you played prior to dark souls was that you never seen anyone help in games prior to playing dark souls 🤣🤣 bro? Serious you must have only played cod or something? I feel like I've helped and been helped in almost all games except cod.
I bet all those "game journalists" have only one thing in their mind "THE EASY WAY" and give up the moment when they tripped on the first hurdle and whine for a reward they never earned but to truly appreciate this work of art or anything really is to do it "THE RIGHT WAY" You truly are an inspiration Remember FIGHT, DIE, GIT GUD, REPEAT
These games teach dedication and commitment that can stick with you your whole life. I was so depressed when I first played Dark Souls and I was trying to find a game to distract me from the struggles of real life. By the time I overcame the struggles of the game that at times felt impossible, I learned I have it in me to overcome a lot of struggles IRL. Obviously you don’t have to like Dark Souls to be successful in life, but I think it’s likely that people who gave up on Dark Souls are the same type of people to give up at everything else when it gets tough.
A fantastically put together video my man I resonate with everything said here. That feeling of pure joy after overcoming and persevering through a epic boss fight is still magical I’m so glad this series is a part of my life. I love this community ❤
This video video is relatable with so many people myself included and I'm so thankful that you have reminded all of us on why we love the souls series so much. Thank you.
It took me 42 years to figure this concept out, and of all the videos on youtube, this souls video is the most impressive video I have ever seen. If you continue this path no matter what life throws at you it will be a good one. Congrats for unlocking the code of living life my friend. Good Journey
Thank you for the inspirational speech, I can't wait to start Elden Ring knowing that no matter what boss I'm struggling at, I know that in the end I'm gonna kick it's butt. Same with life, my goal is to become a famous TH-camr, and I will never give up, EVER. You just earned a sub pal, good luck with the rest of your journey! 😅
All I want to say is thank you. The souls series had the same profound effect on my life and have made me a better person by trying things again after failure. So happy for your channels growth and you just earned a new sub
I'm likely twice your age, and after discoving Dark Souls last year through a band I listen to (Stormruler), I have been going through a very similar arc. Dark Souls etc. is genuinly my favourite franchise of all time, mostly for the reasons you describe. Great upload!
I have been struggling with school and so many other issues in life. This video is genuinely inspiring. I applaud you for sharing your story and your experiences throughout your life. I will subscribe to you and stay here throughout your journey. I believe in you and hope big things will become of you.
Dark soul helped me a lot. I was depressed, I was litteraly anxious all the time and all I wanted was to keep progressing in dark soul. I think the fact that it was difficult as hell was a big thing for me. Thank you dark soul, you helped me a lot.
Man..hearing the firelink shrine music again made me so emotional. This game/franchise is engraved into my soul. I remember playing OG DS1 in 2011 and instantly falling in love. It literally made me so sturdy and resilient in life, no joke. When you beat Dark Souls, on your own, no guides, get the platinum trophy by yourself - you most definitely have gone through some personal development. At least I have. Great video, friend.
This video inspired me to make gaming content between coding, work, and fitness. I’m a big variety gamer, though I mainly play souls/monster hunter games. One of your best videos I think a lot more people should see!
My first thirty HOURS were on gundyr... but when i succeeded his opposition... i never looked back. I started to appreciate the hardships in my life. I started to appreciate hardship.
same everytime I get into a slump, I remember "Be safe friend... Don't you dare go hollow" it's been a pattern in my life for the past decade, I would always get demoralized and depressed, start playing a From Soft game, bounce back up, start working out and working on my goals, accepting challenges... then in like 2 or 3 years I get depressed again, play a new From Soft game, get back my motivation... not very sustainable but it definitely has had an impact on me for the better. Dark Souls 1 was that most important switch after 25 years of depression and 0 drive Berserk had a similar although smaller effect on me
Recently fell in love with Soulsborne after picking back up both Bloodborne and Elden Ring after initially finding them too hard. Love both of those games, and I want to play DSIII and Sekiro next. I struggle with anxiety and depression, and smoke too much weed. Every day is a battle to stay productive and positive. This video really resonated with me. Cheers Ember.
I had a similar experience in elite dangerous. So many pilots offered to help and eventually I joined a discord that was full of genuinely nice helpful people. It was good times.
Had actually quit Dark Souls myself and got back after a year or 2 and was absolutely HOOKED after that. Once I hit Ash Lake I knew it, how this game is connected is the best I have ever seen in any other game.
I started playing a little while ago, but right away the game already brought back the feeling of victory, with each boss I felt incredible, and I will continue until the last boss.thank you for sharing your story, thank s2
I don't know you, but I'm so damn happy for your success and I realized this is a feeling I have with many friends in the Souls community. Thank you 4ever DS.
Dark Souls taught us a very important lesson: Never give up regardless how difficult the situation is.
Agreed!!
this was pretty much the same lesson I learnt when I was like 5 years old playing Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask as well, I had no idea what to do or where to go, just had to keep working things out and trying

@@milchkopf3881 nah man not only souls-fans. Almost everyone feels a bit lost in life.
That’s so fire, what a legend 😂😂
I love this comment so much!
i had a similar experience in the dragon area (forgot official name) in dark souls 3. Was invaded, offered him all of my humanity, but instead, he dropped me 50 humanity, left mine, and than dc-ed. One of the nicest invaders ive ran into.
@@nxdus Humanity is in dark souls, not dark souls 3?
Dark Souls isn't just a game, its a whole ass mentality about not fearing your biggest seemingly insurmountable challenges but instead looking forward to them as they will test your limits and create immense satisfaction upon completion. Amazing video man! Your story definitely connects with me on a deep level and I'm glad that you shared this.
Exactly. Thank you so much for watching! Really happy u could relate
I don't test my limits. I always get random people to kill the bosses for me. lol
Great comment
Well said - perfect summation. Often comfort and staying in the bubble where we feel safe can eventually be the one thing that chokes us and makes us miserable.
I knew it is possible challenge , so this game gave me nothing
No matter what you're going through, get out of that bonfire and run to the boss, just like you should in the real World
It makes me so happy knowing that I can relate to someone on how these games have affected my life. Going from a lazy kid sleeping all day to now owning a house and working a full time job. I will forever be indebted to this series as it has taught me so much and it helped me grow into the person I am today.

U got this!! Thank you :)
The moral of the DemonSoulsBorneRing series is to not give up. Giving up complete means going hollow. But also;
- You shouldn't be afraid of failing.
DemonSoulsBorneRing die twice series
i would definitely be hollow

It feels like these games are for mature audiences.
this is an amazing story thanks for sharing !!

This is the cheesiest compliment but this video truly deserves the title of being *inspirational* and *motivational* ; your story is relatable, down-to-earth, and really universal.
Also congrats on becoming a great content creator, keep up the great work and the amazing *outstanding* outros.
Thank you so much :) I seriously really appreciate that 🤝 and I’m glad you like my outr-
Honestly, I'm just glad you didn't let the community gate-keep you.
I totally agree, thank u for watching!! So glad u could relate!

This resonated with me so deeply it's hard to put in words. The souls series did the same to me, and Nier Automata's ending changed my life too. I've always dreamed of creating content on TH-cam, I think you gave me the strenght to give it a real try. Thank you!
So happy I could inspire. U definitely should give it a shot. It's a pretty crazy grind but it does pay off eventually!!
So my partner is playing Elden Ring in the office, and my studio is next to that room. He's like "Yo this is legit. Come here and listen to what this guy is saying."
So I get up and he starts the video again...
Keep going."
I wish you the very best.
As cheesy as it is, I am serious lol.
cute, now post toe pic please
I think all of us have thought that at one point hahaha but you really have to know what you’re doing or keep going until you learn, then it’s really not as hard as it seems. It just snowballs. I wish you luck, you got this ⚔️
@@EmberPlays Thanks, I can agree, at times I would spend so long studying how TH-cam worked and how the algorithm cooperated, but you always have to go at your own pace and not get wound up doing things counter productive, and vice-versa. Personally I think I have the will to create something awesome, but I just can't find the right pacing, really inspirational, Thanks.

I’ve recently got Elden Ring which is my first Souls-Like game. I’ve had it about 3 days and I already have an addiction to it, with about 50 hours
Those first 5 tries taught me her moves and that was all it took.

i just got into this game after playing Elden Ring (and not beating it because it was too hard).

Thank you for making this Ember! Dark Souls (1) is probably the only game I've played so far that not only met my expectations but went above and beyond them. The music, the characters, the monster/boss designs, all of it seemed to fill a hole I didn't really knew I had.
Same actually, I was so scared of Malenia but she didn't actually take me too long
Which is funny cause on my first playthrough of any souls game, (ds3), i second tried midir and my friend was pissed lol. But then WITH the mimic tear it took me like 50+ tries on malenia lmao. Interesting how different people experience bosses
@@Quinn_M35 for REAL!! It’s crazy, I had drastically different experiences w my friends and bosses

Back in 2016 I joined a business where I didn’t fit, was made to feel I wasn’t good enough, and just felt completely out of place. Anyway, a dev guy got me to try DS1 (even though I failed after quite a few times)… fast forward a month, and I completed the game. I was told negative things about what I couldn’t do etc…
Fast forward a couple of years, and I’ve believed I could do things I never thought I could. I’ve had faith I could do it. I believe God opens doors, but if you don’t have faith, you’ll never do it. This game teaches you to believe you can do anything you choose to do.

I bet all those "game journalists" have only one thing in their mind "THE EASY WAY" and give up the moment when they tripped on the first hurdle and whine for a reward they never earned but to truly appreciate this work of art or anything really is to do it "THE RIGHT WAY"
You truly are an inspiration
Remember FIGHT, DIE, GIT GUD, REPEAT
Agreed!!!!! Thank you for watching
Totally agree, glad u feel the same way!!
A fantastically put together video my man I resonate with everything said here. That feeling of pure joy after overcoming and persevering through a epic boss fight is still magical I’m so glad this series is a part of my life. I love this community ❤
Thank you :)
i wish i could experience it again
ive killed all the ds3 bosses 30+ times it just doesnt feel like anything anymore
only one i can enjoy now is gael
Same brother I’m the only one who plays souls series in my friend circle and I can’t stop appreciating this series .Great video

You explainted everything perfectly

This video video is relatable with so many people myself included and I'm so thankful that you have reminded all of us on why we love the souls series so much. Thank you.
Thank YOU for watching!!!
So happy for your channels growth and you just earned a new sub
thank you so much, i really love to hear that. Keep killing it in 2023!!!
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you. Don't give up, skeleton!!
My sword may break, My arrows fall wide, but my will shall never be broken - Cpt. Drummond, Dark Souls II 🔥
Hearing a genuine love and passion for 2 brings a tear to my eye. Good for you dude!
same
everytime I get into a slump, I remember "Be safe friend... Don't you dare go hollow"
it's been a pattern in my life for the past decade, I would always get demoralized and depressed, start playing a From Soft game, bounce back up, start working out and working on my goals, accepting challenges... then in like 2 or 3 years I get depressed again, play a new From Soft game, get back my motivation... not very sustainable but it definitely has had an impact on me for the better. Dark Souls 1 was that most important switch after 25 years of depression and 0 drive
Berserk had a similar although smaller effect on me
I've felt lost lately.
But you reminded me what dark souls taught me, thank you man
you have no idea how much I appreciate the no outro. seriously dude gold.
U got this 👑
That last part, about helping each other, you just changed the way of my view of life, thank you
Thank YOU!! Glad I could help, I appreciate u watching :)
Thank u so much :)
