      The UK Driving Test stopped using this manoeuvre in 2017, so there isn't really any need to update this video. Sorry

      Be warned that the manavoure is not in use anymore, I would seek advice from more sources to confirm how you would reverse, take care.

      In the UK the DVSA stopped using the Left Reverse manoeuvre on driving tests back in 2017 - so we won’t be making another video about it. Sorry!

    This is 2021, do we still need to do this manouvre on the Practical Driving Test?

  • @iansvecs

    Question, are tests these days more relaxed with hand positioning and shoulder looking? I was taught 10 - 2 on the steering wheel, but the guy in this video seems to cross hands at some points or barely touches the wheel. I was also taught to look over my left shoulder and check for obstructions and other vehicles when turning. The guy here uses his mirrors which is easier in my view, but again i was taught not too. Thirdly, both your three point turn video and this video didn't include indicators. Don't we need to use them in the manouevres now? Only asking because i taught my partner to drive years ago in an auto and she passed, and now im teaching my daughter.

      Firstly, neither the Left Reverse or 3-point turn manoeuvres have been used in driving tests since 2017. Examiners are now focussed on ‘where’ we steer (so judging our road position is correct) instead of ‘how’ we steer the wheel. We need to look around enough that we maintain an awareness of any hazard near our car still though so looking over each shoulder occasionally is still necessary. 👍🏼

    • @AdvanceDrivingSchool
      @AdvanceDrivingSchool  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the test was changed in 2017 to include this manoeuvre: Pull Up On The Right & Reverse Manoeuvre | 2020 UK Driving Test th-cam.com/video/AmANERr50ew/w-d-xo.html 👍🏼

    This action on the road should lead to the loss of a driving license.

  • @louddude

    why someone would need this maneuvre in real life? in heavy traffic this will lead to the traffic jam when cars that are moving after yours will detour you

    • @AdvanceDrivingSchool
      @AdvanceDrivingSchool  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We could use this manoeuvre if we need to turn around somewhere quiet - although we would prefer to turn around a different way if possible. The UK Driving Test no longer uses this manoeuvre any more, so most driving schools probably don’t teach it to their pupils now.

      @@AdvanceDrivingSchool thanks, my gf going to learn driving to Cyprus and as far as I know they still have this maneuvre adopted by UK rules, so I'm trying to figure out what is this and how to use it in real life)

    he done that wrong he took it out of gear befor putting the hand brake on

    • @AdvanceDrivingSchool
      @AdvanceDrivingSchool  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +chris campbell When 'securing the car' as long as the foot brake is pressed, it doesn't really matter whether neutral is selected or the handbrake applied first. You'll only be given a fault on the test if the car moves, as that shows a loss of control.
