Thank you so much guys. I passed yesterday, and this was actually the last video I watched before I left the house. I was totally calm but like a halk. 🤚✨
Can I just say - I PASSED my test!! Woohoo! Just want to say one big MASSIVE THANK YOU to your videos. Gosh they are SO Clear, thought through and so simple and Clear for learners to understand and by far the most helpful videos I watched to get better clarity on what my instructor would teach me. Can't thank you enough- please carry on your videos as I will be continuing watching them as I embark on my journey as a driver. Love u all - thanks again!!
Just discovered your channel recently. It's the best of its kind. I'm trying now to download all your videos. Thank you for making learning to drive easy.
Passed my test today. Perfect drive. No faults. Had 20 lessons and a lot of motorcycle riding before. Chatted away about touring on the bike during the test. Time flew by. Your video's helped a lot
Very good video. Observation is critical to safe progress. As well as mirror discipline I liked the comment about looking well ahead to spot potential hazards. Information = TUG - Take observe - Use to plan - Give signals to inform others .
I really like how this video is made. The center mirror view is really helpful to help us see. It feels as if I am driving and seeing the road condition. I really like the calm voice prompt as well. The red and green indicator on the screen for the mirror check is excellent. Thank you very much for this video for the MSM routine. It really helps my learning.
Is no one going to mention they’re teaching in a 200BHP Fiesta ST?? Described as a “responsive 1.5L Fiesta” on their website 😂 Love your videos though, got me through my driving test with 2 minors and I’m happily driving now 7 months later. 👍
Hi team, I am a learner driver in NZ and find your videos fantastic for learning good habits and techniques. the videos are of high quality and its great that different angles, including the POV from the driver and from above is the best learning tool. I really like the fact you have opted for a narrator explaining in a calm manner instead of the person driving trying to narrate as they go. Obviously the road rules, road signs and tests are different between the UK and NZ but I am learning heaps about technique and car control. Keep up the excellent work.
As a new student driver, this video really helped me a lot to understand when to check the mirrors and its steps. My driving instructor didn't explain further because of language barrier. I really hope that all instructors from non-English countries could at least explain in basic English.
Thank you so much. I unfortunately was matched with an instructor who communicates unclearly (we can't choose our teachers here in our country) and your videos are of great help to supplement my learning.
Thank you so much guys I past first time with 3 minor fault on 30/04/2021in Wallasey test center , I had just 1 lesson from instructor the rest i lreant from TH-cam channel from these beautiful TH-cam instructors
Thank you so much for making this video, I really needed it. I already feel much more prepared for my lessons and can go over each mirror check in my head as a routine now! :)
I am learning at the moment and your videos are the best to watch home before each lesson. They are so clear and concise. Thank you so much for all the tips, they're helping me so much!
Great video, your editing and various camera angles really add to the experience (that goes for all your videos)! A small question - I see that you have 2 inside rearview mirrors, what's the 2nd one for? Cheers
It's for the passenger. This is useful for driving lessons, and compulsory on a driving test. Some instructors even use a third mirror to help them monitor where the driver is looking.

Hi I loved your videos Can u make a video on steering wheel When and how much turn when u tiring right or left please I am a new learner and I am so confused on that
Really nice video. Answered most of my questions about driving. Sadly, it's not really easy passing the test here in my country. Most of times, our instructors will be away from the car... and we must exaggerate the mirror-checking movement, or might just fail the test from that...
The traffic light turned amber less than a second before we crossed the stop line. It was too late to stop, so the safest thing to do is continue driving. This video might help: Traffic Lights: th-cam.com/video/2yfSfxACZWU/w-d-xo.html 👍🏼
Hi so would you not need to check any mirrors other than centre if you were going straight ahead at a one lane roundabout. I’m just having a hard time understanding why we check mirrors before entering a roundabout. Do we check them because of where we will be positioning before entering the roundabout. So if you’re going straight on but positioning your the left of the round about you would check your centre and left. Thank you your videos are amazing
The purpose of checking mirrors is to see if there another vehicle close behind ours - so we can make sure we give them enough space to avoid a collision. Depending on where you are going, just consider which mirror checks will help you to stay safe in that situation. 👍🏼
Hi how do you work on observations pertaining to checking your mirrors? If you seem to struggle with this? I am nearing test ready but I just can't seem to get my mirrors down. Thanks x
Don’t do it because your instructor tells you to, or because the examiner will want you to - check your mirrors because it will prevent an accident one day!
Hi, if I've stopped and applied the handbrake at a give way, junction, roundabout or traffic lights should I check over my shoulder blind spots as well as side mirrors just before releasing the handbrake? I would always do this following a manoeuvre or from a kerbside position. These videos are fantastic so thanks loads.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thank you for the quick response. My daughter is learning to drive and especially in roundabout give way markings this can often make her miss an opportunity to to pull off. Thanks and keep up the great videos!
Hi, thanks for the very informative / detailed videos . IF the car in front suddenly stopped without any warning etc. should we quickly press the " Emergency " triangular button ( all yellow indicators are on and flashing at the same time ) and simultaneously pressed the foot brake... in order to warn the car behind to stop quickly as well , please ? Thank you guys .
That depends on how munch time we have. In a real emergency we would focus on stopping the car first, and then turn on the hazard lights afterwards. The time it takes to reach for the hazard lights will delay our braking and make our stop even more sudden. However if we have more time / space to stop our car then we might be able to use our hazards lights before we stop.
We slowed a little in case there was a hidden pedestrian crossing the road, but we had priority along that road. Anyone joining from a side road should give way to us. 👍🏼
Useful video, thanks. What about blind spots, what window would you look through? When you say a shoulder check, where specifically are you looking? On a standard car is it through the rear passenger window? Just wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot.
If pulling away from the side of the road, we would do a full blind spot check with all the windows and mirrors (as shown in this video: th-cam.com/video/8MYUabKcjac/w-d-xo.html ) but if we are just changing lanes we would do a ‘shoulder check’ on only the needed side (as shown in this video: th-cam.com/video/eRTAxottBkY/w-d-xo.html ) 👍🏼
very peaceful ride and peaceful to watch and listen . but it's not same here in Sri Lanka. i passed the driving test 2 weeks ago. now i practice driving alone. but my speed is usually 24-34MPH. many drivers keep hooning me and some make expressions by hand something like What the hell/ Go away. This always make me nervous . i was so confident before the test. but now each day after the practice till i arrived home and see my mother waiting for me i'm shake .
Unfortunately there will always be a few impatient and aggressive drivers around - try and ignore them if you can. However, do your best to keep up with the flow of traffic, as this will prevent other drivers getting frustrated. Good luck 👍🏼
Excellent video!!! I will be in England in April for 10 days and I will drive with a foreign driving license from Gatwick airport to London. After that I would like to pass a quick driving test. Can you tell how to do it and where?? Best regards!! 👍 🙏
If you want to take a British driving test you must be a resident in GB. However, if you have moved to GB having recently been abroad, you must be a resident in GB for 185 days in the 12 months before your application for a driving test and full licence.
Hi. I hope you can help. For a pedestrian crossing is it just interior mirror or is it interior right mirror? Also, for an advanced drive, such as The Cardington, which mirrors would you check before a pedestrian crossing - all 3? Many thanks.
We should check whichever mirrors might show any danger behind us. Since we might need to slow down or stop we would focus mainly on the centre mirror (to see who is behind us) but if we feel it necessary check the side mirrors as well. We don't have any experience with advanced driving, so cannot help with that unfortunately.
At 2:21 there is advice regarding cyclists etc on both sides of the vehicle, but there is no comment regarding the use of all mirrors in these situations. It could also be beneficial at the appropriate point to mention that mirrors are an aid to primary observations At 3:03 after the left turn, it would be necessary to check the mirrors to check for any fast moving vehicles approaching from behind which may not have been visible or presenting a hazard prior to the turn A turn involves changing position, speed and gears all of which require a mirror check in their own right and a turn into a new road is a new traffic environment and would absolutely benefit from a triangular mirror check. Unfortunately, these vital checks seem to have been omitted in the commentary. Regards

Helo guys thank for teaching us how to drive but i would like to ask whats the use of the second gear transition in some Automatic cars
Selecting lower gears manually in an automatic car is sometimes useful when extra engine braking is needed, such as when driving down a steep hill.
That was enjoyable
Hi how do you work on observations pertaining to checking your mirrors? If you seem to struggle with this? I am nearing test ready but I just can't seem to get my mirrors down. Thanks x
Don’t do it because your instructor tells you to, or because the examiner will want you to - check your mirrors because it will prevent an accident one day!
Noticed additional RV mirrors fitted - are manufacturers' inadequate for optimum safety?
We like to use those mirrors when parking - it's handy to see where our rear wheels are without having to adjust the main door mirrors.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Surprised manufacturers have'nt discovered this feature.

Should he use the right indicator for changing lane in 10:29?
In that situation it might have confused others that we wanted to turn right into the side road, so we waited a little before indicating.
At 2:21 there is advice regarding cyclists etc on both sides of the vehicle, but there is no comment regarding the use of all mirrors in these situations. It could also be beneficial at the appropriate point to mention that mirrors are an aid to primary observations
At 3:03 after the left turn, it would be necessary to check the mirrors to check for any fast moving vehicles approaching from behind which may not have been visible or presenting a hazard prior to the turn
A turn involves changing position, speed and gears all of which require a mirror check in their own right
and a turn into a new road is a new traffic environment and would absolutely benefit from a triangular mirror check. Unfortunately, these vital checks seem to have been omitted in the commentary.
