Something that never makes sense is protecting the noble consort so her family doesn't die... killing royal heirs is punishable by 9 generations, her family would be killed or imprisoned anyway
Tell me about it. A'rou could have easily told Qianlong "Noble Consort is holding my brother's hostage to force me to confess. Please help me/them." She might have gotten a lesser punishment if she did so. Then again, after Qianlong finds out Noble Consort is holding her brothers hostage, he doesn't do anything, surprise surprise.
@@missdynofire7558 yeah, he doesn't outright punish Noble Consort but he starts acting more cold towards her. He can't full punish her because everyone knows she's too close to the Empress so the Empress would be implicated as well and he doesn't want to think the empress would be capable of doing harm
@@MoonlitRogue I find it funny that the deaths of his children, 99% of them , were caused by him. His image and the image of the Forbidden City (a picture perfect place with no schemers, etc) was more important than the lives of his children and consorts.
@@missdynofire7558 the reason why is that he's dependent on her father's influence in court, it seems that nobles daughters can kill at a whim and get away with it as long as dadu is in a higher position than the Emperor.
This is what A'ruo gets for betting on the wrong horse

@@Binge-watching
我最討厭的是皇后;
