Honestly people like to hate on season 7 but in my opinion it was a nice refresher from the main plot which started to get a little repetitive, we got new characters, and also old ones so that the show was still a little bit structured, the only problem in my opinion is that this kind of reboot should've come earlier like maybe after season 4 or 5, because season 7 introduced some really good characters that would've needed one more season of character developpment ( for example Drizella, Gothel, Alice and so on )
