Billy that sheath is a good candidate for a refresh. Find a leather shop or shoe cobbler near you and have them take a look. A little careful light sanding and some dye will bring her back to black and then some leather cream will freshen it up.

I have one in about the same condition. Bought it in Colorado in late 70s. Well used. My son will have it soon.
