    I slacked through my entire A2 year and I have around 4 months to prep for my iAL May exams.
    Thank you so much for this channel and the work you do for us.
    This playlist is helping me get through the syllabus so that I can hopefully do well on my iAL chemistry exams.
    Once again, I feel that you aren't appreciated enough. THANK YOU!

    12 Days for my Unit 4. 17 Days for my Unit 5.
    This series is amazing and compensates for my lack of resources. To my luck, my school uses the same book!
    Thank you Miss Natalie from Riyadh, 2023.

    At 35:50 you say that we would never have to draw this bidentate ligand structure...I guess you weren't aware and I thought the same too! But warning for the future students - you can totally be asked to draw that structure because I spotted it in one of the exams for 3 marks.

    isn't it supposed to be 4s1 not 4s2 at 4:17 for the row that has chromium?

    How would I know if I should say iron or ferrate, copper or cuprate?

    • @rohialka4920
      @rohialka4920 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i believe ferrate and cuprate if the overall charge is negative, and iron and copper if its 0 or positive

  • @dondada4453

    At 4:12 chromium has 2 electrons in its 4s orbital in the table but your saying it only has one. Am I confusion

    • @TahaAk6
      @TahaAk6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The table is wrong. Chromium is 3d5 4s1. Also, iron is 3p6 3d6 4s2, and cobalt is 3p6 3d7 4s2.

    Wouldn't an easier way of balancing equation in past paper question a, i be adding a three in front of iodide on the left hand side of the equation?

    • @masumarahman2613
      @masumarahman2613 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeh can any1 verify this please

    • @masumarahman2613
      @masumarahman2613 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      nvm i got it, putting 3 beside Iodide is wrong cuz when u write the full equation first, not just ionic, the balancing shows its 2:4:2:1

    i have a doubt does it matter which way the hash bonds r pointing ? , eg) pg 194 fig A and fig B have the hash bonds pointing dif ways

    • @MissNatalieChemistry
      @MissNatalieChemistry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The hashed bonds should always facing the same way (but not looking left to right). Think of the plan of symmetry being horizontal through the transition metal. So the hashed bonds should both be at the top and the wedged bonds should both be at the bottom.

    Hi i was a bit confused for the past paper question a).shouldn’t it be CuI2 not CuI

    • @MissNatalieChemistry
      @MissNatalieChemistry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The copper(II) ions are reduced to copper(I) and then they combine with the iodide. So both substance have a charge of 1: Cu+ and I-
