I own one. Fun to drive. Engine fantastic and more than enough power. It just want s to go. handles great. Done 3k and averaging 8.8l/100km and coming down. Mostly city drive. Suspension can be a little hard on crappy Melbourne roads. No blind spot available.
Awesome review. Honest too. As a BMW Fan boy, the X2 was the last of the new BMWs with the boring interior. It also scares the crap out of me about the X1 X2 and new 1 that are primarily front wheel drive. I'm happy to hear that M convinced BMW to leave the next gen 2 Series as a rear wheel drive platform.
This car is made only for specific people. I'm in the phase of trying to find the best bmw for my needs I really wanted to love this car because the body style was nice, the cargo space was really spacious, for a small car and because it looked like a cross between a SUV and a hatchback so it's not too huge. inside was very roomy even though it did look simple on the display but I really dont care for that. BUT as a person who is more of a cruiser and about safety I cannot reccomend this car because the rear window is SOOOOO small if I had 3 adults in there i would not be able to see any thing not even from my rear view window. I'm suprised he didnt mention this in the video. Also he is absolutely right the driver seat is very uncomfortable it does not hug you like the 3 or 5 series.
It’s Suv, hug me perfectly for being 6’3 high. 3 and 5 I cant even get in and seat was horrible squeezing me in. So maybe you bought the wrong size car ? Lol
Fuel economy is as you'd get with any other turbo 4. 30mpg highway and 24 city. Road rumble is not bad. It's a sports car with sport suspension, and if they isn't attractive to you, don't get a sport orientated vehicle haha. I've driven an X2 m35i and it's really amazing!
My 35i seems both solid and boring. It does have a bit of under-steer - Sportscar-lite. I also have the orange (not red) seats to keep you awake I guess. And when your going 90 - it feels like 55. Be careful.
Great review and great machine! FYI, I have an iPhone seven plus and my phone fits in my wireless charger, it clips in under the front first. BMW vehicles are superior drivers cars!
Carlos Leon I agree with what you are saying when it comes to Korean cars warranties, but lets face it, you buy them because you have to... That brand name just reminds me too much of ugly Hyundai excel... Korean cars are for people who just want a car from A to B, Bmw on the other hand, is a weekend cruiser...
Carlos Leon Stinger is not bad, but to be honest, I would buy Commodore VXR or Opel GSi, in my opinion it’s better optioned car and German Made. I personally like german cars because they just have “something” that is unique and they feel great...
@@goran2009 well as a german german cars are boring here anyway because they're everywhere. And among all the choices the Kia seems to be the most reliable. And if it weren't for the badge i think the stinger would have more fans, just proves people want to get something just for the name.
It is AWD, not FWD. FWD platform doesn't mean its FWD. It drives amazingly, and the interior is not dated if you get a well equipped one with the new trim options, ambient lighting, M seats, and leather upgrades, it's awesome! And it drives amazingly. The suspension is incredible, brakes are insane, and the engine is a powerhouse! Transmission is so sporty and fun as well.

You could give the BMW X2 M35i an "8"!? You had to give "7.9". This is an amazing fun car to drive. I give it a "9".
ZF don’t make a 8 speed automatic transmission in FWD format only a 9 speed or 8 speed if RWD.. can you advise the error?

Great review, awesome car. But I’m sure it’s an Aisin gearbox as ZF is for longitudinal applications. (I could be wrong?!)
It does have the Aisin gearbox, but is phenomenal with the transmission tune BMW uses for the M35.
my mum had the 3cyl turbo and it was really good.
