Wakebait and Topwater Fishing! BIG FISH Bite When The Weather Is CRAZY!!!

- Tim is throwing the Tactical Wake and topwater in crazy conditions! From high sun to heavy downpours, he's taking everything the weather can throw his way but still catching nice fish! Come along for a fun day of topwater fishing for Largemouth and Spotted Bass!
You never know what the weather will throw your way in East Tennessee! Tim is using the Tactical Wake to locate fish and build a pattern, then catching them on a smaller Shower Blows topwater. Late Summer is a great time to focus on topwater as bass transition more and more toward baitfish. If you stick to it all day you may not get a ton of bites but you're bound to get a BIG bite along the way.

Good job. The weather has been unusual the last couple of weeks on the "Chick" for sure. A lot of cloudy days and below normal temps. The topwater bite was good until the end of December last year!

Absolutely! Spotted bass are notorious for hitting baits with their mouths closed to kill or stun the bait. Makes for some frustrating blow ups some times.

Hey for big swimbaits let's just say you're on a lake with trout right.. you would throw a trout style swimbait. But if u were on a lake with bluegill/crappie/shad you would throw a some sort of pan fish imitation right? But what if your lake has everything, from trout to gills/crappie to shad. What kind of big swimbait would you throw? This has been something I could not decide on. So I stayed away from big swimbaits, but I've always wanted to throw them. Could u please help? Thank you!
That is one of the most beautiful lakes in this area, I can’t believe you didn’t get one of those big musky with that lure! We caught one on a jerk bait a couple years ago!

Hi Tim…had a question about your trolling motor set up. Are you using both mega 360 and mega live on a target lock setup?? Can you do a video about the likes or dislikes on the target lock. Are they compatible with other trolling motors?? I can’t afford a new ultrex but am interested in mega live and target lock. What are your thoughts??

The crazy weather here hasn’t been forgiving for fishing at all. Can’t seem to find the fish anywhere or to bite on anything. It’s just been too cold for some reason but it’s starting to warm back up

The weather is not crazy. I came to see how you fish topwater in CRAZY weather, but what I see is calm water with no or only a little bit waves.
I've noticed fishing the Coosa river for 30 years that the bigger spots alot of the time on top water they hit it trying to kill or stun bait and then eat it after its a foot or so under the surface.

Mate, really enjoyed watching this video. Was certainly a busy few hours on the water. Just a thought, have you considered using Assist hooks on the lure's back split ring ? May help when the fish are a bit skittish and not fully committing to the lure. Yeah, some nice fish. Stay dry. Cheers 😀👍

It might have been a San Diego Jam knot
What's that knot you are using on the shower blows?
This is Matt so I can't speak definitively but he would have either tied a Palomar or a San Diego Jam. If there were a bunch of twists that was definitely the San Diego Jam.
