The other guy's name is Tom Holliston. He has his own band called 'Show Business Giants ' . Check out the album, 'I Thought it was a fig ' . John and Rob play on it, so it has a NoMeansNo feel to it.

Rob used to come into the Beaver pub for brew and a few game's- same with member's of dayglo a's. one gig they shared bill at club on Qaudra st.upstair's ,i think but i also saw da's at the 'rat-cellar' in Esquimalt (spelling).
don't know many other band's of that era/genre but i think that i know the 2 (two) best

Yes, it's definitely a delay device, with analogue-like controls. It might be also an analogue, I haven't checked it.
thanx, probably analog, i guessed if delay, echo or reverb. Ogre of Skinny Puppy had something similiar on the mike, it's a funny damn thing, you can do lots of tricks on the fly.
@@idontcareaboutyou7757 It's definitely a delay, or echo, if you wish. Reverb is a different, more consistent, non-repetitive, ambience-like sort of effect. An analogue delay has a real tape recorder inside, with a tape-loop installed and it's, I guess, a very delicate and prone to malfunction type of machine, so I don't think it's convenient to use it for touring. But still possible. maybe I'm able to find any close-ups of the machine Tom was using at the show.

I witnessed The Dayglo Abortions at Buckley's on Broad. 1994 ish. The opening band was "Hump". "HUMP" was arrested on stage two days later in Vancouver, for public indecency.
