I love this breakdown and analysis. It has added an extra element of enjoyment for me watching these games, and I'm having a lot of fun trying to guess what's happening next. I'll never watch a BYU game the same way again, and I'm all for it. Thank you, John!
Loving what you're doing! If your schedule gives you the time for it I'd personally love it if you would be able to do like an "Offensive Schemes for Dummies" type of series. Maybe break down things like O-line blocking schemes, why to call certain plays at certain times, reading a defense pre-snap, etc.
Love this stuff. I've never played football so I would never pick up these nuances in a million years. One day maybe I can understand all this as the game is going on haha
Fantastic stuff as always. I know you're busy, and you're more of an offensive guy, but I'd love to see some breakdowns of what BYU is doing defensively as well. Maybe since this week is a buy week you could fit it in.
Hey thanks for this! Do you know why the disparity of pass production from the first half to the second? From your assessment, was it just a matter of A-Rod trying to establish the run and being conservative until he saw what he needed to expose? Was it just waiting to turn Slovis loose? Or just Slovis loosening up? After seeing the Jets on Sunday and the change in how Zach Wilson played when they let him throw it, I wonder if production would increase by doing something similar for Slovis.
John, Thanks for putting these out. This is changing how I watch the game! Learning tons
Nothing better than watching BYU football and getting film study in at the same time
This is great stuff! You know a ton about football! I appreciate the share
