Can you tell me why there isn’t a stop button on the other side? I have never messed with ferrules, cable, etc but I’m tired of using the cable stakes with DP’s and struggling in rocky ground getting them both in and out. Thank you
@@katapultsmash the extension is designed to allow you to adjust the loop to make it easier to pass your trap through the loop to attach to a tree. No stop needed and the ferrule stays in place. I appreciate you watching and asking a question.
Sad, what's become of trapping! I trapped the Adirondacks for 30 years and never used an extension, In fact I shortened most of the factory chains, THINK about it. If a critter can only move 18" he can't develop enough momentum to cause a pull-out, but a long chain defeats that security.
I agree about using an extension on a foot hold trap for cats or canines. I use these with the little dog proof traps for racoons. The majority of the area that I trap is reclaimed mine sites from years ago and the ground is extremely hard and rocky, making it very difficult to drive in a stake but i can quickly and easily wrap an extension cable around a nearby tree and attach it to the dog proof. The length of the cable can be easily shortened by wrapping more times around the tree before pulling it back through the loop. They are small and light weight compared to rebar. This has worked well for me and you do what works well for you.
very helpful
Thank you and I really appreciate you watching and commenting!

Similar setup to what I went with this year, got rid of most of the quick links and went with the split rings.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I like the split rings better.
@@KYPrepper5 Me to, I was worried about increased theft but hopefully that’s not the case.
