Mikes little rant on how enjoying the process of becoming your best makes you feel like you’re always winning was possibly one of the most inspiring things I’ve heard in the Context of performance. I seriously am so happy I heard that not just for myself but for other people
Steve since Mike feels comfortable to talk in an alternate universe of his Special Supplement Protocol, it would be cool maybe to have John Jewett and Mike discussing some on the podcast?
We had the discussion already but I don't think it would align with what our podcast is about which is primarily natural bodybuilding, and leaving this for their specific podcasts maybe! I'll pass on the idea though :) Thanks for tuning in JJ and happy holidays! - Coach Jess
Yo that peeing at night thing is serious. "I look like a comic book character" lmfao every man's dream. I really like when people mention the spiritual aspect of bodybuilding, because that is what it is for me. Also It's horrifying when bodybuilders start talking about using their body as a petri dish for drug experiments. That scared me away from doing that shit for probably forever. Thanks again for the podcast.
@@Hedgeflexlfz I think about how serious I am about this body building shit, so much more than the average person, then I think about pro's and I am nowhere near that level of dedication, and sheer not giving a fuck 😂 Scary shit
Yeah it's so annoying, I'm shocked how many people seem to relate as well^^ Amazing to hear on the rest, and yes scary indeed! Thanks for tuning in John, happy holidays! - Coach Jess
I found Dr. Mike by listening to Revive. The respect he throws back Steve’s way makes me smile. I’ve shared Steve’s story in online groups. Your dedication and progress is inspirational man. 💪🏽❤️
Came back to this one after reading last month’s _Muscular Development_ (Nov ‘22). Mark Lobliner wrote an “advertorial” about winning his pro card (at that same show; he took the Men’s Bodybuilding 40+ division). He describes the sacrifices he’s made as “sort of worth it… if I never earned my pro card, I cannot honestly say it would have been.” That’s not to say training is dumb and he’s always hated it. His advice was more that aspiring competitors get a realistic idea of how high they can go in the sport (genetics and chance being a big part of that) and adjust what they’re willing to give up (family time, social events, health) accordingly.
It's nice to hear I'm not alone with pee "problem" - sometimes it's really annoying. Especially long traveling in buses, cars (in the middle of highway, with no toilet, Jeez... ). Cutting makes it even worse. Yes, I drink a lot, but I get thirsty quite quickly too. Luckily, my work allows me to pee whenever I want - I don't know what would I do standing for example attached to production line - nightmare... :/
Haha welcome to the party, Steve and I are like that as well, it can be a bit of a nightmare, especially for females^^ Thanks for watching and happy holidays! - Coach Jess
@6:33 fun fact when I wake up I need to go pee instantly. it's violent and no fun. After that I smoke a cigarette which unlocks my ability to take my morning dump which interestingly is completely pee free
100% I have experience anabolics crushing thyroid. TSH skyrocketed to 4.5. Experienced stupid fatigue around the clock. Prescribed T4 and it helped a lot.
Great podcast Steve, always good with Dr Mike - agree with him on how well you’ve done in the natural scene, it’s inspiring to another fellow competitor with underdog genetics.
Loved Mike's honesty on this one, also so inspired listening to Mike talk about enjoying the process. Steve is a great host, makes the podcast easy to digest. Big up Revive!
its cliche but its about the journey not the destination. Some times are egos think we are too smart for simple advice like that, but really the joy in my life has come from simple advice like that
Jose Raymond I believe he is talking about. Jose Antonio is head of the ISSN. This interview was on point and Mike is always so amazing with helping others and offering advice. He is badass and his youtube is exploding. He is practical, funny, and doesn't talk to audience like a classroom lol.
Enjoyment is victory is the excuse of someone who knows they can't ever win. But who is apparently willing to throw their health away, lose all their hair and need gyno surgery. To enjoy losing every competition to someone else. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Ain't that right Mike?
You're a sad man with a boredom problem, Lyle. This was one of the best episodes we've uploaded and there is so much value in it. I will also keep this for when Mike gets to win and make sure to send it to you ;) In the meantime, thank you for being salty, it helps the algorithm 🥰 - Coach Jess

For accuracy, Mike competed in the Master's USA's, and not the Nationals. Strangely NPC News Online doesn't have any pictures of him.
