  • This morning we got our heifers up to pelvic measure and vaccinate for a few different diseases. Later we ran the bulls through and put pour on them to fight against lice and other external pests.
    Special thanks to Dr. Hubbert for coming out today to help us vaccinate and pelvic measure.

    *Soooo, I went back to the beginning, to the 1st vid on your channel, watched them all to this point, and discovered that this was your 1st "talkie". It was a good start! Your drone footage has always been of high quality, and your filming editing skills have always been on-point. It's no wonder that your have become a wildly successful "Farm TH-camr" You've gained me as a fan, that's for sure. Yours is the only channel (out of the hundreds of automotive and farm channels that I subscribe to) where I've gone back to the beginning and watched them all.
    You put out a superior product, and your 1M subscriber award is a lot closer than you think. Keep up the good work!*

    These are a good looking group of cattle. They also appear to be well behaved. Nicely done video.

    Rewatching some of your earlier videos. I must say I wish I could do this kind of work again. But now i can just watch you and your family and think of the memories. For that thank you. You have one of the best farm channels and have come such a long way. Keep up the great work.

    Really nice videos and an impressive operation! Hope to see many more. I've been subbed for a while, but for some reason hadn't sampled enough of your vids to appreciate how good they are. Between the size and diversity of your operation and your ability to convey it on video so well, I'd expect your channel to really explode. I grew up on a South Dakota farm in the 50s and 60s, so it's good to see from that standpoint as well. Thanks.

    It’s the first Sonne talkie! Good job! Do the buyers pay extra for TH-cam star cows?

    Thanks for the video, lot to learn. Especially from my standpoint. The operation seems tremendous. Question, do you ever stop looking at them as cattle, and ever just look at them like food?

    • @SonneFarms
      @SonneFarms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Good question. Most of the time I think of them as not just cattle, but living things. I can't answer for everyone, but I think most farmers are like me and care deeply about the animals' well-being, and there are many reasons why we should. Number one is its the humane thing to do. We see cold animals we give them bedding and wind protection, or we treat a sick animal to help it feel better. Not only do we care for the animals because we want them to feel good, but the better the conditions for them, them more of a return there is for us when we go to sell them. I know in the end that most of these animals will be turned into food, but that doesn't really change how I would treat them.

    What floor do you have in the crush, we had issues with cattle sliping so we put batton widthwise on the floor and spaced them out a few inches apart gave the cattle a better footing in the crush, mesh just clogs up with crap. really nice video, liking the cattle race, i'm a bit envious.

    Kinda too late to vaccinate for black leg. Haha. Joke. Hear it all the time around here with Angus calves.
