New: Lightning Strike: No longer has Added Lightning Damage at all gem levels. It now has 198% Effectiveness of Base and Added Damage at gem level 1 (previously 135%), scaling up to 456% at gem level 20 (previously 225%). Now has a Mana cost of 6 at gem level 1, scaling up to 10 at gem level 20 (previously 6 at all gem levels)
Based on the amazing Builds you did in the past I trust your League Starter blindly, no matter what. Your Guides are what allows me to casually come back to poe every few months. Thanks, looking forward to everything you gift us
Sounds like a good decision to not stream. I really enjoy your videos and the more value you provide from those the better (for me anyway). I'm pumped for 3.25 as well. I'm going to LS Warden so we'll see how that goes. Like you, I don't care about going fast. I just want to immerse myself in all the changes and have fun without the FOMO.
I had been waiting to see how excited you were for this league. It looks so good! I'm super pumped to get into the town building/managing. It finally feels like a league where casual play is going to be great. And gladiator! I can finally play one of my favourite themed builds, bleed lacerate. So pumped, and happy to hear you're excited for the league!
This all looks super fun! Will play a bit more casually too this league, since i have to work on the release weekend, but i am really looking forward to it. Mabye i am even sitting12 - 20 hours in the campaign because i build my town :D Anyway, I am starting as Glad playing either Helix or Sunder until i get my Transfigured Ice Crash and start Dual Wielding from there on. I was enjoing Melee even before the buffs, so i think this league will be very fun to test all sort of melee skills.
the tincture node on a pathfinder would be insane i think... they give a bunch of flask effect.. and you can put them in 2 and 4 and boost the middle flask to insanity. Also Champion got changed petty significantly before you decide to go that direction
I actually don't have problems with real time mechanics, like, this league has been inspired in RTSs right? REAL TIME strategy games, so, is kinda okay if dont have an money gate on it.
I’d rather have it be a standardized time overall. Like it takes x hours to do y thing. Like with the mining/gathering thing in the town. I’d rather click it, it takes x amount of hours, and the entire thing is done, here’s the loot window. Instead of it currently being Ike 5 minutes for one, 40 minutes for the other, and like 1-2 hours for another. I feel like it should be a set it and forget it type thing. Where you click, go map for a few hours, and come back to reap the rewards. It’s going to be annoying “having” (quotes because you never have to do anything in this game, but you would “have” to do this to play 100% optimally) to stop what you’re doing, and run to the gatherer to set it back up for whatever material just finished every 10 minutes.
i'd rather have real time mechanics but automated, then something like necropolis which you should click manually everything and get nothing in the end.
Hey Fuzzy, came to check out if you were gonna go lightning strike right away after seeing melee is going to be in a sweet spot! Hope they fix LS since it's clearly just an oversight. Regarding damage lost from flat damage on gems (a la frost blades) and the 41.6% more damage from totems I have a few points and wanna see if I'm just flat out wrong. The flat damage from frost blades contributes 12% to my total DPS and totems provide 41.6% more damage as well (total more damage = 58.2% from these 2 things). Comparing the new level 20 gem value of 409% effectiveness of added base/flat damage to the current 225% effectiveness we get 112% more damage from this change. This doesn't include the fact that every gem level after level 20 will add a ton more effectiveness as well (60.74% more damage per 100% effectiveness) compared to the 6% it grants per 1 gem level currently. This does mean frost blades in particular is gaining 53.4% more damage unconditionally at all times. You can then add to this with rage, banners and gem levels. Smite will be a huge beneficiary since its upper-end effectiveness is getting such a huge buff as well as it being quite easy to apply many + gem levels to it. Frost blades also benefits massively from consistent damage for more consistent freezes = more consistent damage :D Was also thinking of Champion LS but the left-field Champ nerfs and glossed-over LS numbers put a bit of a dampener on it. Rambly comment I know with some potential numerical issues but this should paint a picture at least roughly. Cheers!
I think Frost blades will be fine but a lot of people padded the DPS with penopticon, double totems a permanent freeze. I mean frost blades was pretty decent anyway so should still be a fun build
I may be crazy, but I've played both your Raider/Champ L.S Rain of Arrows and now im trying to cook together ROA Warden, just trying to work out what points to take and am curious if the Buff can be scaled with Skill Effect duration, I imagine not, but I can have copium. Thanks for the update! :)
sad about lightning strike cause I love the skill so much. Seems like crouching tuna is assuming the patch notes was wrong. He is building a deadeye ls right now on steam
I am pretty sure they were wrong too and I also was considering deadeye LS as with the addition of the frenzy nodes this ascendancy looks very strong for a melee/proj hybrid build. He puts out quality builds so definitely cannot go wrong
Certainly hope they're wrong. Was planning on starting LS Raider, so... double f'd. Hopefully they'll see the commentary around LS and correct the notes and increase the damage by the same amount, but based on the actual current lvl20 effect.
I am really not sold on the rage changes as the stacks disappear so quick now. I think both will be solid. I tend to avoid berserker as I really hate the first few acts on Jug. I think Champ still has a lot of easy to access defences too which are quite important when standing on top of enemies. I did look at slayer but think it needs better gear. The reason for sticking on champ is it allows me to run super cheap gear. If I went on another class I would need to invest in to crit to reach similar levels of damage which gets pretty expensive.
Wish they didn't nuke Determination, Grace and Rage for the sake of balancing the buffs..qhen the buffs are inky needed cuz of the deletion of melee totems..like whats the point if u even double their mana cost 🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️
sucks the currency trader is for this league only, it would be a great addition to the game baseline and actually makes the game less website of exile and more path of exile
@@FuzzyDuckzyIt's a namelock ability and you need to hit to make the projectiles, so I totally agree. But I need to know for sure! If it turns out to just not have the numbers I'll probably swap to Frost Blades.
Really sold me on the smite league start also with the mtx you can cosplay as lightning strike, are you gonna like share some mock up build guide or just taking the same template from the lightning strike build and applying smite ?
I am putting together a very basic POB to get the atlas clear and will then probably put out a more high budget one a bit later into league start as not sure what new stuff is going to be available
@@Eli-p3k2y Yeah it is not much good without the gem changes especially on the ones that lost flat damage. I have been using it to plot trees and look at ascendancy changes though.
I think warden is a really bad league starter pretty much every mode needs very good gear to work. I just don't think it offers you anything as a 1st character. Slow, no defences and situational buffs that will be hard to get to work on cheap gear
I have not looked much at new gladiator as I am not really a fan of how bleed builds feel when levelling but I imagine a lot of people will bring out some good guides

Yes you have to play through the campaign every season. I will bring a guide out for the build I am playing which will have act by act progression so people can follow along
I think warden looks pretty bad as a league start option. All the nodes really rely on you hitting quick and hard which will be hard to do since the ascendancy gets no speed related nodes any more
thoughts on doryani/mahuxotl LS (arcing) slayer? with changes to vaal pact it seems like it could be cool, and we have kalandra back to hit -200 lightning res
I have seen people saying doryanis was nerfed which I assume is to do with the fact you can no longer convert all your lightning damage. Slayer looks like it should be very strong with the new vaal pact. I think as a league starter it would be a bit rough. Deadeye looks like a pretty good league start option for lightning strike of arcing, especially now you can get free frenzy charges
@@FuzzyDuckzy Thanks for the reply -- I'll look into deadeye. Where is the change for doryanis? I didnt see anything about divine flesh or tempered by war getting changed
@@FuzzyDuckzy Apparently it is mostly a question of if the engine will properly treat LS as a melee hit (instant leech) and a projectile hit (for overleech) separately. I guess the old vaal pact used to just give instant leech to the entirety of proj-based melee skills (in which case the slayer overleech is gutted)
Smite champion? I feel like the skill gets boring pretty quickly, and some mechanics like Sanctum are not great with melee. My plan is to nolife the game for 6 days, because I'm going away for like 2 months probably, which means 6 days is all I'm gonna have this league. What melee skills do you think would be good on a jugg to league start extreme archaeology? Or is that a terrible idea? 😂 I was thinking infernal blow or volcanic fissure of snaking
I think LS is probably an error in the patch notes. I have messaged them and hope they either revise the patch notes or realise they have made a massive boo boo and fix the numbers in game

I disagree that on super budget league start gear it is easy to get without using the gem which is quite a big damage loss or using lots of passive points. This is not for super end game it is just to farm quickly in the first few and then switch to slayer when I have money. I still champ is pretty good for league start, but agree once you have currency it is not good
Best part of the patch is being able to hire Shitstained Steve as miner
That was such a good easter egg :)
