With these not being rated for outdoor use, curious what a dome/enclosure would cost, to make these work in areas that are cold, and get rain, ice and snow.
As a person who has worked in stage lighting for the past 5 years, lights like these are great for beginners and pros wanting something cheap. The only issue with them is if you purchase them over long spans (such as purchasing 2 for a show and then needing more in a couple months) they usually end up being different builds and so the channel lists are incorrect or different from the originals, this usually ends up with you having to make new fixture profiles. Also they tend to break faster than professional lights (to be expected at the price) overall these ones are fantastic. Also, I would highly recommend against using XLR cables instead of DMX. It does work but the issue you will end up having in more professional fields is you might accidentally get confused and switch up your cables you can brick your lights, also with impedance XLR is 75 ohms where DMX is 110 ohms so you will actually be degrading your signal and may come into issues with runs over 10 ft. When it comes to using DMX in shows I recommend Enteccs open DMX pro box, it allows you to use DMX over USB and is great for PC softwares if you are using FPP or something similar. If you are using a dedicated controller with ethernet however use that. I hope this comment helps anyone with issues :D
Do you have any recomnendations for a similar featured fixture than can be about 10' diameter at 50' away? (using 2 to light up front platform in our church) (even better, and worth paying more if the size can be adjusted)
I was an LD in several nightclubs in the late 80’s early 90’s. Back then Vari-Lite were the only moving head fixtures and were only used in touring shows. We used Cyberlights in most of our installations. They were amazing effects at the time.
@@6-Iron Thats dope, i'm not an LD as I have no skills in that matter, but I am a board operator. Now days im in college for cyber security but every once in a while I catch myself starting at a sharpie or two.
Wonder if you can make a simple enclosure using Plexiglass to seal the unit while allowing the bottom to open on a grate of some sort for ventilation or if it would fog up in the Rain and Snow. Curious what you come up with.
I have a question. I’m starting my first Christmas show next year and I’m learning now. Just simple dumb question but do you plug the Ethernet from your controller to your computer you are running the show on?
I have three of the really cheap ones I paid $65 a piece for them and I really like them they really do work but mine only has nine channels and two of them is for reset and the pan and tilt speed and I like your videos so keep them coming
Just so u know that yolk issue u had with the covers dosent have any impact on the performance of the light also you probably could fix it by unscrewing that cover and putting it back on re aligning it
One thing to note is that the beam will usually appear to be a lot brighter from the perspective where it's shining towards you rather than away from you as it bounces off particles in the air.
@@How2Pixel I have four smaller DMX moving headlights and was able to get clear acrylic globes from Amazon. They look like a giant goldfish bowl. I have not set them up outside yet but I hope that helps. I would imagine that they would need a couple fans setup underneath to provide airflow because of the heat generated by these type of lights.
I tried to purchase four of the items through the website on a new account using a Windows desktop with Firefox, following the link in your description. The total came to $555 plus tax for all four items. When I applied your $100 discount code, I got the message, "Sorry, only for new users." It seems the code didn't recognize my new account. I ended up canceling the sale at that point.
You should totally sequence a little something for the two of them you have, or one if you had to return the one. Just a little something with the rest of your show.
I was thinking about it, but I'm so busy right now that I don't think I can get it done 😂. However I will definitely be adding them to the show next Christmas!
Just call them "Movers." When you say "Moving head lights." Makes me think of a car's headlights that move. I'm someone who works with lighting and DMX all the time. We do talk about lighting on the DJ Round Table Show.
I completely understand. Yes there are moving heads like this on Amazon and lots of other places with similar prices and quality, however, I can't find these specific moving heads anywhere other than Temu. There's a tiny sticker underneath that says they're from "Dongguan tong global industrial", but I couldn't find much info when I looked them up.
@ thank you for your reply! I’ve been looking for an rgbw light source, since those are much easier to sequence in light-o-Rama. (We still use light o Rama!) I later realized that these is a color wheel mixing system, so I’ll keep looking. They did look pretty bright, though.
This is not rated to be use outside. How do you going to use it? Don’t tell me that you going to spend $500 on a glass dome for this light. Show us what you going to use and how much is going to cost please.

Just ordered 2, i would love a video on how to hook it up to xlights and sequence it thanks!
Dude i love your videos! Keep em coming.
Can't wait for your show 😮

Ordered 4 of them, thanks for the review! Great video as always!
Thanks!
@@How2Pixelare you going to build enclosures for yours?
Cant wait to see them up in the display for sure 🔥🔥🔥
I know! I really wanted to add them this Christmas but I don't have enough time to set them up or program them 😭, Next year tho!

Are there any more, the link shows discontinued?
Great job Nicholas 👌
Maybe it would display a bat signal lol, nice video!
Hahaha!
As a company they are ok, their items are what they are, generally cheap. But Temu in my opinion is not a scam just cheap

Very cool. Are they called headlights instead of spotlights. They would be awsome when my band does outdoor shows, might be too much indoor
That is a "powercon" connector
Thanks for letting me know!
You should make a bat signal lol
Again great video 👍👍

Oooo let’s goooo
The Temu "cash back" is just coupons for either free stuff or a certain dollar amount after you spend a certain amount.
Ah ok, thanks for letting me know.
No way a temu sponsor

Fun fact - You can thank Phil Collins and Genesis for the development of this type of fixture. It all started a $1,000,000 investment in Vari-Lite.
And I forgot to mention earlier that mine are from Temu
connector is power con :)
Thank you!
Are they available on something other than temu like Amazon? I’m not installing that malware pile of an app onto my phone.

The Code is not working (only for new shopper 😞)
Aww man, sorry about that, they never gave me any information or let me know who the code works for.
what wattage are these and do you have a link for head please
Yes the link isn’t in the description
Temu rotates stock so much that even if we had a link to these, they'd probably be gone.
@@andyb1rch oh yea I didn’t think of that
Sorry for not adding the link to the description, here it is! temu.to/k/uqr72o1xjkt
Item instantly removed from Temu lol.
Discontinued
You've sold me, link please.

That’s what I’m saying man I wouldn’t spend that kinda money on a ip dome unless I had lights that were actually worth it
