Great short, I just got this camera and shooting my first full film what settings you recommended on the camera to give it the film/cinematic look & what editing system you use thanks for any tips
What lens did you guys use? What were your GH4 settings? I have the GH4 with a Panasonic G X Vario 12-35mm micro four thirds lens and I still can't make it look THIS good.
Excellent FILM production a couple of crtiques: 1.) The scene with the wife @1:30 was unnecessary I would have removed it in the Final Edit 2. The audio of the people in the offices could have a bit better. Other wise very intense and well done !
What's with the earthquake cam at 0:30? A tripod is a necessity for an establishing shot like that, especially if your camera doesn't have IBIS like the GH4. But even if you were shooting with a GH5, there's no reason not to use a tripod for that shot unless you're just lazy or in a hurry.
How can you handle light blinking with 1/48 shutter speed? It’s not the light frequency 😅 Or mayne it doesn’t appear cause 1/48 is really close to 1/50?
I like the results I get from the native Lumix 12-35 lens for the GH4. I prefer 12mm over 18mm because I don't use a speedbooster on my GH4, so I need a wider vocal length to compensate for the crop factor. I hope that answers your question, thanks for watching!
somebodies gottta do it. my father was high up in Suncore, like head office and even he doesn't understand 'gas' prices. "nobody knows why". conspire away gay bois. thumbs up
Cinema Light Pictures how do u achieve true 1/48 shutter speed on this camera, cause even the 180d shutter angle isn't true for this camera... Its like 1/50..pls reply
Android Force My mistake, I set shutter to 1/50, because 1/48 isn't an option on the GH4. It really doesn't make a big difference from 1/48, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Cinema Light Pictures thanks bro... But i think 1/48 opens a whole new world.. Cause movie cameras have 23.97fps at 1/48 shutter speed... U see block buster movies are more cinematic than ur video aren't they. Maybe if u can hack into it by using magic lantern and change settings to 1/48...how fun would it be.. But risky off course. My point is that any cinematic video on TH-cam cannot match with movies cause they only use 1/50 except for alexa or sony h55's cause they can emulate those film cameras perfectly.
I personally don't think a difference of 2 (1/48 from 1/50) is going to make a big difference. Please explain why if you disagree. Shutter speed is only one factor in making a video cinematic. GH4 can never compare to the quality you get from high-end camera like the Alexa. Dynamic range, global shutter, color, and resolution are just a few things that the superior cameras have. Also you have to consider budgets. Blockbusters have hundreds of thousands to millions for the camera and grip departments, so they can use the high-quality lights, jibs, dollies, cranes, diffusion ect. And finally the post process for blockbusters are very extensive. The post process of Digital Intermediate alone can make a major difference in making a flat image pop; another reason why using a high-end camera is so important. All in all, just keep practicing the craft and try not to get too tied up in the technical stuff!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m almost 100% positive this was edited using Final Cut Pro X and you used the Teal and Orange look. In my opinion I don’t think that color grade matches the tone of the film (especially when the highlights have an orangish tint to them). Pretty nice cinematography tho, but acting could be improved.
This was so sick! The drone shots and the voice overs were really unique and enjoyable.
urse Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch!
Awesome ! I bought a GH4 to do rhise kind of stuff ! Great !

This is absolutely amazing ❤
Nice, i like it and i can try shoot something similar just to learn how to set up GH4 to look cinematic.

what settings do you have your contrast sharpness and saturation on is it -5,-3,-3
Subbed
rolling shutter is worst than the gh3 great work by the way
How did you guys managed to have such a low amount of video judder/strobing with GH4? What settings have you used?

was it mostlt shot on 100mbps or 200mbps before post-production?
It was shot in 100mbps!
Well done mate. Post more often. What's the reason you don't want to use sigma 18-35 like others? I really want to know :)

Thanks for the answer. What about editing program, what do you use?
Nenad Mrdak I use Premiere Pro and love it.

also make more videos
Tell me shutter speed, frame rate and iso, and some more info plsss
Android Force I almost always shoot on 400 iso (rarely 800), 1/48 shutter, and 23.987 framerate. Thanks for watching.
