I would without a doubt put his performance vs Chile in my top 5 Messi performances for Argentina. He left it all on the pitch! Just by the way he played, you could really tell how much he wanted it. The way he was dribbling, the way he was taking on defenders, and just the way he was playing in general. He was literally doing everything by himself. He received the ball with 5-6 defenders in front of him and no teammates alongside him but what does he do? Turns and takes them all on... Lionel played with passion and hunger but some fools cannot see that because they're distracted by the end result. Football is a team game and a bunch of people forget that with Messi because that's just who he is. The guy who can single handedly win games... The guy who can influence the shape of the game... The guy who can dribble past a wall of defenders... The guy who can do it all on his own. With these performances for Argentina: most of the time he's alone. No one supporting him. No one helping him. He's all alone with a whole country on his back. So when they lose, when they're being dominated, he's the one to get blamed.
