  • Weezer's debut album from 1994 is probably my favorite record from the 90s - its a group of geeky underdogs cranking out huge, catchy guitar hooks for 10 tracks. There are a ton of great songs - "Buddy Holly" "Say it Ain't So" and "Undone - the Sweater Song" are the obvious ones, but "My Name is Jonas," the first song on the album, has always been my favorite.
It's relatively straightforward to play - like many Weezer songs it's dominated by power chords and simple melodies. However, the last third of the song has some great riffs, including a section of ascending triads using the chords C, Am and G. It's really fun to play, and is actually one of the riffs that inspired me to pick up a guitar in the first place.

This is my first video with the Nikon D5600, so there are some focusing issues on some shots. Will improve in the future!
