I have seen several videos from this tour thus far (Tacoma, Eugene, and Sacramento) and the guys sound friggin incredible. Yeah, I know, it's TOOL and they always sound awesome. But to not have been out on the road in two years and come out sounding this good, means they are only going to sound better the more the tour goes on. I have heard a couple of songs where their timing was off for a couple of notes, but that happens to everyone. I am hoping that this is no the last we will hear from them. I wonder if they are planning on releasing another album, or EP even, anytime soon.
As a Washington native, I've been to many shows at the T Dome. It was designed for sporting events, so the sound was ALWAYS a bit off there. Compared to the old Key Arena, especially. Plus, the T Dome is a lot bigger, so the sound can get boomy quick. Hope it was a great show, though...🤘
Sounds and looks amazing. My only concert with Maynard was APC in Seattle around 2000. I think they had a see through curtain for the opening song. TOOL, one of the best bands ever.

I love Tool. Been a fan since I was a teen in the 90’s and The Pot is my favorite Tool song but with that being said; it just doesn’t hit the same when it’s downtuned the way it is here live.
My guess is because Maynard is more comfortable nowadays in a slightly lower register. The vocal line on the album version goes up to A, which is high for most male vocalists and with age the ability to hit high notes declines.
@@dabstradamus If the song is played at a lower key, then some of the higher notes that Maynard would normally have to reach would also be lower and therefore more accessable to him. As he's gotten older, these songs are way easier for him to sing in a lower tuning.
Of the set, this seems to be the hardest. All the note changes and in a high register for him (even in Drop C), but of the career (accounting for blend of screaming and cleans and accounting for his change in vocality [yes I have way too much time on my hands], I think Jimmy, Pushit (Salival) and Bottom are likely top 3. At least he still screams on occasion live, shame he didnt do it in the new album. For me it was the combination of the mystique, absurd, intensity of the instruments, sounds, artwork and at last the screams of Maynard. Every member giving it all they got. For exemple the whole of Undertow. Jerkoff, Cold & ugly, Part of me, Hush of Opiate. Ticks & leeches and The grudge of Lateralus. Most songs of Ænema. And some parts of and 10 000 days. Tool has lost a lot of its intensity, losing the screams. But they are what they are. Good on them for still doing (hopefully) what they themselves want and can with their art.
