I will probably buy a backup of Aerin hibiscus palm very soon because it just does something incredible to my senses. I never ever want to be without it. I am so lucky to have a backup of both Mon Exclusif and Gourmand Coquin. Both of my current bottles of these are about half used so I will definitely get to the backups at some point. There aren't many fragrances that are worthy of backups to me but these 2 are for sure!

My all time favourite perfume is a discontinued scent called Trussardi Inside. I love it because of its sweet coffee note that is also has some florals in the background. Very pretty. I have 3 backups. I also have it's flanker, also discontinued, is Trussardi Inside Delight. This one is a feminine fresh spring/summer fragrance with citrus notes and florals in the background. I don't have any backups at the moment, but I really hope that Narciso Fleur Musc For Her, Narciso Poudree and Xerjoff - Lira will not be discontinued any time soon. I've been trying to get my hands on a Miss Dior 2017 for a while now, but it has a ridiculous price whenever I see it pop-up somewhere.
I'm curious, do you have a source to your claim that spraying your perfume the first time will start the aging process? To my understanding there's allready oxygen in the bottle as the liquid does not lie in a vacuum, and the amount of extra oxygen that goes in the bottle after spraying is so tiny that it won't make any difference.

If you're interested in perfume knowledge and/or "expert" perfume reviews, I recommend reading Perfumes: The A-Z Guide by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez :) It is very well known in the community so you may have heard of it.
I have backup-bottles from Armani Si Fiori, TF Noir Pour Femme and Armani prive Rouge Malachite. From Mon Guerlain I love the flanker sensuelle, but it's discontinued too.

I want to be the kind of person that keeps enjoying the new and not clinging to my past perfume loves. But I do miss fragrances so much sometimes. I only buy backups if they are discontinued, hard to get, or I suspect they’ll be discontinued. And I have to not know of a substitute. Right now: Tom ford noir pour femme, angel muse, kayali vanilla 28, miss dior 2017, mugler ambre redoutable. But I do think I will be getting backups of Nirvana amethyst, kilian princess, and Zara vetiver pamplemouse while I still can.
I have 3 backups for Si (although I think one of them is the wrong kind!) and I have two daisy backups and two black opium backups, (with a random opium intense my husband bought (typical for getting the wrong ones!) in there!) and a j’adore backup. Those are interesting ones. Chanel No. 19 in the silver plastic case from the early 90's smelled like steel and money to me. I couldn't pull it off and I gave it away, as well as my Chanel No. 22 in the white plastic case (powdery). Years later I truly regret giving them away, especially as I gave them to my mother who just randomly regifted it to whoever came along and wanted it. 😁 I recently bought vintage Cristalle on ebay, likely acquired from an estate sale, and I don't know exactly how it's supposed to smell but I think my bottle has gone off.
Chanel 19, Florabotanica,Balenciaga Violet, Gucci Violet discontinued, Dior 2017 formulation, Burberry Her and about 200 more I collected but these are my favorite ones
I think it would be a good idea to get a backup of Spiritueuse Double Vanille. In my experience this has been subject to reformulations over the years. For example, it was much deeper and spicier when Sylvaine Delacourte was still with Guerlain. If you really like the fragrance now, it would be wise to have an extra.
I am a back up hoarder..the moment I love a perfume, I have a constant fear of it being discontinued or prices going up, so end up buying back up. I know it's a bad habit and puts pressure on my purse but then I think I can sell it...I had several bottles of Michael Kors midnight shimmer and decided to part with one as well as another of alien essence absolue.. These went for for three to four times the price for what I bought them on bidding . My other fav back ups are Gucci flora edp (think that may get discontinued soon),decadence EDP, Mon guerlain, miss Dior 2017 (thanks to you), si fiori, crystal noir EDP (again hard to find on a good price), stell McCartney Stella EDP (discontinued) one gris charnel..still counting
I have the Kayali Vanilla 28 and I wore it yesterday and I was surprised by how long it lasted on me lol...well 5 hours at least! But what I have backups of: Elizabeth and James Nirvana White (idk why but I just loooooooove that one. it's so simple... kind of not that unique... but I just love the simplicity of it and how it's just a pretty powdery floral), and I have a backup of Elizabeth Arden White Tea Wild Rose lol. I wouldn't mind a back up of: Rose Gourmand, Kayali Vanilla 28, Armani Si Fiori, Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey, Peony and Blush Suede And the rest are perfumes I want but don't have and I can't afford right now lol: Delina Exclusif, Springtime in the Park, Lazy Sunday Morning, Coffee Break, Armani Si Intense, Mon Guerlain Intense.
I wish I had back ups of Vivienne Westwood boudoir. I only have one bottle left, it was my favourite. It was so cheap for a while and I didn’t realise it had been discontinued, I didn’t have many perfumes then. Regrets! 🙈

This only becomes sad if the perfume drops in price. Several that I used to love over a decade ago dropped in price from the $50-70 range to under $20. It happens with designer fragrances that are not Dior or Chanel.
@@sarutucigash The version of Angel EDT with the cotton candy note is the old formulation. They recently reformulated it. The old version was still available on fragrancenet about 2 mos ago. The version that's on Macy's website now is the new version with fewer notes listed.

Serious question: Perfumes for colder weather. We are still inside most of the time when it’s cold outside and inside it’s warm, so why classify perfumes like that? I understand difference of summer heat, but other than that what is the difference between fall and winter fragrances? I don’t think anyone spends night outside in the cold weather to make perfume smell better
That’s true, I’ve never actually thought about that. I guess because when I do venture out to the gym or to run errands etc, it is really really cold out here; even indoors it feels chillier. And those fresh summery scents still don’t feel right in this season. But that’s just my opinion:) we do have weather extremes here as well.

ALL of my favourite perfumes are discontinued 😭😭😭 I only have 2 backup bottles of one of them. The other 3 , I haven’t smelled them for probably 20 years and I can still remember the smell of them. One is just discontinued in Europe, still available in the USA but the brand doesn’t ship it here for some reason…

I have a backup of Stella McCartney Stella now that it’s discontinued and Serge Lutens Fleur D’Oranger because I picked up a limited edition. After watching this video I realized that I wanted a backup of YSL Manifesto, so I just picked one up. Slightly used bottle for a good deal, as sealed bottles go for at least double what I just paid. I also have some vintages (80s and earlier) by Chanel and Cartier, though they are typically smaller and I use sparingly anyway.
I have a 30ml Mon Guerlain and agreed, I’ll get a big bottle once it’s finished. I don’t feel a rush to do so though since I haven’t finished a perfume in at least 5 years.
I would love to have back-ups of perfumes but I don't want an expensive bottle to expire and go bad. It's happened to one of my old perfumes (Knowing, which is no longer sold). It really stank after it expired.

Gosh you’re so incredibly lucky to have Armani code satin and back ups. I struggle finding those discontinue scents and when I do they are overpriced.

If you ever travel through an airport check in the duty free shops. Most still have Si Fiori.
Montale vanille absolu and Guerlain SDV are backup worthy. I wear them the most, they are very comforting and also headache friendly 😊

Mine would be the Lauren Style by Ralph Lauren. It’s been discontinued and there’s no any similar scent out there. It’s my daily personal scent.

I have the Kayali Vanilla 28 and I wore it yesterday and I was surprised by how long it lasted on me lol...well 5 hours at least! But what I have backups of: Elizabeth and James Nirvana White (idk why but I just loooooooove that one. it's so simple... kind of not that unique... but I just love the simplicity of it and how it's just a pretty powdery floral), and I have a backup of Elizabeth Arden White Tea Wild Rose lol.
I wouldn't mind a back up of: Rose Gourmand, Kayali Vanilla 28, Armani Si Fiori, Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey, Peony and Blush Suede
And the rest are perfumes I want but don't have and I can't afford right now lol: Delina Exclusif, Springtime in the Park, Lazy Sunday Morning, Coffee Break, Armani Si Intense, Mon Guerlain Intense.

I wish I had back ups of Vivienne Westwood boudoir. I only have one bottle left, it was my favourite. It was so cheap for a while and I didn’t realise it had been discontinued, I didn’t have many perfumes then. Regrets! 🙈

The way I see it, it doesn’t matter if you don’t use your backup bottle. When you realize you won’t use it you can simply sell it online.

This only becomes sad if the perfume drops in price. Several that I used to love over a decade ago dropped in price from the $50-70 range to under $20. It happens with designer fragrances that are not Dior or Chanel.

@@sarutucigash The version of Angel EDT with the cotton candy note is the old formulation. They recently reformulated it. The old version was still available on fragrancenet about 2 mos ago. The version that's on Macy's website now is the new version with fewer notes listed.

Serious question: Perfumes for colder weather. We are still inside most of the time when it’s cold outside and inside it’s warm, so why classify perfumes like that? I understand difference of summer heat, but other than that what is the difference between fall and winter fragrances? I don’t think anyone spends night outside in the cold weather to make perfume smell better
That’s true, I’ve never actually thought about that. I guess because when I do venture out to the gym or to run errands etc, it is really really cold out here; even indoors it feels chillier. And those fresh summery scents still don’t feel right in this season. But that’s just my opinion:) we do have weather extremes here as well.

ALL of my favourite perfumes are discontinued 😭😭😭 I only have 2 backup bottles of one of them.
The other 3 , I haven’t smelled them for probably 20 years and I can still remember the smell of them. One is just discontinued in Europe, still available in the USA but the brand doesn’t ship it here for some reason…

I have a backup of Stella McCartney Stella now that it’s discontinued and Serge Lutens Fleur D’Oranger because I picked up a limited edition. After watching this video I realized that I wanted a backup of YSL Manifesto, so I just picked one up. Slightly used bottle for a good deal, as sealed bottles go for at least double what I just paid. I also have some vintages (80s and earlier) by Chanel and Cartier, though they are typically smaller and I use sparingly anyway.
I have a 30ml Mon Guerlain and agreed, I’ll get a big bottle once it’s finished. I don’t feel a rush to do so though since I haven’t finished a perfume in at least 5 years.

I love Mon Guerlain. I don’t have a back up yet lol. I do have several back ups of both Chloe Love Story and the original Chloe as they are lovely classics. I have a back up of So Scandal as it’s a wearable grown up sweet scent and my husband loves it as well. 💕
