I think that with Giannis' potential lingering injury along with Doc Rivers' history of not making adjustments in crucial moments in the playoffs, I'm with you Dom. I think there's a real possibility that the Pacers could upset the Bucks in 6 or 7 in the first round. I already had a feeling midway through the season that the Bucks probably wouldn't win the championship this year anyway. At most, I see them as a second-round exit.
True difficulty making predictions in this years 1st round, but I really like your reasoning when working out the play-in matchups.
I NEED the lakers to get embarrassed. Not just beat, but ran off the floor in the first round. I cannot take an entire offseason and now regular season of “ESPN analysts” talking up the lakers nonstop. “Are the lakers the scariest team in the west?” NO. If you were mid all year, you will continue to be mid. “Turning it on” looks like the nuggets this year, slow start battling injuries, but pieced it back together and still got a high seed playing elite basketball. None of this “they’ve been struggling all year, but come playoff time they’ll turn it on.” It does not work that way unless you pulling the heats black magic on their way to boring finals defeats
Hell, Nuggets got the 2 seed despite Jamal Murray being out for most of November and the last week and a half of March.

@@FiftyEight.nah the nuggets really have the best shot at being the next dynasty and I’m here for it. Unselfish stars and no excuses. Great teams win regardless of who’s in the rotation and the nuggets showed us that this year. I’m a suns fan so part of it pains me that we also have been mid and struggling all year and MAYBE take the first round then get knocked despite our insane payroll, but out of the teams in the west, nuggets are still the most likable to me

JoJo is entering this years playoffs the same way he does every year, which is hobbled and moving slow. Except this year they don’t have a cakewalk first round bye of a matchup in the first round and have to play a contender right out of the gate. And also their team is just not deep at all, much less deep than in recent years. I’d honestly take New York in 4 or 5.

I too believe that the Mavericks can win in 6 because I really think the Mavericks want this matchup. This is part 3 of their rivalry and I always thought going back to 2020, that the Mavericks could've beaten the Clippers if Luka had better help. Now that Luka has that, I think they're on the hunt to prove that they're the better team and that the 2022 WCF wasn't a fluke. I always thought the Clippers getting James Harden made no sense for numerous reasons but one of the biggest ones is that he's borderline a nonfactor in the playoffs now and I think the Clippers are going to learn that the hard way.
