Glad to see Micks done well from his association with Matt - that camper is an absolute nail 😂😂😂 would love to go fishing with them both - a day full of amazing fishing stories 👍👍👍
Love seeing that old camper, I assume it's the same one he's had all these years. I remember meeting him years ago, would have been around 08/09, at a small fishing show on the south coast somewhere. He was working from the back of the camper, meeting people and having a chat. He took the time to show me all the different pike rigs he had on display, none of which I remember but I certainly remember his camper and what a genuinely nice chap he seemed.
Loved this, brings back memories of me growing up as a young boy and fishing with my dad, travelling arond visiting diffent places trying to catch that elusive carp, sadly i never got that lucky but did catch a 10lb 4oz bream at a fishery in Nottinghamshire. Sadly lost my dad at 53 in 2011 but will always cherish those memories we made
Brilliant little series 👏 😅 The best fishing duo there is I'm only a young lad but been watching these legends for the last 15 years ! Can't wait for the new rod race !!
Relatively new to fishing, albeit similar age to Mick and Matt. Really interesting to get an insight into the lives of people you look up to. Great video.
I really enjoyed this and could listen to Mick talking about pike and fishing all day. His latest book is a quality piece of work as well, and well worth reading 👍🐊🎣
Wowzers ! That’s phenomenal Mick, really well done, always looked up to you as I started fishing as a 9-10 year old kid sone 30-31 years ago now and I still look up to you now. 🙏
@@MickBrownFishingTV Absolutely deserved mate, it’s funny because I’m called Mick too, and because of Matt calling you a variety of names from “ the duke “ a “ sir M “ in the great rod race and greater rod race, my best mate calls me “ Sir M “ when we’re out fishing because of him seeing that. I was out on another mates boat this morning on the river Tees, ( in the north east ) but we both drew a blank, thinking of going to a canal in Yorkshire tomorrow and fishing deadbaits, from the bank tho and not the boat. The river tees was carrying a little bit too much color today and I think that put them down a bit .. Oh and I see that you like using sardines as a deadbait, funnily enough that is also my favorite deadbait on my local river, barely ever get used as once thawed they get very soft, I just use some sea fishing elastic and fasten them up to get a few extra casts from them .
@@technomickdocumentalist2495 Hi 'Sir M' - great to hear how you are enjoying your pike fishing. Sounds like you have got the piking bug just like I have. Only old age is slowing me down now. (79 next birthday). I still love going though. Sardines today seem to be much firmer than those years ago. I think they get them to the market quicker nowadays and they don't go soft like they used to. Had my PB (37-08) on a sardine and lots of other big pike too. Keep on enjoying it mate and the very best of luck to you. Regards Mick
I still look at John Sidley's book on eels. There wasn't much on the species when it came out. I knew he'd pushed the limits, but didn't realise he was only 42. He came close to breaking the eel record and may have done if he'd survived. Some of his Earlswood hauls were incredible.
Fished Tewkesbury weir allot in the 80s had allot of pike plus one or two good zander especially in the back arm when the river was high remember john Sidley in his boat on the weir
Wat weight was the pike do you know my good sir i remember you coming to Ireland for the irsh pike society and fishing blessington lake as I was only 15 and was 22 years ago at this stage
I used to spend nearly every weekend in Tewkesbury with my dad and my Uncle Joe's extended family, from the age of 4, in early 1960s, until I started secondary school. We'd arrive as a big family group and fish the same areas as Mick covered. The Black bear was our second home and the basin by St John's bridge by the boatyard was our night shelter. Evesham and Lugg Mill were an occasional variation but we were always drawn back to our favourite venue.
@MattHayesFishRodRace so...im not allowed to have an honest self opinion?I always found him that way,and it's called freedom of speech. So don't get too upset. I said, I didn't miss him,I never once said I won't watch his channel, did i?...im really sorry I don't think he's the greatest thing that ever was,but it's just my opinion.
It's not fanciful at all to say that pike nourished you. It's quite a nice thought. The pike nourished your mother, then she fed you. You would have received protein and fat in that milk which was made of pike.
@@MickBrownFishingTV he never really talks much about the irish pike ....... find that a bit strange as there some off the best waters to be found in the world for pike fishing
Could listen to Mick all day, this is one of the best fishing films I've ever seen.

Awsome video
Can relate, I was obsessed with pike as a kid but ended up a trout bum. There is something mystical about big pike

Great Video's, with excellent filming and narrating skills by Matt. For me though the music was too loud and a little annoying.

How did Mick get that old dog of a Transporter through its emissions test? 🤣
Surprised that bag of scrape get yr there lol
Will you be uploading vlogs to this channel ?
Hello everyone
Hello there.
Really dont miss seeing matt hayes anymore, found him pompous snd arrogant. Good to see mick doing well.
Thanks. Considering you are watching Matt Hayes’ channel that’s interesting.
😂 Now that's funny

Then dont give such negativity. If you dont like him fair enough, but to leave a nasty comment shows your low level of intelligence. @mattlenton2012
@mattlenton2012 Well, in my opinion, you are a bellend

This film was made several years ago Adam. Currently at 432 twenties and 34 thirties. Not finished yet!
How many episode is this series ?
has Mick ever fished for pike outside of the UK ?
I know the world record pike was caught in Germany
Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Holland, Ireland and Canada.
What's the biggest pike you ever caught mate ?

Agreed Eamonn. So much to fit into the film that a lot was missed out. I barely scratched the surface, but there's only so much time.
