Ghost date?

There wasn’t a pronounced date position tbh mate, so I’m not sure what they’ve done, you can kind of feel it but it feels like the date well has been removed. This is a cracking watch and a tad different from the normal homages of the same model. Thanks for watching man 👍👍
Nice review! Are the hands painted white or brushed steel like in the white dial model? I asked proxima and they said they're brushed steel, but I heard you say "white hands" multiple times, so I'm confused.
They are most definitely white hands but I quite like that against the matte black dial. I hope that helps mate 👍👍
Nice to see it in this case. I have the OG Ix&Dao homage and my 1697 gets the almost daily wear because of how the case sits. I really struggle to get over it. Wish Proxima had came out with this earlier

a very nice watch, from what I understand Proxima QC is very good, in this instance you got unlucky....this is a very compelling offering from them, they've ticked the boxes....im not in the market fir one but if i where the price is reasonable, i don't say that very often....for me there are perhaps only two areas that could be improved upon, a non date movement and some sort of on the fly adjustment for the bracelet....🏴⌚🏴⌚
I hear you and tbh the reason I don’t mention the ghost position anymore was because, I’ve been getting 💩 for doing so for months on other watches, I take your point for sure though and an on the fly clasp would definitely elevate the watch 👍👍
I have nothing against 1:1 homages, but I believe this is really the definition of a homage which is looking like the original but different enough so as to not look like a clone. Proxima makes brilliant watches, and this is no exception. Shame about the scuff marks Thanks!

I absolutely love the original watch (Serica), so I prefer the Ixdao hommage. But fair play to Proxima for doing a loose hommage 👍
I have the PX1697 and I love it so much. Their finishing and QC control are great (surprised with the scuffs on your watch then)

Very nice watch Simon. I like it. Of the two options I prefer the one with Proxima under the 12, it's a bit unbalanced for me being blank. Ideally I'd love to see a small logo there instead as long it's not a unicorn!!
I get that mate and I too prefer having a logo of some description (unicorn excluded) as well. This one I did particularly like given it’s not a 1:1 homage 👍👍

There are three variations of this watch based the original design which in itself was something different from the generic diver we're all used to. I don't think any of them is a bad choice depending on what you want. As for the slight QC problems it comes with the Ali territory. Prices are amazing for the general quality but the odd problem watch is dispatched. I've never had anything I couldn't live with or that wasn't an easy fix.

Thank you for your review. The case on this is really nice and makes a difference from the slab sides that so many watches have. The only thing is that I'd like a solid case back for slimness and the fact that the NH is nothing to look at. I like the 12 hour bezel as I have friends abroad and would use it..
I hear you and this one actually houses a PT5000 movement, which is far better to look at than the NH35 😊

Very nice but i wiah they had the mesh bracelet. I would get that with the sellita..
I like that it has its own thing, taking the original design and making it better, in my opinion..
The ix and dao is great but i heard lots of cases of misalignment, its not seiko 😅
The tandorio is cool but isnt made as good as this like far far less..
I hear you on all counts and completely understand your opinion. I actually liked the fact that this isn’t a 1:1 homage and is different, like the bracelet for instance but that’s just personal choice. I have the Tandorio coming very soon too 👍👍
@@WatchtheTime don't get me wrong the bracelet is very very good and id live to have it on any other watch but the mesh is such a distinctive feature for the original..

The dial is awesome.... But the fitted meat bracelet is really a highlight of the OG and it feels like something's missing without that.
I get that mate and many feel the same. I like the fact that Proxima have done their own thing with it, which I applaud 👍👍
@@WatchtheTime I love what they did with the dial! It looks like they've taken a pre-existing bracelet and case.... And just not bothered with the mesh bracelet. Definitely I'm cool with the case... It's a nice one. But I'm kind of bored with simple three link bracelets... No matter how well they're put together.

Much better bracelet and dial on the IX & DAO. This looks ordinary by comparison .
I may look at the white one in a sale.
I never had the traditional IX&DAO one and opted for one of the newer ones they did but, I must say, I prefer this one all day as it’s just feels a tad less ‘cope and paste’ plus I found the finishing to be better. I’m sure you’ll like a white dial if you plump for one in the sale though - enjoy and thanks for watching 👍👍

Less of a homage than the ipose and more just inspired by IMO 👍👍
This is a great example of doing it correctly. The other "Homage" is a total rip off of the Serica which is wrong. This is not that. It is very nice and kind of unique.

They do and I completely understand where you’re coming from. I prefer it not being a 1:1 copy but if that’s what you’re after, IX&DAO is the one for you for sure 👍👍
Like you, I prefer homages NOT to be direct copies, but if you watch Gary's video comparison you will see that the Ixdao is a better watch in general@@WatchtheTime
@watchalot919 that is his and your opinion and I completely respect that but it doesn’t make it gospel. I’ve had both watches in and I much prefers the Proxima. All of these things are very subjective however 👍👍
