In C.E.75, the fighting still continues. There are independence movements, and aggression by Blue Cosmos... In order to calm the situation, a global peace monitoring agency called COMPASS is established, with Lacus as its first president. As members of COMPASS, Kira and his comrades intervene into various regional battles. Then a newly established nation called Foundation proposes a joint operation against a Blue Cosmos stronghold.

I still remembered hyping to this song infront of the tv when I was a kid. The responsibilty to wake up early in the morning to watch this series, even just for the OP is a heavy duty for a kid 😆

Aye. She made him realise what it is he wanted. When they were alone in that cave Shinns real personality started to surface again. Reason for his constant bitternes, anger and misery was that he thought he'd never be loved like that again.
Her death was the saddest in my book.

Childhood😭😭😭 I remember back in 06 my parents bought me episodes 5 at Best Buy for my birthday 😭
I remember when I saw opening of GSD ep 1. The 1. scene. Battle of Orb. Death of Shinns family. I remember it now like it was just a little back. I remember watching him say ,,I won't let it end like this." in my native tongue as he entered SEED mode for the 1. time, slew Zamza-Zah and chopped those EA ships with his 2 blades. That fire and those tears are what got me into Gundam. I had no idea it wasn't a thril ride, but a rolercoaster of emotion, awesomnes, life lessons, action and most importantly, man-made metal angels of death I was getting into. I was always at school when it was on TV so I only watched ep 12 and ep 13 fully. And then it stopped being broadcasted. Afterwards, I forgot about it for a time. But when I got myself on youtube, I eventually remembered and watched until the last episode where I couldn't believe the inJUSTICE that was done to Shinn. Afterwards I stopped watching last 4 episodes. And soon after I only watched AMVs. And after that, I drifted to other timelines. But the movie reIGNITEd my passion and love for CE and most importantly, for everyones favourite red-eyed wonder.

Shinn could have been better if Destiny had a better story. But the plot in SEED is probably what carried Kira as a protagonist. Seed just had much better writing than it’s prequel.
Takanori and the animation make this opening such a strong representation of the 00's that it made me want to cry lol. The true spirit of mecha, which I hope will return.

I love how most, if not all, of the games that feature GSD all properly make Shinn the MC of GSD. The SRW Z series, ACE R, etc. The creators of those games all knew Shinn was screwed over by Fukuda and his lackies and made him the MC he should have been, while still keeping Kira and Athrun important.
@@Shinji103 It was Chiaki Morosawa, Fukuda's wife who write this because of scandal happened 20 years ago.
@@Stars_Excella I heard of that whole debacle while I was watching the series. But Fukuda didn’t exactly say no, did he? Because it was easier to be lazy and bring Kira back in to cash in on his fanbase than it would have been to write character growth for Shinn and make him a proper MC, let alone write it well.
Even though I largely favor UC Gundam, without Gundam Seed/Seed Destiny, I would of never discovered and gotten into Gundam as hard as I do now. Been a Gundamhed since 2005 bc of Cosmic Era Gundam.

Destiny had such a strong start; kick ass op, Durandal’s words to close off each episode, and constant character development for shin.
Then Jesus Kira came back. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kira as a char, but I feel so short changed thinking about what Destiny could have been.

He was. Until Fukuda and the writers sold him out for their cash cow Kira. It’s still clear as day they originally planned for Shinn to be the MC, just as clear as it is they later deliberately sabotaged the path into a good character they had built up for Shinn in the first 12 episodes. Much, if not all, of that terrible writing they did to make Shinn look bad is still super cringe…….
