Honestly one of the most hype OPs ever. It really has the perfect start with those strings and then the yelling and the breakdowns. Gets the blood pumping immediately. I love Sorairo Days, for example, and it's one of the hypest ones, but even it isn't this front-loaded. Only the OPs to Shingeki no Kyojin, Ping Pong, and OnePunch-Man really compete, off the top of my head.
Iron blooded orphans was such a great series for newcomer , I was always scared for getting into Gundam , and this one really build my love for this fandom

Barbatos is meant, contrarily to all other gundams to look brutish and animalistic, while others are generally pinacles of refined tech, the gundams of IBO are just three centuries old machines with so much power they were called after the Demons of the Ars Goetia. The theming of the IBO gundams is almost inverse to that of regular gundams in all senses almost.

God, I love this show so much!!! Gundam Wing will always hold a special place in my heart for nostalgia's sake, but Iron-Blooded Orphans is my absolute favorite series in the Gundam franchise!

Most times all sides have a just cause to fight for and can rightfully claim that they are fighting righteously despite the consequences of their actions, whereas in 00 its more of a cut and dry approach, not to mention the second season gets a little ridiculous. Im all for suspension of disbelief, but dont build a show up to be heavy hitting just to make it another typical gundam story, IBO did it way better than 00. However its definitely a matter of preference and 00 just appeals to the more mainstream mecha and anime fans, while those who like a darker and more realistic plot get driven towards IBO

But Eugene does have a tedency to pull insane stunts Rage Of Dust: probably my favourite: Akihiro. Dust can be considered as something irrelevant or Worthless. A theme thats carried heavily by Human Debris. Akihiro kinda becomes the embodiment of the Human Debris Anger. A Rage of (space) dust And finally Fighter: Mikazuki. By the time this song comes along Mika is half paralyzed. He may of not known he was going to die in battle but i think he had a feeling. Or at the least he didn't have a plan. I'm a Gundam fan since i've watched Gundam Wing in 2004-5 on German free TV. But Iron Blooded Orphans turned into my favorite Series of all maybe in my Top 5 Anime of all time. Its so good i dont have really words for that tbh. So Tekkadan raise your Flag!

I love this opening, but it's not because it's "hype" or "awesome" to me, rather it's because it's heartbreaking in a rage-filled, "last stand" sort of way, which nicely encapsulates the series as a whole. On the surface (including via the title) it sounds like some anthem, but at its core, there's a sort of maddening desperation to it, perfectly translating the self-destructive struggle for survival of the main characters. Tekkadan's survival required them to "raise their flag", that is, to be recognized as humans with their own rights and freedoms - and the whole unjust world they lived in rejected that, essentially telling them that there was no room for that flag of theirs. No, this doesn't sound like the triumphant theme of action heroes, it sounds like the dying howl of wolves being hunted. There's no blaze of glory here, just the painful scream of child soldiers self-immolating in the only environment they've ever known, war. I love this song for that, and that's why it will forever remain one of my favorite anime themes.
I'm not sure if anyone else does this but I love thinking about piloting one of those mobile suits, playing out the scenarios/fights in my head like a movie. Makes me happy that even though I'm 22, I still have the imagination of a kid sometimes

Yes, but honestly I kinda like the way they chose which characters had to go for the most part (why Lafter tho), those who died were mainly those who couldn't find a life beyond the battlefield or were too damaged to realistically find a way back from the trauma and heartache that they endured, and in the end although their deaths seemed liked they were out of the blue, it was truly a noble sacrifice from those who couldn't find their way back after the horrors they had endured. Despite the odds they chose to fight on so the others could have a chance to live a life they could never be content with
I loved how all the opening songs were so upbeat and alive while the ending songs were all so depressing... This is by far the best anime I’ve ever watched!
No joke used this as a prerace hype song in high school had some pretty good races and even some wins I like to thank the anime OSTs and OPs for giving me inspiration.
I recorded a video of this opening playing on my TV on my DS as a kid because I didn't have access to the internet and wanted to watch the Opening whenever I wanted.
I started watching all the Gundam shows on Netflix in order and when I got to Iron Blooded Orphans. Well let’s just say I am fine with so far calling this my favourite Gundam series ever and in my opinion has some super cool Gundam designs especially with Barbatos himself. It also manages to have a main cast that isn’t annoying and just enjoyable Mikazuki Agus being one of my favourites. And as others would say this is 100% a show that would get you into gundam if you haven’t already.
i want more brutal fights like here on IBO, i wish they make a gundam series where theres no evil people, good people just humans fighting for what they belive in, and a very badass protagonist cause why not
Honestly I feel like IBO is closest we'll ever get to that kind of show. Even the "evil" people like Jasley and Nobliss still feel human and have some sort of code that they live by/defend (even if it's largely their own self-interests).
The entire universal century has no "evil" people, UC is the main timeline if you don't know, I suggest you watch it, it presents both sides as nothing but people with redeemable and irredeemable qualities, even in the original, 0079, it's why gundam became so famous because it was the first to show war in that light, gundam the origin also does this (also UC timeline) although they aren't as brutal as IBO obviously, also sorry for replying on a 1 year old comment

I like how they didnt only use laser rifles in this series and actually went for the cockpit melee kills and not just a explosion like in the old ones.
I came here after The Witch from Mercury. I like it. But this...I love this. It's gritty. Not much lasers. Plus, I really dig the design of Barbatos. Except for the 6th form, it's just fine.
This song bring back all the feelings. Hopes, hopes crushed, then having good hope back again. So much of roller coaster. I hate it when most of them dead, but the end, its still beautiful. Their death brought hope to the new generation. I hate & love this series at the same time. So many mix emotion.
After this I just went straight to amazon and bought the master grade Barbatos after watching this, even though I haven’t watched this series yet. But I will, it’s been on my watchlist.
I am sitting here at stupid o clock reminiscing. I feel ill thinking about how awesome this show was. Also I might just be a lil sick but that's beside the point. I don't know If I'd be able to rematch it.

Yes, but honestly I kinda like the way they chose which characters had to go for the most part (why Lafter tho), those who died were mainly those who couldn't find a life beyond the battlefield or were too damaged to realistically find a way back from the trauma and heartache that they endured, and in the end although their deaths seemed liked they were out of the blue, it was truly a noble sacrifice from those who couldn't find their way back after the horrors they had endured.
Despite the odds they chose to fight on so the others could have a chance to live a life they could never be content with

I loved how all the opening songs were so upbeat and alive while the ending songs were all so depressing... This is by far the best anime I’ve ever watched!
Was never really a fan gundam originally but this.... this is really something special

Thought I was ready to watch this intro after so long but still feel teary 😢
I recorded a video of this opening playing on my TV on my DS as a kid because I didn't have access to the internet and wanted to watch the Opening whenever I wanted.
I started watching all the Gundam shows on Netflix in order and when I got to Iron Blooded Orphans. Well let’s just say I am fine with so far calling this my favourite Gundam series ever and in my opinion has some super cool Gundam designs especially with Barbatos himself.
It also manages to have a main cast that isn’t annoying and just enjoyable Mikazuki Agus being one of my favourites. And as others would say this is 100% a show that would get you into gundam if you haven’t already.
i want more brutal fights like here on IBO, i wish they make a gundam series where theres no evil people, good people just humans fighting for what they belive in, and a very badass protagonist cause why not
Honestly I feel like IBO is closest we'll ever get to that kind of show. Even the "evil" people like Jasley and Nobliss still feel human and have some sort of code that they live by/defend (even if it's largely their own self-interests).

The entire universal century has no "evil" people, UC is the main timeline if you don't know, I suggest you watch it, it presents both sides as nothing but people with redeemable and irredeemable qualities, even in the original, 0079, it's why gundam became so famous because it was the first to show war in that light, gundam the origin also does this (also UC timeline) although they aren't as brutal as IBO obviously, also sorry for replying on a 1 year old comment

I like how they didnt only use laser rifles in this series and actually went for the cockpit melee kills and not just a explosion like in the old ones.
Only anime I love whose every OP is Awesome and just gives you the vibes of wrecking a whole army.
This was sitting in my to watch list for a while and it quickly became one of my favorite animes with the first few episodes.
It's also one of my favorite anime.

This song bring back all the feelings. Hopes, hopes crushed, then having good hope back again. So much of roller coaster. I hate it when most of them dead, but the end, its still beautiful. Their death brought hope to the new generation. I hate & love this series at the same time. So many mix emotion.
