Pavel is the man. His Power to the People book is great. I've got nothing but respect for that guy.

I was there in Reno. Smartest thing I ever did. I have the book, and the videos too. They are all worth much more than I paid. The material is for professional coaches and serious competitive athletes. If you feel you need to buy another book to get strong, you've been buying the wrong books. If you just want to be strong get Power to the People. It's 35 bucks shipped on Amazon. If you have the ability to follow the instructions in PTTP, you will become strong, and you can stop buying books.

What kind of progress were you able to make after applying the principles in Pavel's book? If you don't mind sharing.

No, he said that Top lifters rest up to 30:00 min between sets for the nervous system to recover from the set. To point out why increasing resting time might be benifit strength training.

why not? if it has valuable info that could give you the edge you need to become better at your passion. a book that cost less than a DVD or blueray movie is a small price to pay

Looping snatches, why is it taught that way? The purpose and benefit of the olympic pull, is to transfer all energy simultaneously upward. Hip, knee and ankle, triple extension is an athletuc attribute, but only gained with extending the entire body upward in the snatch, not looping the bar like they do. They should stay away frol oly lifts stick to what they know. Kettlebell is not a bar

What shocks me is the fact that people stand in the way of their progress so frequently.
15-20 minutes rest between exercises? Going 1/3 to 2/3 of the maximum number of repetitions
per set and making the fastest progress this way? It's this "minimalist" approach that make many
    people so incredulous. Definitely "counter-intuitive".

I have to now agree with this easy strength theory as i am seeing it for myself using these parameters. Although i have read that the Chinese Olympic lifters who have done so well in the most recent two Olympics take only 90 seconds rest between sets. I have no doubt they take 15-20 minutes between exercises.
I recently read on Sportivnypress that the Khazak team is using a program with 15-20 minutes between exercises but that between sets they need to maintain a "high motor density" and appear to only rest about a minute between sets.

Yes. Now I don't know if your american but the huge misconception is that we have to do what you stated earlier and that it's the right way. We don't even really research weight lifting. The American weight lifting program seems to have just appeared and everyone is to ignorant to change. I quit weight lifting with my high school teams because I chose to be a lazy lifter and I got hell for it. So I do it by myself and I like it. I lift with no shoes on and like to be on the ground like what pavel says. Because people get to comfortable.

Yes i am American. There is a hodge-podge of strength systems in our society. Some do HIIT,some the 3-5 minute rest before repeating squat efforts and i have never seen what i am doing now which is taking the long rests between sets and exercises. I think it's the work ethic in this country that causes us to rest short. We feel as if we have not worked enough !

Yup. People get the conception that working out means you have to be moving 24/7...
