*UPDATE after further review, I was wrong about many things in this video. Destiny 2 sorely lacks endgame content and the actions taken by Bungie recently are a clear sign their glory days are long gone. See this video for full details: th-cam.com/video/3zYzPQmFRsM/w-d-xo.html

The Act Man Thanks for the video man, I loved destiny 1 but even I was sceptical about the Destiny 2 due to hearing about how it has been dumbed down or is only meh.
The Act Man, are the enemies difficult? I heard from a few reviews that you could just run through most missions without shooting anything cuz they do nil damage.
"There's somber moments. When the music slows down. Things are quiet and it makes you think," Act Man says as he is bouncing all around like a Mexican jumping bean.
Destiny 1 at launch: garbage Destiny 1 at its end: actually pretty good Destiny 2 at launch: appears good at first but then you realize it doesn't have all the great changes the 1st got... Destiny 2 now in 2020 with Activision gone: actually pretty good. This series has had so many ups and downs its baffling
Pretty annoying though how when you make a new character you already have all the abilities and are light level 750. I installed the game to try to get the platinum for it but they changed the game u.i. so much i can't find shit or where to go. I deleted this piece of shit game not even 1 hour later.
Only gripe I have with the story is how quickly you get your light back. I was hoping for the Halo 3: ODST vibe where you aren't a super soldier spartan and just a very skilled yet vulnerable marine/ODST.
I think that wasn't really a problem per say, but it is something that I would've been better. Or maybe I just love the amazing setup of tone and theme in that sequence :)
Samuel Haines Music during that scene where we were pretty much fucked up was just amazing. I know it seems like a nitpick but I really would've loved to see something reminiscent of feeling like "I seriously can die" can strike the player with relatable feels.
The Act Man I'm definitely gonna wait to see what the expansions have in store. If Bungo brought this to us, imagine what they can do with in the future. Destiny 2 isn't perfect by any stretch but it pretty much was the game we were supposed to get 4 years back. A real decent improvement.
And "Make your character look like a raging homosexual and go off to spread the word of the LGBT community." had me fucking laughing for the rest of the video! XD
RvB had more than that tho, as primitive as the first seasons in CE, they were moving around, using vehicles and weapons. And of course the dialogue was actually good and interesting XD
@@micheal4007 in shadowkeep the free aspect was good. You had access to the red war campaign , curse of osiris and warmind. But then the DCV nation attacked and removed those from the game.
Destiny 2 has just gone way downhill now. In my opinion, D1 is better than D2 now just because of the amount of D1 content they’re bringing back. They’re just trying to save the game any way they can now.
@@Big.Bird.06 The Witch Queen Campaign was actually really good, and I say this as someone who passionately rants about everything wrong in every DLC Campaigns, as well as the blatantly slimy marketing and the practically non-existent character progression, including the lack of streamlined story (I can explain that term if you want), the obsession with forced multiplayer in places where the game is mind numbingly easy, but no matchmaking in places you mechanically can't complete alone. Not investigating the raid and dungeons, I had a LOT of fun with this Campaign. Story and world-wise, my main gripe with Destiny was that the characters never ask enough questions about obvious stuff, they always seemed to either accept something at face value, or know stuff the player didn't. I was beginning to fear this as I went through the quest, going through one of the Pyramid ships, thinking to myself "What's piloting these things? How do they function?" and expecting it to be the same problem as every other quest in the game, but then about 20 seconds later, my Ghost literally asked that same question. I was so surprised and interested. One of my biggest questions about the world of Destiny was "If the Darkness was so powerful that they reduced Humanity from all across the Solar System down to a single city on Earth, how weren't they strong enough to finish us off and why did they leave?" Well this DLC has an Exotic quest where you find that very information out, not only that, but the main quest basically establishes the Thanos of this universe in The Witness, with Savathun basically being the female Loki of this universe. This DLC seems as if the writing team was shifted, if that's the case, I look forward to what comes next. This has to be the best DLC I've seen/played across the whole of Destiny (low bar, I know), even The Taken King.
The main reason why I go on Nessus besides its awesomeness is the Nessus Pursuit shader, I use that on literally everything and my Warlock looks kinda like my Sith Sorcerer in SWTOR lol
"Now you may have heard various things about this game." (Thanks for the reply Act Man. I've been watching you since your Halo 5 series. I'm so glad you did that five part series.)
GrĪм RЄÂקЄR well I wouldn't use it for big transactions but for a game you want to get for 20-30 dollars it should be fine, besides if you are scammed you can open up a claim and eBay will give you your money back. I found some great deals on there and got halo 5 digital deluxe edition for 10$
People just overreacted. Havnt paid a dime and ive gotten hundreds of shaders.. ive easily gotten atleast 5-6 of the same colors so I can complete my whole fit.. or i can use currency from bright engrams and selling shaders to just buy the colors I like that are on rotation. People honestly overreacted over the whole shader system
I left D1 right before TTK launched and I'm glad, that game was a complete joke and if you played all of it I'm sorry that you wasted so much money on overpriced dlc. I on the other hand will pick up Destiny 2 when it goes on sale, it looks like the devs learned a lesson and took the good stuff from D1 and left all that bad shit behind.
D1 had many problems, though I think it rather sad that you stopped playing before TTK dropped. I actually thought it was rather good, as far as D1 goes.
10:00 what you described is more or less Zavala's trailer during the D2 reveal, but I understand what you mean. Most of the reasons why we should be invested for the Last City was in the grimoire and even what can be considered a few throwaway line in the first game regarding it as the "last safe city," which most of the people skeptical or hating on Destiny and it's off-game lore wouldn't know about, so I kinda wish they added some lines at least for those people so they can care about the Last City.
The Consul wanted revenge on Calus for removing his Caballs, and exiling him. He was using Ghaul, to get revenge. And when he found out about the Traveller, he saw an opportunity. (Caballs, heh heh heh. My immature 5 year old self laughs excessively.)
Lol that's your reason? My dude the soundtrack is legendary. This guy did a great job. He WORKED with Marty, but it doesn't seem like a knock-off of previous work. It seems like a well rounded, unique OST with a little Marty magic sprinkled in.
My issue is the music isn't quite as handcrafted as it was when Marty was around (something he insisted on doing in all his work). He would make it so it fitted the scene, the mood that was being conveyed, that particular part of that particular battle. In this the music is fantastic still. But sometimes you get music that isn't fully matching the situation. It's a big contributor to what made the Halo games so brilliant.
Yep it is an overall improvement. But there are also aspects of D1 (that we asked for as a community) that are inexplicably absent in the sequel; Quest tracking for example. Other things have been changed that didn't really need the focus. While the subclass tweaks are good. It would have been better if Bungie actually overhauled them, and made each class (Hunter, Warlock, Titan) actually fit a specific role within the fireteam. And although I can't deny they're gradually fixing what they've done wrong. It still doesn't feel like a true sequel. I'm not asking for massive changes. But it feels like the biggest expansion to date + update (A la 2.0 D1 update) to switch the game up a bit. For me, a true sequel would have been Bungie aiming more toward reviving that initial vision they had for Destiny, the one that included such intrigue and wonder. An fps with RPG elements set in alien, but somehow familiar locations that have loads of exploration in them. Combined with the kind of loot that is reminiscent of Borderlands, it could have been epic. The loot took a hit too though, for the sake of PvP balancing. Don't get me wrong, in one sense it worked! Crucible now feels much more about skill (with weapons) and less of spamming abilities. You have to rely more on teamwork; which is great most of the time, but when playing solo, (which a lot of people do) is why they need to bring back FFA at least. Instead of having completely separate weapon balancing and a blacklist for Gear too OP for Crucible, they change the whole game. They remove the random weapon rolls that made the loot worth grinding for, that made finding those god rolls so satisfying. We lost Heavy Machine guns altogether. Instead of having alternate, Heavy variants of Fusion Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Shotguns, they've been outright relegated to that spot for the sake of PvP balance (which is greatly appreciated but) limiting loadout combinations and making gunplay feel more stale, as you have two primaries, and less of the more varied weapon types to try different tactics. The reason why I played since day 1 of that beta, and why I kept coming back for all 3 years is because I saw Bungie's initial vision and I wanted that so bad. After time I learned to except that wouldn't happen and enjoyed Destiny for what it was. But now we've even lost aspects of that to this new, slimline sequel. And it just makes me feel that doubt, and disappointment that I'm going to have to wait months at least for Bungie to patch it up to the game it could be. Edit: Good video though! (and apologies for the enormous rant)
destiny 2s story is not new or groundbreaking but its decently solid a jack of all trades if you would. sure its played alittle safe and they dont take many risks but it is unquestionably superior to destiny 1s
I feel like they relied on Destiny 1 players being so used to the tower and having many fond memories there to make us care. When I played it I was literally angry because I saw them destroying what I used all the time before. And to see things like the sweeper droid and the courtyard, it was just amazing
I honestly thought the game would be pretty meh, but I've had a hell of a lot of fun with it. Pretty much the same experience when my girlfriend showed me The Beatles, but there was a lot more exam ignoreing with the ladder.
Something cool i noticed about it was that if you were a veteran it skipped over the exposition about stuff you already know, and you got to keep the goblin-like shmuck you made in the first game.
at around 21:00 you state that they want to exact revenge against the traveller, this is not true however they wished to enact revenge against the rest of the cabal empire that tossed them aside, and to do this they would 1) go to the traveler and take the light, those shmucks don't deserve it anyways 2) go home with your army and light in hand and fuck them up/ prove your worth 3) be emperor in summary i feel that the cabal are just one of the smaller villains in the franchise and if you saw at the end credits screen SPOILERS the traveler awakens, the golden age is restored and shit just got OP however just at the edge of the galaxy something lurks, something big. and after going through concept art and planning from destiny 1 we learn something: 1) these beings appear to be smoke-y and ghostlike 2) their ships are fucking massive 3) this new "pyramid ship" race is the darkness; the beings that forced the hand of the hive to turn from an exploitative and peaceful race into a power hungry parasite; that destroyed the fallen when they had the traveler in their possession forcing them to chase it and fight for it back as they believed they had it stolen. This spooky smonk race is probably being held for a later sequel as if it has the significance we think it does, it means bungo have finally decided what the darkness is and it's probably gonna kick us in the ass.
Well, the Darkness directly as far as we are aware is not what made the hive what they are, but more a deal with the Wyrms. Your daily spoonful of Destiny lore for you! The more you know
I'm glad there was a "no spoiler" part of the review, I have to wait a whole other month for the PC version to come out so I'm avoiding pretty much everything on this game... but it was an Act Man video so I had to click on it, even though I only was able to watch like 15 minutes. Can't wait for the PC release!
That cabal at 15:01 sounds like Cephalon Simaris, that bald guy that shows up at the beginning of the game has a protective bubble skill like frost, that tiny flying thing that speaks to you occasionally sounds like Ordis and Warframe literally had a syndicate called the red veil since like forever ago. But I understand that destiny 2 didn't 'gather inspiration' from just Warframe but a whole bunch of other games.
It also has the best roast in all of video games. Also on the map, it shows the world eater(the raid) near Nessus, and when you go to Nessus, you can actually see it.
Such a nostalgic trip watching this post-Witch Queen. Going back into Destiny 2 and the new season sounds like a fun idea for a video. Would totally volunteer to help drag you through the current game.
Bro you are a professional at reviewing. Like everything I think about a game you review I think when I play and it's also changed how I review stuff 👌
4:28 in destiny 1 it was fallen version(not the problem) but in destiny 2 you fight him about 3/5 through the campaign on the third planet, there is till one more planet to go to and the off planet 2 end missions.
And I guess keeping it the same makes it feel like it's in the same universe, but they coulda done a little thing here and there. Like a reload animation being a little different.
slvrcobra1337 Lost Sectors Adventures Great Campaign Raid Revamped Public events 2 new social spaces Redesigned loot "grind" New characters and vendors High Priority Targets Dozens of scannables of lore in the world Lore tabs on Exotics and relevant gear New supers Much more team oriented Crucible Trails of the Nine And a lot more and so much more to come.
I'm still upset you never reviewed Forsaken. Forsaken was a true sequel and easily the best content Destiny has produced (not that... that is saying much lol). Destiny 2 is now back in the shit hole unfortunately. It lacks true purpose, lacks engagement, and makes the same mistakes it has been making since 2014. I wish we got the Destiny that we all dreamed of.
It was becoming very difficult to find a non-bias review of this game... I love to see someone to put their personal hate aside for a terrible game and judge its sequel fairly as its own thing! Keep up the very detailed and great reviews my man, you definitely earned a sub.
Also last city is important because 1. Last humans alive(not counting the people that run but at least %90) 2. Darkness came so they had to hide under travelers light, then it went dormant and created ghosts(now at the end it appears to be active) 3. Where most guardians get light(this is because of the shard)
Interesting that you don't seem to have came back with an update on Destiny recently after Forsaken and all the other great content that has revitalized the game. Just no time?
@@ak0097 Oh no they took away Wrathborn hunts and a planet that has like 2 strikes that you can still play 1 of anyway 💀. In all seriousness, of course I would like all content to stay, but if still don't realise why it's done then you're probably a new player.
29:55 - What the hell? Why would you pay money to buy these when you can get them in game? When the game is fun? That's not the point. The idea of REQUIRING you to grind to get items is the crux, and is bad for overall game enjoyment. If the game is too good, then people won't buy as they have fun anyways, and hence, developers need to add a "pain point" (something the player wants to remove / get over) in order for them to spend money. This means, making the overall game less fun to grind. The idea that you CAN unlock items in game, OR pay real money is the issue. It's manipulative and undermines the entire game. Just because microtransactions aren't pay2win, doesn't mean they are good. And of course they used silver as the currency. Because you don't realize it's actually money. You fell for it, hook line and sinker. Same psychological thing with credit cards, it doesn't feel like you're spending money, so you spend more. Purely manipulative. Why are you siding with microtransactions and thinking they are ok in a $60 AAA game? This is how things get worse. You think they are ok, and then they make them slightly worse over time. Be against ANY microtransaction in any AAA game, especially ones that modify gameplay. Purely cosmetic ones (like overwatch) are perfectly fine, as the base game gives an alright amount of choice for customizing (even though I think it takes too long to grind for credits).
Sorry man, didn't mean to imply I sided with the microtransactions. Meant to get across that I didn't see them giving players a blatant advantage or that it affected the balancing. I could be wrong about that, I just never witnessed it personally so I didn't feel the need to shit on the Microtransactions this time around. Also post level 20 I still feel like I'm getting a lot of loot and good items so the game doesn't seem to be heavily pushing you towards buying them by creating an obnoxious grind for all items in game Hope that clarifies.
Yes it does, I would just be more terse about why you say certain things regarding microtransactions, as your voice is heard far. You never want to perpetuate the idea that microtransactions are good in any way, they are only an added cost.
One of the only issues I had with it was that it was too easy. Even the nightfall strike which was one of the hardest things in D1 was a breeze when you have 3 competent people at the recommended power level. I haven't done the raid yet, but I'm hoping it's not been babyed down too
Destiny 2 may be an improvement, but I think that the season pass ultimately drags it down. If they copy the same thing that they did with the last game with multiple $30 dlc, I won't be surprised
Seeing as how this game impressed me, I bet the dlc would be worth it. I enjoyed the Dlc for the first game and this major improvement. But that's my opinion as to why I will buy the DLC but hey. It's just an opinion.
21:08 He didn't want revenge on the traveler, he wanted to become emperor of the Cabal, Ghaul was only the commander of the Red Legion, the emperor of the Cabal is the guy we fight in the Leviathan Raid, Calus with the power of the traveler they would become gods and could kill Calus
This review told me exactly what I wanted to know changed from Destiny 1 to 2. Best review I've seen of it and I've watched just about all of them. This video has sold me on the game. Great job Act Man.
My friend says that destiny is just you genociding the enemies and i say they did a genocide to us, they destroyed everything. And then I say Pokemon is just you enslaving innocent creatures and he shuts up
The frame can drop to about 5-15 on titan when you start up a heroic public event but that only happens when like 5 people use supers all at once on a boss
This is the first video you've made that I've actually mostly disagreed with you. That said, nothing wrong with your opinions. Just don't agree. I thought Destiny 2 was meh. To me, it was more of the same, even though it has more stuff. I also didn't think the story was all that great. Sure, the level design is eons better than the original, but I thought it was just alright. It's not bad, but it wasn't good either. That's just my opinion though. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy the game actually has a story this time around, with dialogue, an actual plot, and characters, but a story is a "must-have" for any standard FPS title, so Destiny 2 doesn't get extra points from me for having it. (Not that you did, Actman, but it's something I've seen a lot of people defending Bungie on.) Regardless, I'm glad you've found it to be enjoyable! I appreciate the points you've pointed out, and I respect them! As always, great video! Keep up the good work!
Right man, that's totally fair! I can def see your side and why people may not like it. I felt like since the game made such immense improvements since the last, it was worth it to make a positive review. Also, I've been having a blast with it! Thanks for being a respectful dude! Keep commentin!
loafhero Its not praised for its story from what I've seen, the story is pretty good tho and later on content like raids, Nightfalls, and Trials are just fun, but thats me and somebody else might find that fun, personally I have a whole group of friends with Destiny 2 and I have a shit ton of fun
You missed something...Destiny 2 has been stripped of content into a soulless husk. If you are thinking of buying it.....Think harder........I trying to get my season pass refunded, because it's crap !!
Okay, everyone is giving this game so much praise. Listen if you played the other expansions than this nothing special, it's been a lot better since the taken king. I don't feel that this game is really anything new. It also doesn't really have enough content for 60$. This is coming from a fan that's been there from day one.
I know this is a small point but I didn't see it mentioned in a comment. The Cabal consul wanted to over throw Emperor Calus; that was the revenge mentioned: nothing to do with the traveler. By the time Destiny 2's story takes place this has already happened. Ghaul goes after the traveler as he's been intrigued by it since he was a child. He was also notified that the Hive have plans of stealing it by the Skyburners during the taken war which is what brought about him attacking personally as if the Hive did gain the traveler they'd be almost unstoppable. At this point the Consuls "revenge" is just used as a way to control Ghaul. That's also why you "fight" Calus in the raid. After being banished to his leviathan ship Calus saw what the Consul and by extension Ghaul were doing to the Cabal. Calus didn't believe in all the fighting and saw it as pointless as he valued life and the grandeur accompanying it. He wanted the Cabal back under his reign so he made a plan to gather the strongest warriors of many species and overthrow the new Cabal leadership. The raid is nothing more than trials Calus has set up to allow the guardians to prove to him that they're worth being possible allies.
Is it worth $60 though? There is a lot of games coming out that would be more worth my money, so should I buy this instead of...I don't know, Battlefront of something? And I had a thought, maybe the character customization is the same, for people who played the first game, so that if they made a Guardian design they liked, then all the same customization will still be there, and they won't have to search through a bajillion other customizable things to find what they liked most. Just a thought, might be true, might not be, but either way just my opinion.
Sir Ocelot As a veteran of Destiny 1, who chugged through the laughably bad vanilla story and every expansion, Destiny 2 is undoubtedly worth it. I've played it every day since launch and I'm still not done. Also, if you completed the base campaign for D1 on your profile, D2 saves you the trouble of making a new character.
If you don't buy many games or like to save money, might consider waiting for a price drop. If you're good financially and want to check it out, I'd say it's worth 60$ That is a good thought on the customization, I think if it was a lot different people could still figure it out pretty easily
So as far as enemy design, the only enemies that look different in D2 are the Hive Knights, Acolytes, Shriekers, and Wizards, and the Cabal psions and Colossus. They're very subtle changes, mostly the heads on the Hive have more of a crown look, and the cabal have different designs almost altogether
It feels much more like what I expected Destiny 1 to be, so I love that. A kind of "Space Skyrim," Shooter/RPG exploration game. I like how they carried out the design of a sequel too, same-y but different-y. Keeping everything *almost* the same. No art style changes. Not pulling a 343 and suddenly making Jackals look like bipedal alligators. So it keeps that feeling of nostalgia, but makes the gameplay better to such a degree, it's hard to put into a coherent thought, much less a sentence. Less RNG and more (fair) gunfights. More emphasis on teamwork with the Overwatch style points system. And that soundtrack is something else. Track 11 of the OST, "Journey," that plays after the fall of the city is hard to not enjoy. That feeling of powerlessness as you play without powers makes you feel stuff, but that track adds a bit of hope. And the environments are jut gorgeous. It's what Destiny 1 should've been and more. I love it, and the grind is ON.
I actually got over 1000 hours in the first and seeing how this sequel, can take those 1k hours I made in the first game and do it even better, is incredible! BTW: I already got the game and Im not disappointed :D
Randy Marsh could say that about anything. Think of all the adverts we watch. All the TH-cam videos we don't really care about. Films we watch. Wasted time. However, is it wasted if we enjoyed that time?
Marius Olsen What I got from your comment is "You cant like Destiny because I dont like it" vibe so yeah, I know D1 could have been a better, but I enjoyed the game for what it was and that is all that matters to me, if you didnt like that is ok, but the way you say it I couldnt care less! I may be the reason D1 is "bad"(for you at least) but you are the reason gaming is so toxic right now, and that is just the cold hard truth. Stop telling people to like or not like stuff and you may be ok.
Randy Marsh Your logic is pathetic, I enjoyed my time in D1, so lets use real logic, if me or someone wasted 1000 hours in D1 and those 1000 "wasted hours" were enjoyed throughtly by me or that someone else in the game, can they really be considered wasted hours?
I think that if they showed the Zevala trailer before the first cutscene, it would have addressed your first complaint about not knowing about the city.
20:07 "I guess it works"................... WTF Act man! Did bungie give u money to say destiny 2 was good! Act man come to ur senses! This is what u fought, u sacrificed hours of time so we didn't have to fight garbage. It was said u would destroy the garbage and BS not join them. U were my best TH-camr, u were great. Seriously why?
Many games like Destiny 2(MMO's) always have this role-playing option you can do with your character. People like to think of their own lines while going through the story, or simply monologuing while your character sits back and watches in silence. Like it or not, it isn't a truly BAD thing, it's simply a matter of preference if you want to build your own character.
You're right. I just watched I Hate Everything's review and he shows contradictions with the first game and confusions throughout. Also examples of bad writing. Act Man didn't tear it down in his usual fashion. Look at his videos on halo 5 ... huge difference.
Destiny 2 is so awesome because its 2 times the amount of half ass game development compared to the first game. Remember anything that you could say was good about Destiny 1 well guess what they gone and watered it down even more for ya ,you like choice let me go and put some water on that water for ya. The only good ideas bungie has are who should we steal from next and pray we don't get sued. I look at games analytically a sum of all its parts unbiased ,a case by case bases as well as legacy. It got a 6 out of 10 that's generous I gave it a 4 out of 10 because I don't give free passes. At least you can say your part of the reason everything is so screwed up because your a self in titled coward who doesn't give a shit about anything but your next fix. You like america will have a choice to make as thing get worse and worse will you be a ghost in the body of a zombie ,human drift wood ,sub human mannequin people or do you get up off your knees and hold everyone accountable like they do to you. What's good is if your the epitome of your faults your disease will pass down to your children along with your ingrained fetal alcohol syndrome passed down through generations multiplied by the fact anything you say has no merit and then there will be no doubt that you are nothing ,just cancer on this world. Yet babies are aborted because of the collective ignorance of cretins like you ,babies who are your better in every way have no right to speak ,there potential forcefully unrealized but clowns like you get to continually aid in the devolution of are species. Does living in your lies and delusions make you feel warm or are they just the necessity to your safety to ward off the true notion of lunacy to your fictitious sanity etc. You Cake Eater. Paying 300 dollars for something that is only worth 20 well they both have the same quality doesn't make you better than anyone else but it does make you dumber than everyone else. That with the fact with a little bit more than 20 dollars you could have your own name on said product. Patriotism = Indoctrinated Cowardice but you know this every time you look in a mirror.
Just Zack merely raising some consciousness to more important things well raising everyone else's game in this world. Every little bit helps in the end. The truth hurts but now you can do something about it. If you believe you and everyone else is worth more than just being treated like cattle being experimented on and completely expendable as the government believes. Well they actively pursue a path to replace you. You have the chance to replace them first before your world becomes unrecognizable.
What?... Why are there so many butthurt fans of other games? And please, say something that doesn't amount to "You're American so you're automatically a coward." And just fuck off, since I'm Australian and I thought that Destiny 2 was a decent game.
Destiny 1 is still alive, at least on Xbox. Today I was getting the Black Spindle for my Titan. Made a post. In less than 10 minutes 2 experienced players offered to help me, and in less than 1 hour I got that Black Hammer remaster. Crucible matches are also easy to find.
Improvements: Story Multiplayer Loot Disappointments: PvE Difficulty (it's way too easy) Micro transactions Story locked off to DLC Graphics Re-Use of assets
Sure, It's better than D1 but story in D2 just.... ends. It'a anticlimactic as hell. Also even tho there are guided games - matchmaking is still missing. So for people like me, with full time job, family etc. This game will lock most of it's end game content. Comparing to games like Borderlands, Diablo 3 and even the Divsion - it's terrible idea. Let people play as they want without blocking entire chunks of content.
So are we just gonna ignore more MT (something you raped Halo 5 on), pay to win with payable mods, day 1 dlc, easy as shit balls campaign, zero and I do mean 0 changes to character customization, and limited end game ala Destiny 1? I gotta say, Bungie played their cards right. Release a absolute shit game, then make a decent one and suddenly everyone's leaping to suck your caballs. Is Destiny 2 better than Destiny 1 vanilla? Sure as fuck it is. Good job, you now have the same claim to fame as something like Watch Dogs. Is Destiny 2 better than Destiny 1 with all expansions? No. Then why the fuck did they make a new game? A sequel should be better in all aspects to its predecessor, like Borderlands 1- 2. Instead we get rehashed classes, sub classes, models, gear, exotics compared to Destiny 1 with a abundance of the stuff due to stacking expansions.

Why Was Destiny 1's Campaign SO BAD?! ► bit.ly/2yjVbY3
Conor Greeves Yes it takes time, never months tho haha! Rest assured I got some more vids on the way soon!
The Act Man is it bad that I wanted kiba to beat yu gi in Yu-Gi-Oh!
if its enough players in destiny 2 on pc then maybe i will buy it when it gets discounted
Things are quiet and it makes you think," Act Man says as he is bouncing all around like a Mexican jumping bean.
lol
Simon Petrikov As a Mexican I aprove to this.
*"That old familiar feeling"*
I Know a Halo 2 reference when I see it.
Wait, nobody commented here yet?
Odd
Nexeno Justice glad to see someone else who recently watched this video 😏
Destiny 1 at launch: garbage
Destiny 1 at its end: actually pretty good
Destiny 2 at launch: appears good at first but then you realize it doesn't have all the great changes the 1st got...
Saul Gonzalez people can have opinions
@@Rentted and I have mine. What's your point?
Saul Gonzalez some people just like the game and that’s ok
Nah Destiny 2 right now is not good. During Forsaken? Now that shit was awesome.
That would've been pretty cool! Hopefully the storytelling gets better in future iterations/DLC
That part was so awesome. I didn't want it to end.
Bro the little clips you always edit into your videos have me dying😂
And "Make your character look like a raging homosexual and go off to spread the word of the LGBT community." had me fucking laughing for the rest of the video! XD
This guy is not pc like other youtubers and i love it
Sasha Partan "dress yourself like a raging homosexual"
I'm part of the LGBTQ community and I also appreciate it! Jokes are fine as long as people aren't asshats. Which the Act man is most definetly not
Sasha Partan Anti PC just because it's superior huh? Well I'm 100% sure he mains PC but since D2 on the PC isn't out yet he opted for console
EminemSlimShade if thats a joke then lol, but if not, when i said pc that meant Politically Correct
Sasha Partan oh shit I'm sorry lol the toxicity of console gamers effected me for the worse

RvB had more than that tho, as primitive as the first seasons in CE, they were moving around, using vehicles and weapons. And of course the dialogue was actually good and interesting XD
What's disappointing is that all of this great content doesn't even exist anymore, great decision Bungo!

I was listening to this review while doing stuff on Nessus lol
The main reason why I go on Nessus besides its awesomeness is the Nessus Pursuit shader, I use that on literally everything and my Warlock looks kinda like my Sith Sorcerer in SWTOR lol
I was listening to this review while jacking off lol
And now, a year later Cayde is killed in the dlc
"What's up everybody? This is the Act Man here!"
"And today..." (lets keep this chain rolling, we'll write our own little story)
"I'm going to talk about the masterpiece that is Sonic 06."
"Now you may have heard various things about this game."
(Thanks for the reply Act Man. I've been watching you since your Halo 5 series. I'm so glad you did that five part series.)
"But one of the biggest things you've heard is just how big of a fat penis it sucks."
I actually really want to see you review Sonic 06 now....

The Act Man thx
GrĪм RЄÂקЄR well I wouldn't use it for big transactions but for a game you want to get for 20-30 dollars it should be fine, besides if you are scammed you can open up a claim and eBay will give you your money back. I found some great deals on there and got halo 5 digital deluxe edition for 10$
Just wait until the Gold Edition or whatever edition that comes out a year later with all the DLC included with the base game and then buy it.
Fuck the new shader system tho
I honestly have gotten lucky with mine XD
People just overreacted. Havnt paid a dime and ive gotten hundreds of shaders.. ive easily gotten atleast 5-6 of the same colors so I can complete my whole fit.. or i can use currency from bright engrams and selling shaders to just buy the colors I like that are on rotation. People honestly overreacted over the whole shader system
i have too many shaders tho
I like the way theyve done it. Theres so much more to pick from.
EminemSlimShade I just find the whole "shader controversy" completely laughable
*Laughs in veteran of the franchise*
I left D1 right before TTK launched and I'm glad, that game was a complete joke and if you played all of it I'm sorry that you wasted so much money on overpriced dlc.
I on the other hand will pick up Destiny 2 when it goes on sale, it looks like the devs learned a lesson and took the good stuff from D1 and left all that bad shit behind.
ttk was when they turned it around. . .

No marty O'Donnell :(
Cold Moonlight yup :( no Marty, no buy!
Love Marty with all my heart but Michael really took his legacy to the next level
Destiny 1 Soundtrack > Destiny 2 Soundtrack
TBF, it's not too hard to have a better story than a game that has none.
#SmurfsAreOppressed ya the bar has been set pretty low for Destiny 2 while the bar was really high for 1. I've seen several IPs do this.
Better than Halo 5
I would say yes, especially compared to H5 at launch.
Destiny 1 and Halo 5 are in the same boat
I feel like they relied on Destiny 1 players being so used to the tower and having many fond memories there to make us care. When I played it I was literally angry because I saw them destroying what I used all the time before. And to see things like the sweeper droid and the courtyard, it was just amazing
I honestly thought the game would be pretty meh, but I've had a hell of a lot of fun with it. Pretty much the same experience when my girlfriend showed me The Beatles, but there was a lot more exam ignoreing with the ladder.
Something cool i noticed about it was that if you were a veteran it skipped over the exposition about stuff you already know, and you got to keep the goblin-like shmuck you made in the first game.
at around 21:00 you state that they want to exact revenge against the traveller, this is not true however they wished to enact revenge against the rest of the cabal empire that tossed them aside, and to do this they would
1) go to the traveler and take the light, those shmucks don't deserve it anyways
2) go home with your army and light in hand and fuck them up/ prove your worth
3) be emperor
in summary i feel that the cabal are just one of the smaller villains in the franchise and if you saw at the end credits screen
SPOILERS
the traveler awakens, the golden age is restored and shit just got OP
however just at the edge of the galaxy something lurks, something big. and after going through concept art and planning from destiny 1 we learn something:
1) these beings appear to be smoke-y and ghostlike
2) their ships are fucking massive
3) this new "pyramid ship" race is the darkness; the beings that forced the hand of the hive to turn from an exploitative and peaceful race into a power hungry parasite; that destroyed the fallen when they had the traveler in their possession forcing them to chase it and fight for it back as they believed they had it stolen.
This spooky smonk race is probably being held for a later sequel as if it has the significance we think it does, it means bungo have finally decided what the darkness is and it's probably gonna kick us in the ass.
Inverted Duck it will probably just be dlc. I doubt they'd leave a cliffhanger like that and not continue it at least a little.
we will probably get more hints that they are getting closer the more dlc we get but we wont officially see them until D3
Well, the Darkness directly as far as we are aware is not what made the hive what they are, but more a deal with the Wyrms. Your daily spoonful of Destiny lore for you! The more you know
I must've missed that or misheard something. thanks for the clarification!
the worms are a part of the darkness or at least work for them do they not?
17:09 the way Cayde moves his hands while talking is so entertaining for some reason 😂
The sniper animation in halo never changed from halo reach

4:28 in destiny 1 it was fallen version(not the problem) but in destiny 2 you fight him about 3/5 through the campaign on the third planet, there is till one more planet to go to and the off planet 2 end missions.
On the animations and assets. If you reuse assets you save money and time to create new stuff, so I don't really mind
Maybe if they didn't waste all of that time on DLCs.
this is true, with such a huge budget, new animations can go along way in how the game feels, you know?
And I guess keeping it the same makes it feel like it's in the same universe, but they coulda done a little thing here and there. Like a reload animation being a little different.

I wish we got the Destiny that we all dreamed of.
for some reason, when you said Guardians... the first thing that popped into my mind was, Space Police.
It was becoming very difficult to find a non-bias review of this game... I love to see someone to put their personal hate aside for a terrible game and judge its sequel fairly as its own thing! Keep up the very detailed and great reviews my man, you definitely earned a sub.
Also last city is important because
1. Last humans alive(not counting the people that run but at least %90)
2. Darkness came so they had to hide under travelers light, then it went dormant and created ghosts(now at the end it appears to be active)
3. Where most guardians get light(this is because of the shard)
And also the D1 nostalgia.

I've been waiting sooo long for him to talk about this game !!!!!
Purely cosmetic ones (like overwatch) are perfectly fine, as the base game gives an alright amount of choice for customizing (even though I think it takes too long to grind for credits).
hmm true you bring up good points
Sorry man, didn't mean to imply I sided with the microtransactions. Meant to get across that I didn't see them giving players a blatant advantage or that it affected the balancing. I could be wrong about that, I just never witnessed it personally so I didn't feel the need to shit on the Microtransactions this time around. Also post level 20 I still feel like I'm getting a lot of loot and good items so the game doesn't seem to be heavily pushing you towards buying them by creating an obnoxious grind for all items in game
Hope that clarifies.
I haven't done the raid yet, but I'm hoping it's not been babyed down too
Destiny 3-
Well, we have a Battle Royale instead of Campaign!
The walker on-screen at 30:55 looks like a miniature AT-TE from Star Wars.
What in D2 is a major improvement?
21:08 He didn't want revenge on the traveler, he wanted to become emperor of the Cabal, Ghaul was only the commander of the Red Legion, the emperor of the Cabal is the guy we fight in the Leviathan Raid, Calus with the power of the traveler they would become gods and could kill Calus
Hmm didn't even bother to pick up the game after the original but this video has changed my mind!
Yea man! I recommend it!
Thanks Act Man!
And then I say Pokemon is just you enslaving innocent creatures and he shuts up
FighterJet he actually right that's a pretty big part of house of wolves
(Not that you did, Actman, but it's something I've seen a lot of people defending Bungie on.)
Regardless, I'm glad you've found it to be enjoyable! I appreciate the points you've pointed out, and I respect them! As always, great video! Keep up the good work!
Big Denny Wow, valid critical thinking without outright shitting on the game and it's fans by saying they don't like games? You have my respect
Right man, that's totally fair! I can def see your side and why people may not like it. I felt like since the game made such immense improvements since the last, it was worth it to make a positive review. Also, I've been having a blast with it!
Thanks for being a respectful dude! Keep commentin!
PiplupParadox appreciate it dude!
loafhero Its not praised for its story from what I've seen, the story is pretty good tho and later on content like raids, Nightfalls, and Trials are just fun, but thats me and somebody else might find that fun, personally I have a whole group of friends with Destiny 2 and I have a shit ton of fun
Cayde 6 seems like the equivalent to Sargent Johnson from Halo.
You missed something...Destiny 2 has been stripped of content into a soulless husk. If you are thinking of buying it.....Think harder........I trying to get my season pass refunded, because it's crap !!
I've had a frame rate drop when I was in a Heroic PE (the glimmer drill) I was amidst a TON of fallen and supered(?) (striker) and killed them all.
Okay, everyone is giving this game so much praise. Listen if you played the other expansions than this nothing special, it's been a lot better since the taken king. I don't feel that this game is really anything new. It also doesn't really have enough content for 60$. This is coming from a fan that's been there from day one.
Bruno Kieszkowski I also love destiny but I feel like I get enough value for the price. It's a big improvement even after the changes made by ttk.

This is what happens when the bar is so low you could step over it.
Depends on how good Battlefront 2 and other games end up being and what you're into. That's up to you to decide.
If you don't buy many games or like to save money, might consider waiting for a price drop. If you're good financially and want to check it out, I'd say it's worth 60$
That is a good thought on the customization, I think if it was a lot different people could still figure it out pretty easily
"Here here here we go.... If you know the words you can join in to... DK Donkey Kong." Good background music.
I just watched a 50 minute long video explaining why destiny is bad.
Forgotten Syrup I hate everything is proud of you
So as far as enemy design, the only enemies that look different in D2 are the Hive Knights, Acolytes, Shriekers, and Wizards, and the Cabal psions and Colossus.
They're very subtle changes, mostly the heads on the Hive have more of a crown look, and the cabal have different designs almost altogether
It actually is awesome now :D
Playing this with my brothers was one of the most memorable moments we had. SWBF2 and Urban Reign
It’s a much much better game now
It feels much more like what I expected Destiny 1 to be, so I love that.
Tierstobro T
I actually got over 1000 hours in the first and seeing how this sequel, can take those 1k hours I made in the first game and do it even better, is incredible!
BTW: I already got the game and Im not disappointed :D
A thousand hours 😒 noob. I'm a semi noob with 1600 hours. My friend has over 2600 hours
Randy Marsh could say that about anything. Think of all the adverts we watch. All the TH-cam videos we don't really care about. Films we watch. Wasted time. However, is it wasted if we enjoyed that time?
Randy Marsh Dude, don't be a dickweed.
Alright, I guess this answers my question I asked you on xbox...😂
When theres a statement you have to say about something, there will be a spongbob meme to go with it
20:07 "I guess it works"...................
Like it or not, it isn't a truly BAD thing, it's simply a matter of preference if you want to build your own character.
because the new game is actually not garbage this time reasonable review tbh 8/10
Hi And be a Man! I hated one 2 fixed all my problems and then some.
Still think that? @Siraceman 13420/9 & @Norman Vids
Watched the whole video. Where do I support. I love this. This just makes me more hyped for the soon to come content
This Act man is not the Act man I know
Hi And be a Man! Yes it is dummy.
You're right. I just watched I Hate Everything's review and he shows contradictions with the first game and confusions throughout. Also examples of bad writing. Act Man didn't tear it down in his usual fashion. Look at his videos on halo 5 ... huge difference.
I haven't had any fps issues... until I used Orpheus Rig on a Heroic glimmer extraction event.
AgeofAeon Wow
Just wow
Bro, save the essays for the classes you failed instead of a video about a ded gum diddly darn video game.
I don't know who you're directing that to but I don't think they're gonna bother reading it anyway so
Just Zack merely raising some consciousness to more important things well raising everyone else's game in this world.
I unsubscribed.. just to resubscribe after that LGBT line 😂 love you act man!!!
Improvements:

Adam Wiley Nice bait
nah its mediocore at best.Except for ost,it the fucking best.
ciber demon wonder how is bait is now man
You can really see how little act man played the first destiny, as he didn't know many things he said d2 had were actually in d1 as well.
No way, the donkey kong 64 music in the beginning gave me nostalgia
Notavication squad 😁
11:15 That is some Halo 2 tier dialogue right there
So are we just gonna ignore more MT (something you raped Halo 5 on), pay to win with payable mods, day 1 dlc, easy as shit balls campaign, zero and I do mean 0 changes to character customization, and limited end game ala Destiny 1?
This whole review was such a casual take
