“You will always be my friend” hits even harder knowing Gyatso was very close with both Roku and Aang. I can only imagine how happy he was to learn Aang was the next Avatar. “Some friendships are so strong they can even transcend lifetimes”
I think is good but i think is deper than that, Roku and Gyartso wheres aroubd the same age, Aang was and orphan growing up under Gyasto care, Gyatso was the only parent Aang ever had.
This scene really breaks my heart. It shows that Aang, despite being the avatar, is still a child, a child with the whole weight of the world on his shoulders. Aang is 12 years old, and he just saw something that no 12 year old child should ever see, let alone witness: the dead corpse of one of his loved ones seen right in front of him, and the fact that he was taken from this world in a VERY painful way.

I loved how they changed this scene. Y’all gotta remember that Katara and Sokka just met Aang; Gyatso was his friend throughout 2 lifetimes. It wouldn’t have made sense for Katara to stand there and call out to him in the middle of a tornado

If you ask me, that's the closest we have gotten to an actual evil Avatar (Unavaatu not withstanding). I mean being apathetic is one thing but imagine if that Avatar actually wanted to wipe out humanity. The Avatar may have great power but they are still human. Meaning the Avatar is just as susceptible to darker emotions as any other human.
I have Gained Multitudes of More Enemies...All Documented
If it was like this for Monk Gyatso I wonder how the Desert will look like 🤔
There is so much missing from this adaptation. What happened to viewing the statues of past avatars as they light up when Aang enters the avatar state? Where are Katara's heartfelt words that help calm Aang down? Outside this scene, why wasn't Appa in the ice ball, why did he appear from the sky randomly? Why isn't Sokka funnier? Honestly this is such a diminished version of the original I gave up right after this scene. No point watching this watered down rendition I'll just rewatch the original animation.
No wonder the original creators left the crew for this series.
Toxic fan alert
And There Are Bodies Of At Least 10 Comet enhanced Fire Nation Squad Around Him.....
0:03 Gyatso's remain... 😢😢😢😢
One of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire original series, Aang seeing the dead remains of his beloved mentor.
His skeleton symbolizes the genocide of the Air Nomads at large too.
Its ok, but the animated scene is way stronger with Katara struggling to reach him proving her compromise with Aang to stick by his side no matter what...and Katara's touch which ultimately helps Aang , who gives her the most menacing look eyes glowing, snap out of the almighty uncontrolled Avatar state. Despite changes like this one, I hope they make book 2 and 3.
The cgi looks really bad in Aang's face.
But the scene in general is very emotional. The ost is really good.
I like it more here than the cartoon.
Does anybody wonder what happened to Aang's parents, I've always wondered that for years
Think they died. He was an orphan. Probably similar to Katara where they lost their lives fighting the tyranny of The Fire Nation
@@dreamsteddybearsmasterKatara and Sokka's father is still alive though.
damn GYATso really dropped his gyat on us....
"turns to the darkside ???? no went into the avatar state uncontrolably -_-
For Example:My Grandfather was excommunicated for being A Decent Man and Faithful to Jesus
"turn to the dark side" 💀
They ruined the impact of this scene by having grangran tell Aang about the Air nomad genocide before he went to the temple
Enemies Trancend Lifetimes as well
I cried 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Still pulls on the heartstrings 💔
Why does cgi aang look like nick cage?
E:R is gonna have a field day with this one scene.
I will not take anything he says in face value, but I am interested in some of his opinions. Some changes were actually great, so I want to see if he acknowledges it or pushes a narrative about it being terrible.
@@AmitCinematicUniverse Same. I think some of his criticisms regarding Korra are exaggerated.
@@kasaibouF29
I'm glad we agree.
Knowing him, he will probably spend like 5 minutes about Gyatso being fat or the Airbenders having a holiday for the comet.
I will throw hands if he says something against Netflix Han but not about Katara's unearned overpowered skills.
Don't be sorry aang gyatso died with honor
To be honest, all of us liked it when aang went into the avatar state in the original animated series, hell I know that u all got goosebumps, but for the live action, I didn't feel that reaction u know, that feeling of 'okay, this dude is conjuring up ultimate power'🤷 I didn't feel it guys, Gordon is a great actor u know, the best casting for aang, but I think he should work on facial expression when he goes into the avatar state
0:25 Was he sad? he looks like was forcing the tears out
more like anger and sadness
Kinda like GOHan when her turn super sayin I’m the CHAMBER 😅
Callious brother
Katara does not feel like Katara in the animation tho 😢
I know. Her performance was pretty weak. Katara has a lot more sass and emotion.
@@kristindhawkes yes Honestly I dissapointed when I see this. Kiawentiio as Katara She's not try to comfort and calming him. why oh why Kiawentiio😒😧😬 please try comfort and Calming down him as Original Katara in the our beloved animated series.
I mean it showed that her saying his name made him finish the memory lol @@farizhistorylover9419
News flash, it wasn't just her. Wait till u see sokka😂 what happened to him
Cause this one is a much realistic approach to trauma and PTSD cause by the way. She has her moments and I enjoyed her growth and gaining confidence throughout.
This scene is so good and I’d say more emotional than the cartoon, but… what’s with the weird effect on Aang’s face in the Avatar state? It looks like uncanny CGI
They Hate The Law and they hate me
2:00 Great special effects in Avatar State, I love it. This show is amazing!! Thank you Netflix!
Avatar state scenes are the worst, they lookl like superheroes.
@@alfredohumberto2222So u think Netflix made the Avatar state up GTFO😂
@@alfredohumberto2222 no they look like they did in the cartoon pretty much except a more realistic version.the only downside to this seen was the status of past avatars did not light up.
I feel like it would have been better if this was the last we saw of Gyatso
He went down fighting
2:19
I'm wondering who is Aang's parents. His family tree was not mentioned.
I wish they released the music from the scene on the soundtrack and they didn’t.
they did, it's in "Aang becomes the Ocean Spirit" at 1:50
0:12 1:34
I hope there is a movie about avatar imiq and lua
yo desfogando mi colera por qué estoy resfriado y no puedo respirar
So the theory of Gyatso sucking up air that suffocates the fire benders around him didn't happen...
Not in this universe but in original still possible and incase you say they might be the same ang flying without his glider, in non avatar state, says otherwise
@@xderrodecki8905 "not in this universe" Oh, God. Here y'all come with that comics bullshit. 🙄
In live action Gyatso fights Sozin
@@justrandomthings319 sadly its the best way to look at things that way you dont get continuity problems from retconning or other such things and its used in many forms of media not just comics hell even pokemon does it with things such as pokemon black and white so i would like to ask you not be sassy with me
They finally got the names right😂
Wheres the raw emotion?? He just looked like he was trying to take a dump. Everything around had more emotion than he did
Agreed! Truly fan of the animation series but this cast (not entirely) does not give me Avatar vibes
They are just kids. I can understand it is hard to find a child that exactly looks like Aang that can also act really well
@@hoineenietjij3331Then they shouldn't recreate the series in it's entirety. Find better actors who are not unexperienced kids and film a sequence to ATLA, which would show Aang after the war, more mature, grown etc. Or just don't do anything, leave ATLA as it is, just a perfect animation. Really hurts to see all this hard work, great CGI and thought get held back by such a simple thing as Acting...
did you even see the original it was done just fine imo.
I cried in the animation and cried here as well
