You can block the path of Anub'arak with Skeleton Parties close to the base. He will get through eventually, but it saves some gold you can invest in even more parties. I had no poison talent for Quillboar but a slightly higher average level at 25.3 and won with 40 seconds left.
Thanks for the video! I finally got onyxia! Just a useful tip, because of the max 12 Beatles for this hero, during overtime, rotate between unbound, and make sure all the Beatles get killed before placing another one. One of my mistake is the spam bats from base during overtime, and then the Beatles are trapped in close to the base and couldn’t get killed instantly, and wouldn’t be able to maintain poison.
Finally did it after 10 or so tries, thank you OG! Average army level was 25.1. One note I had for anyone struggling - I always failed if the AI sent the gargoyle from the middle (closest) tower. I was able to clear it easily after getting it to send it down the right lane, giving me a lot more time to kill it. I'm not sure exactly what did it, but I had a lot of minis swarmed around the middle tower, potentially having it send from a different location.

@@shinjawong2173 With Headless Horseman it could be done quite easily, but now we don't only have a leader, not a mini to upgrade as high as we can (so 120 gold, not 90 and 1200, not 900 with Rare-o-matic), but also we have 3 LEADERS to buy on a 30-day event. So yeah, for a F2P player rare is the max rarity we can get for all this 3 leaders (so only 2 talents bought).
Talents are offered on regular basis, but for random minis who are missing them. If you have lots of minis with open talent slots, it can take weeks to see a talent for a specific one.
The way I play it in this video, Witch Doctor with Spirit Ward is essential for taking down the Whelps. However, you can also kill the Whelps with Skeletons and Dire Batlings, I'll have a lower-level clear video coming soon with a Witch Doctor below 24. But cutting it altogether, I'm uncertain. There are no more Beast/Undead unbounds you could add to the deck. You'd want to be able to cycle. I wonder if Cheat Death could work as it has been used in some variants, although not as a replacement for Witch Doctor. Also, with high enough levels, the explosion Doctor might be able to clear the eggs. Hard to say without testing.
@@OldGuardian Well finished to do my dungeons for full gold, made same team and talents than you but replaced Witch Doctor with Necromancer with talent mage summon and used some bats+skeletons as you said to help out when needed and got it super easy 2 try, with lvl 25,3 team 👍 thanks again!
I just tried this on my alt. 2 runs I almost got him, but after reset time I struggled to get first tower. In addition, Anub Arak often slips by the skeles and voodoo lv25 does not solo whelps anymore. Hotfixed or am I tired 😂 My alt Voodoo troll does not have the shield talent, that maybe a problem.
Got it down on my alt too. I used Darkspear Troll with headhunting talent instead of Witch Doctor due to missing Spirit Link talent. Troll with 3 gold can clear all eggs and whelps and survives. Offtalent Which doctor + Quillboar will both die and cost 4 gold, also depending on 2 minis.
I'm 1 or 2 levels behind for the minis and just can't survive also I don't have the right talent for the skeleton army.. GG Have you tried on your fresh account?

you cant do this strat without lv 26 witch doctor. i try with lv 25, only can clear half of egg. and Anubarak high lv is needed too, if you wanna take middle tower. So basicly you need proper Anu and Witch Doctor for survive
If 26 Doctor doesn't work you're either not using the shield talent or you're placing him wrong. He needs to be in max range when he attacks the eggs, and eggs at the back being popped prematurely by a beetle or smth similar can cause him to die as well. I managed just fine with a 25 doctor, and did a lot of pulls with 24 doctor in the past.
The hands are not randomized again until you win. You can change the position of every other mini except for Kobold and Leader with army slots, but Leader is stuck where it is.
Blizzard nerfed this strategy today. RIP.

Yeah, "survive till overtime" is the hardest part of the fight. Especially when Anub is conveniently the last mini in the opening rotation.

It actually works without the poison talent because Anub summons a beetle for Quilboar too. You only lose the ability to extend if Anub dies.

Turtle already 1-shot the boss with this comp with a 25 Witch Doctor and 23.7 average. 24 Doctor should be enough based on previous Onyxia strats.
