I made it a little different by adding classes to each day. For example, there are five hours (checkboxes) under Monday to Thursday and three ones under Friday. The best thing about this is that I can work on my phone as well. Thanks a lot. Now I need to know how to make a copy, a backup of this sheet every week. I know that it keeps the history of changes but I need to have backups every day, just in case.
That's amazing to hear. I'm glad you were able to custom it to fit your setup. To make a copy, just go to File > Make a Copy. This will allow you to create a copy of the entire spreadsheet. 😊👍

Hi, this is great, thank you! How would I be able to add an attendance trigger function, for example: 3 occurrences of not attending within 26 weeks, 5 in 52 weeks etc or 3% over 52 weeks?

This is so helpful, thank you! I am implementing this tutorial for staff attendance of organization wide events throughout the year. Is there a way to adjust the formulas so that if an employee is either out on leave or was not yet employed at the time of the event, their overall attendance percentage will not be affected? Ideally this would look like a third option other than yes or no, I suppose? Would love to get your input!
You are very welcome! Super glad you found this helpful. 😊 And that's an awesome question. There is an easy way to do this. All you have to do is delete the checkbox for that specific instance. The formulas are written to count either checked or unchecked boxes. So if you just delete the checkbox, it will not affect the attendance percentage at all. That would be your third option. 👍 Also, to delete a checkbox, select the cell with the checkbox and press the delete key on your keyboard. I hope this helps!
Beautiful tutorial, thank you for being so direct and straight. Please is there a way to automate this attendance with the data coming from a google form
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the tutorial! And that is a great question. Unfortunately there is no simple and easy way to automate this attendance sheet with a Google form. But I am so sorry I cannot provide a simple answer to you in this comment.
Great Tutorial, Thank you. is there a way to have the names in alphabetical order and if you need to add in a new person/name keep it all alphabetically arranged?
Thank you for your feedback. That's a good question. For this setup in particular, the best solution is to type in the names, select them, right-click, view more cell actions, sort range. Then start logging the attendance data. After that, for new names, it would probably be easiest to add in the names in the proper place to keep everything in alphabetical order. Just select the row where the name should go, right-click, insert a row above or below, and add the new name. I hope this helps.

Amazing work! I followed the tutorial exactly as you taught us. However, I wanted to download it as an Excel file, but the file isn't working. Could you please show us how to convert this file into MS Excel? Thanks in Advance!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you were able to follow along and complete the spreadsheet. Unfortunately, this template was not originally designed to be converted to Excel. However, if you are using the most updated version of Excel, it is possible. When you download the Google Sheets spreadsheet as an Excel file, all of the checkboxes will have transformed into FALSE values. They will probably show up as ### because the cells are not large enough to show FALSE. You can fix this by replacing all of the FALSE values with checkboxes by going to Insert > Checkbox. Again, this will only work if you have the most up to date version of Excel. I hope this helps.
Yes, I'm sure you could modify it that way. You'd have to change a few things though such as the formulas, and maybe replace the checkboxes with numbers.

Hi, I really like the organization of this spreadsheet however the issue that I'm running into is it does not account for scheduled days. Is there any way to edit it to include different scheduled days on and off for each associate?
Here is one thing you can do. If you delete the checkbox for the days that someone is not scheduled, then it won't count as a Yes or a No. So just leave the checkboxes in the cells for the days that each person is scheduled, and that should do the trick I think.
