Thank you for this amazing tutorial! When I click on week 1, for day one (my class is only one day a week) it selects attendance for all students even when I do not click the checkbox with their name. How can I fix this?
Hmmm...here's one thing you can try. Delete the checkboxes in any cells where you don't want to count the attendance. See how that works. Let me know if you have any other questions.👍

when i do the progress bar it says Error Function DIVIDE parameter 2 cannot be zero.
If you don't have any assignments listed, you will get this error unfortunately. Try adding a few assignments and see if the error goes away. If not, let me know and we can take another look at it. 😊👍
Thank you but how do you put in an event with a range of dates without entering it into the Events table for each individual day?
Unfortunately with this design, the only way to add an event that spans multiple days is by manually entering that event for each individual day. I'm sorry that's the case.
Thanks for the info, now assist on how to change the year because we are in 2025 now and this formular is showing 2024 date
To change the year, just select the cell containing the year, and type in the year you want which in this case is 2025. That's all there is to it! 😊👍

My biggest advice is for you to watch part 2. It will show you how to add events to the calendar that dynamically update whenever you change the year or month. 👍

I'm so glad you found this video helpful! 😄 For your question - to account for half days, you'd have to use numbers instead of checkboxes and then change the formulas to add up the values differently. So it would be a tedious change. I'm so sorry that's the case.

This is amazing, I have been looking for a way to track my employees attendance outside of checking my text messages from my guys. Thank you! Is there a way to add in a tardy column to attendance, or would that screw up the percentages? Is there an easy way to do that after I have created this in full?
Thanks for watching! It's so cool to hear that you can put this template to such good use! And that's a great question. So one thing you could do is use the excused absence column as a tardy column instead. That would be the easiest thing to do. Now if you want that extra column, it would take quite a bit of work to modify the template to include it. The easiest time to include it would have been at the beginning. I'm so sorry that this is the case.
@@spreadsheetlife Understood! So I could not copy the formula into an extra column on the Jan-Dec pages and again on summary, then add that 4th option to the Pull down bar on days? If you are at all willing, I could start over and rewatch the vidoe and add that in where the time would be right to do so. Thanks for the help!
Right. I mean, you could, but then you have to update things like conditional formatting on every sheet, double check your formulas, make the required changes there. It's definitely possible, but quite tedious if you're not super familiar with the template. I tell you what, since you've already built it once, send me an email at info@spreadsheetlife.com. Hi, sorry, but I don't get your point when you start entering the formula =sequence (6,7......). What is 6, 7? It's not fully mentioned in your step.
Thank you for asking about it. So the 6 and 7 tell the SEQUENCE function to create an array that spans 6 rows and 7 columns. If you have more questions let me know. 👍

Hmmm...have you both selected a month and entered a value for the year? If you have not done those things, it will give you an error.

Hi there. That's a good question. Yes there is. If you leave the filter buttons on the table, you can use them to quickly sort the date. If not, you can still sort the date by selecting a cell in the column you want to sort by, and then right-click and select sort. I hope this helps.

I am so sorry, but with the way this template is designed, it would be quite tedious to modify the graph to show 13 months instead of 12.

What if I need more Event's to vover per day? I need to add new rows and copy paste formulas?
Yes, you would have to add more rows underneath each date, and more columns to the event table.

How do I add notes or mark specific dates within the year. When I add a note it is added in all the cells in every month.

Can we use this to make dynamic calendars for 4 people to export their data from their calendars?
That might be a stretch for what this template is capable of. Your are welcome to give it a try, but it might work out. It's hard to say without some more context.

First of all, thank you so much for the spreadsheet tutorial (I bought it because I don't have time to do it) I still have one question: I already have an excel sheet with all my monthly expenses. Would be very useful If I had the savings sheet and my monthly expenses in the same excel file, but in different sheets. How do I do that without having to do everything from 0? Is there any way of simply moving one excel file to another to create 1 file with two sheets? Thank you in advance.
Thank you for watching, and for the purchase! That is a great question. You can indeed move Excel spreadsheets from one workbook file to another. What you have to do is open both workbooks, then right-click on the sheet tab that you want to move, and select Move or Copy. Under "To book", select the other spreadsheet, and click Ok. Thanks this is great! How do I add event to this calendar? Lets say if I select current month to display, and I want to add different events to the specific dates and make this plans for the whole year. Then by selecting month, I want to see only planned events and dates I have planned them for.

Hi! I have been following the guide since Part 1 on Google Sheets. Now I have encountered and issue that the event dates does not go over to the calendar side. I have tried fixing it but am unable to. Could you explain why do we have to but B7 in the Vloopup? And after wards the number changes according to the row -1.
Let me see if I can help. So VLOOKUP references B7 because it wants to look at the date that's in that cell and use it as the lookup value. The VLOOKUP function then references the Events table and searches for that lookup value (from B7). Once it finds that date, it returns the corresponding value in the 2nd column (because we enter a 2). So that's what is going on. Loved your video! Will you advise me on which of your videos will help me create a tracking sheet that will help me track objectives, action steps, who is assigned to each, deadline dates, % of project completion that is all linked and able to be shared with a small team? Whew… I know it’s a lot but I need to manage multiple grants with each of their objectives and action steps and outcomes. A bonus would be to be able to track the budget and grant expenses as well.

You can certainly add cell protection to cells to prevent them from changing, but it might be a more tedious process than you were hoping for. I had completed all steps, but events is not showing in may calendar date ???
Did you rename the table to "Events?" This might be the issue.
