And, as those amazing engines are enclosed with clouds and then back to that view you realise how we take for granted these wonderful machines that take us around the world. I've been flying since 1967 and loved every journey I took.
I liked the clicking camera in the background! It helps demonstrate that people love this majestic and amazing industry! No one's taking pictures of accountants doing their thing. ;)
I've never been on a 747 in my whole life. I missed out on the final Qantas joy flight out of Brisbane but my God I don't think I could watch the Wing and engines for too long with the way they move so much. I know that's how they are designed to do but man it would scare the hell out of me.
About 40 odd years ago, an engine fell off a DC 10. It created a lot of news. I happened to be flying in a DC 10 a week later or.so and I heard the lady behind me say to her husband that she had noticed the engine "shaking" from side to side. I think she was nervous.
Jynx Jynx I think your talking about flight 191 out of ohare in 1979. It crashed in a field just after take off when they lost an engine. It missed a mobile home park and several huge fuel tanks that were nearby. There were no survivors.
I flew a Qantas 747 flight from Melbourne to Sydney that was lightly loaded with pax and fuel. The flight was for positioning and coordinating transfers to other flights to the US west coast. It felt like a totally different aircraft when loaded lightly and had a verry short roll on the runway before rotating.
The engines don't look all that big when viewed out a cabin window but each one is as big as a Chevrolet Suburban... and produces as much power as 200 Suburbans. Massive, indeed.
The GE CF6-80C2 engine is still quieter than the Rolls Royce RB211-524 G/H version engines that Qantas first had on these aircraft. I remember both engines well, they were loud yes but not as loud as the CF6-50 or the rolls Royce RB211-524B both of those engines were very loud to say the least.
Just wondering if this is QF63 daily service to Johannesburg? It takes off around midday and, if departure is from 34L, does a wide turn south-west to track great circle over southern Indian ocean to SA. When I flew this in 1994, the 747 stopped in Perth for a refuel and landed in Harare, Zimbabwe (when it was technically still a viable destination). Now she flies direct.
The 777 (ditto the Airbus 350) carries nearly as many passengers and it's 50% more fuel efficient. That's why. Certainly not as good looking, tho. I'm guessing it'll carry on awhile as a freighter after it's retired from passenger service..lots of room inside that big boy.
I really hope Quantas follow suit like BA and KLM and keep the queens of the sky in service for as long as possible no matter of their fuel consumption compared to 777-300's and 787's, A350-1000's. We are loosing these girls from the worlds airlines at an alarming rate. My friend works in a boneyard/storage facility which I won't name but he's seen 17 747's arrive in 2020 already and since its only mid February that's a tragedy
Airplane engines can be very noisy espically during takeoff and landing also during those times the engines are about 105 db loud but during crusing altitude the noise drops to 85 db then during landing the noise goes back up to 105 db also it depends on what plane youre on
I think when they’re flying over residential areas like that they don’t throttle up any more than they have to so that they can keep the noise down. I bet if they gave it full throttle it would be incredibly loud.
Take off power, then noise abatement power reduction, then climb power. Also in a turn they power up some, then back to climb power again. It can vary quite a bit.
Thanks for watching! Have you liked the video and subscribed to the channel? They’re both FREE and do wonders in supporting us grow! Thank you!
Alot of people freak out when they power down the engines after takeoff. It's normal. They dont need all that power after takeoff. Impressive.
8:08 our sponsor for today.. Ikea!
Watching the Queen of the Sky will never get old ❤️
I almost freaked out by watching that last engine shaking up woahh!!! The quality is amazing
Love to hear it!
6:52 thank me later
Thnx
Alex's Flight Channel I’ll thank you now. That taxi out at Sir Kingsford Smith takes a while!
And, as those amazing engines are enclosed with clouds and then back to that view you realise how we take for granted these wonderful machines that take us around the world. I've been flying since 1967 and loved every journey I took.
To say I like this is an understatement! Blimey! That is one of the most awesome takeoff's I have ever seen. That sound - wow! Thank you!
Thanks so much Kate, lovely to have you part of the team!
During ascent, the relaxing sound of the engines spooling up some more...Priceless!
Indeed!
It's incredible how much the engines move around
Just waiting for them to snap off
They don’t it’s wing movement or flex … if it was ridged it would probably snap .
I liked the clicking camera in the background! It helps demonstrate that people love this majestic and amazing industry! No one's taking pictures of accountants doing their thing. ;)

Probably best not thinking about the weight of the engines and fuel located in the wings then lol
WOW that's so cool! It's a shame it's probably scrap now. Where were you flying too Tim? Love it
Yep all done and dusted sadly haha off to MEL! So a nice takeoff roll :P
Thanks beautiful flight ✈️ with you...................thanks again......and hello from Belgium 🇧🇪.........................🎖
7:27 somebody starting to fire a supressed uzi
Great shot of the slats !!!! Not everyone knows about that!!!😀😀😀😀✈✈✈✈✈✈🍺🍺🍺
Thank you!
🇬🇧🙋🏾♀️Epic 👌🏾Plus you got the best seat! 🙌🏾
Beautiful video..been there done that!
I flew on the Brisbane to Sydney retirement run....it was magic and a great way to say goodbye!😀😀😀
Easily the best take off video I have ever seen, thanks for the great job mate! Love from Toronto Canada
The 747-400 Rolls Royce RB211 tops it.
I love planes so I watch plane vids heaps and this is a good vid👍👍👍
Looks like IKEA figured out their store is on a flight path
Haha they have!
Dam! That wing has a lot of flex in it as well as the engines shaking side to side.
Ikr, I know they're designed to do that, but still scares the crap out of me, lol
That is normal
Capt_ CJ nah, it’s the air. Mainly

The best of the best of boeing 747= 400
Great watching the wing flex and engines wobble about :-)
It's always such a hypnotic sight isn't it? Thank you for your comments!
Thank Tim for sharing this awesome video. Good on you mate.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Philip!
Absolutely beautiful.
Eine sehr gute Aufnahme das beste Video für Starts. Ein Fach.unglaublich 🛩
There going through the fluffies☁️☁️🌫️ nice and soft!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Lufthansa provides the best 747 service
What a beautiful aerial view and a smooth takeoff! I wouldn't have said it was loud. Quite quiet to be honest! 👍😁
Flew Qantas 747 London - Darwin in 1997 - it was so exiting to me.
What i love about this flight is the amount of flexing on the wing and engines its a bit of a wibbly wobbly thing.
If it don't shake it's gonna brake!!

Nice day lovely clear vidio and see the pilots reducing thrust as they enter unstable air of cloud bank to minimize turbulence for passengers.👍👍👍
beautiful
747😍
The best!
12:20 i'm trying to visualise the length & size of this wing...the winglet at the end is 6ft high and i'm 5'4" tall...it's massive !
The engines don't look all that big when viewed out a cabin window but each one is as big as a Chevrolet Suburban... and produces as much power as 200 Suburbans. Massive, indeed.
That has got to be one of the most clearest take offs I have seen on video. What type of equipment are you using ?
Wow that is just crazy look much much the wings and engines shake and bend around!
the sounds at the beginning are so ASMR omg
anyone got an explanation for the fluctuation of thrust once they are up there ?
magnificent takeoff of the jumbo jet very flexible and silent enough to encourage someone to a photo shoot

Flew multiple RB211 birds in the past, wish I got a video like this one haha
best take off ever
Thank you!
I like it ❤️👍🏽
Thanks Rody!

Hey nah this was a domestic service to Melbourne hence the quick climb out. It was positioning for an Antarctica flight.
Magpie on board?
Haha it sounds like it!
Sounds like someone is on a typewriter 🤣🤣🤣
camera clicks
Oh ye xd
I hear that sound at 7:28 and you're right there it is
What is that crap?
Loved that machinegun Nikon going off and great video !
747 one of the best planes ..
The best airplane ever designed! Boeing shouldn’t stop making this plane; I really hope they don’t.

@@cll1639, I agree with you.
Awesome video!!
Thank you so much Andre!
Incredible wing flex..
Ffs could have watched the whole flight?...sounds amazing
It sounds as loud as tf39 now in this vid. Why not in others
Cool ! What a mighty machine !!! :)
É Lindo de Mais Maravilhoso Vídeo
Good video but surely taking screenshots is alot easier than the amount of camera clicking here
Haha well actually photography is my first hobby and QF747's were my passion so I couldnt help myself haha.
@@Sydsquad fair enough mate
the harmony of those engines........oh my~
Awesome View.
Beautiful smooth
Must be one of the rarer flights where they run b747 domestically. I flew on one from Perth to sydney in 2018.. was surprised but there it is.
Confused why a 747 got put at the domestic gate with Qantaslink?
Because QF435 is Sydney to Melbourne, thats a domestic hub to hub flight.
I really hope Quantas follow suit like BA and KLM and keep the queens of the sky in service for as long as possible no matter of their fuel consumption compared to 777-300's and 787's, A350-1000's. Nice video; thanks!
Sydney?
Beautiful view.......👍
Why am I hearing the trim wheels clicking back in seat 29A?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Was gonna subscribe but you on such an iconic number! '737'
Which engines? GE?
Yes
GE CF6
Why was a 747 departing from the Domestic terminal ?
Repositioning for an Antarctic scenic flight
0:56 Either the ground is not done being loaded or I’m tripping...
Your trippin
The Stealthy Assassin / TSA you didn’t get the joke 😂
Nice video mate. Subscribed!

Maulan Wong It's the best part! Especially takeoff
@@Sydsquad yep
Best part is landing on a rainy wet full of cross wind runway
Engines can be noisy? I didn't know that mate thanks

Very nice! 8A provides for a perfect view! What day was this flight?
It sure did mate! It was on Saturday the 9th of Feb
Ah yes. I think that aircraft is flying the opposite direction today.
@@paulstewart2ndchannel Actually OEJ is opperating the return domestic leg and OEG continued the MEL-HKG run :)
Ah riteo. Is that because a 787 is out of action?
@@paulstewart2ndchannel Sure is! 747 to the rescue! :)
Beautiful video i have ever seen
loud? powerful?
May I ask which flight this was and registration?
QF435 and VH-OEG my friend
Damn, this stuff is raja material
QF 747 domestic flight? from the domestic terminal? did think they still did those anymore?
the sound of camera in continuing shutting is beautiful (sorry mi bad english)
Was a great video till the camera clicking put me off :-/
Exactly
In. Take off run. It gets bumpy and makes a clicking sound
‼️Sensationell ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻‼️
nice m16 camera
Scotty we will be going to warp speed!
Excellent video, thanks. But NOT a particularly loud take off. You need an RB211 for that....
On videos the CF6 seems louder, although ive only been on a RB211 engine 747-400
Very nice vid
7:55 That Sounds Like KLM Boeing 747-400 How It Took Off After A Snowstrom In O'hare Airport
She was roaring mate!
All flight is with this sound of turbins?
Awesome sound! Very lucky to fly this on a domestic sector!! What seat were you in? The view is amazing!
Thanks legend! It was taken from the last row in Business, seat 8A in front of the L2 door. Hopefully we see more in their finals years!
NewYorkz Cheers! Hoping to be able to get a view like this on a QF 747 before they are gone
Perth Spotter I'm sure the opportunity will arise! Just gotta be ready to take it 🤙🏽
Which airport??
Because of the water, I'm guessing Sydney
N N it's all in the description old bean
@@Na5iR11 Definitely Sydney, you can see the control tower as they are taxiing. They took off from Runway 34L.
Great video, but effect spoiled by what sounds like loud camera shutter sounds
Great turbine sound without the cabin drone
Which camera did you use?\
can i use it in my video
No sorry i dont allow that im afraid
Why does the pilot reduce and increase the power?
Take off power, then noise abatement power reduction, then climb power. Also in a turn they power up some, then back to climb power again. It can vary quite a bit.
Trevor Jameson thank you sir..
Love the vid, camera sound like a machine gun is a bit off putting tho🤐
Those wings are so delicate.
