      It's a beast getting up there, but a definite bucket list. I went and bought 210/180mm rotors after this one though!!!

    Great ride, but maybe a bit short for the amount of work to get to the decent.
    Is this a multi use trail? Trail Forks doesn't seem to think so, but you said lots of bike do this? If not, then this might be too much work for the reward for me.

      I was trying to look this up but I can't find anything that officially says the summit is multi use. I have a friend in the forest service so I'm gonna check with him. While a ton of people bike the road up to baldy notch I have only seen bikers up at the summit twice in the 50+ times I have hiked the summit and camped on baldy. That descent is tough enough on foot, doing it on bike must have been nuts.

      This video is highly edited so doesn't even come close to the entire ride down. Mountain Biking is allowed on it but you won't find it on Trailforks because an extreme few will ride it because of the many hike-a-bike sections on the climb up.

    Did you guys go up the trail that passes the ski hut or did you simply ride the road that follows Chair 1 to the saddle then past Chair 4? I want to try this ride this summer and I would really like to make it a loop if possible.

    • @davidtuckerfm
      @davidtuckerfm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      he said in the beginning they took the road. given the fact that none of the ascent was recorded I'm guessing they might have taken the lifts up and then hike-a-biked the rest of the way up.

    • @jasoncapell
      @jasoncapell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We rode all the way up the road to the resort and over across Devil's backbone. After Devil's backbone there are a few hike-a-bike sections for sure!

      @@jasoncapell Thanks for this. How long did it take you? I never made it last year, I never felt fit enough. I'm going to try again when the snow is gone and I'm in good shape, maybe August/September.

      ski hut trail is all single track after the first mile or so of the fire road. he said in the beginning of the video they took the road up so I'm assuming the standard bike ascent which is either the fire road the whole way up to the notch or the lifts up to the notch.
