Amazing how the new modern road was trashed, but the original has held up so much better!
I love the fact the cobbles are still intact after probably 100 years and still useable
Also the fact a utility company just paid disregard when reinstating the cobbled support of the road surface.
Tarmacadam which is flexible will not sit on concrete or cobbles which are rigid for very long and deterioration or total failure will soon occur on that stretch of road.
