It was developed by a single developer; Jannis Brinkmann, featuring 25 custom mind-bending puzzle maps, brand new time-travel mechanics, a new soundtrack, and full voice acting.
I provided the Announcer voice lines for the game, but wasn't able to play the game until it released on April 19, so this is a blind playthrough and I had an absolute blast. It was a ton of fun to play, and really made use of my shriveled brain! I highly recommend the mod to all fans of Portal, or puzzle games in general!

1:06:07 I actually discovered an Easter egg in this section. If you fire a Portal on the wall where the turrets were, and fire another one on another surface so you can go through it, you'll find a Companion Cube sitting out of reach in the corner. Be sure to leave the second Portal open, though. Because the other side is blocked off by an invisible wall, and you'll softlock.
Come to think of it, a Test Chamber that revolves around carrying a Companion Cube, and having to keep up with it in both timelines sounds like it could have been fun...

You don't actually softlock! I am here years later but just found this secret myself and came to this video to see if he found it, evidently not. But you can actually portal to the other large room with the cube and get out with it.
When Harry is being rebel towards himself/the announcer, it's almost as if he is annoying himself. It's just funny, like dealing with a sassy child

@@Oyakinya-Izuki mmm well I would consider tag part of the portal series because there aren't even any portals so it would still be connected but not part of the portal franchise. Not sure about the time machine one though cus I've never seen or played it
Time Machine is pretty all-over the place, from what I could tell. The concept is interesting but the story is ludicrous. Aperture Tag is decent but not worth a 25 dollar price. I also don't think a sequel is even a good idea for the Portal franchise in-general. It's concluded, as far as I'm concerned.

I totally expected the test teleportation section at 5:44 to say something like, "This process is quite painless. Though some test subjects do scream and pass out - we presume this is due to excitement."
(That is actually true, there is a no-cloning proof that still allows rearrangement after death AKA teleportation)

I was doing the same while playing, but at the hour mark, that brain hurting level, I completely neglected the laser lol, I tossed the original on the first platform, grabbed the future one, placed it in the past/present button. Used the bridge to jump onto the first lift, pulled the original cube while hopping onto the second lift. Also doing some manuevery trickery on a level prior to it lol
BTW why are his graphics slightly different from everyone else ?

Well it doesn't seem like he was using his brain for that.
I just love the fact that despite looking like a regular let's play, this video is still very polished : Clean audio and neatly compressed, Great camera focus and quality, good denoising on the audio, themed background, cut audio to not overlap with voicelines, added effects like reverb when Harry acts as the character. I mean, it might seem like detail but it shows how much he cares when delivering content no matter the type. Thank you Harry, was a pleasure to discover this game with you :)

Technically, this is canon to the original duo. In The Part Where He Kills You in Portal 2, Wheatley asks you to come back after you've escaped. If you go back, after a while, he mentions a THREE-PORTAL DEVICE, the device in Portal Reloaded.
Also Cave Johnson mentions time travel in Portal 2
its great watching him pass the puzzles in a WAY easier way then what I did, mine were very complex

Harry, you never need to apologize for the time between videos. I can't imagine how much time and effort it takes to make the animations you do, but even I can tell it is quite the labour of love. Your videos are always "worth the wait," for either of your channels. (I still occasionally go back and rewatch some of your "lets plays.")

well they're simplifying it a little
technically you should be able to bring a past cube to the future. so long as the future version of that cube isn't in the future it doesn't violate causality.
I love thinking about time travel so I like to think I've become rather well versed in how it works.
I think that they made it so you can't bring a past cube to the future to make the puzzle solving process a little more streamlined. so you aren't thinking of past cubes going to the future as it wouldn't be that useful, at least not nearly as useful as bringing a future cube to the past, essentially ending up with two cubes.
if you are lost I'd like to try and help you to figure it out. I'm not a genius or anything so I might not be able to help explain it but I'd like to try if you want me to.

@@boredhuman6512 the Vsauce channels (particularly Vsauce 3) have great videos on time travel and paradoxes (Vsause 3's videos Three Time Travel Paradoxes, Causal Loop, and The Paradox Paradox are great there's also a video by minutepysics called Time Travel in Fiction Rundown which goes over different kinds of time travel. because of course there's more than one kind of time travel)

It's interesting how much different his thought process is when solving these puzzles compared to my own. I had to sit back and think about some of these for at least a few minutes, sometimes half an hour for the later ones before starting to solve it. He just goes in, tries a bunch of stuff and then ends up solving it in like two minutes lmao.

I'm happy that the mods are still being developed, even if they're not very story-based. The timey-wimey-wibbly-wobbly feature is truly brain-bending. Also, Harry's back! I love his jokes.
The writing in this is so great, really fits the same sense of humor as Portal

First off, kudos on the voice acting! If Valve ever gets around to make an official Portal 3, they better bring you on board for something!
Portal Reloaded absolutely scrambled my brain and I LOVED it. Jannis sure deserves a good job somewhere if he(?) doesn't have one already.
There were a couple of chambers here and there when I had to consult your playthrough for little hints, but I was thrilled to solve most of them on my own. I ended up solving the last portion of the final chamber differently as I thought the idea of having the cube soar through that white panel facing you at the end was a devious fake-out, so I played catch with the excursion funnel and eventually got it in the right place to carry it over gently. Then all you have to do is go to the future, grab the other cube, drop it over the edge on your left, and play some more catch with excursion funneling. It's a slower solution, but it works -- and it's cool to see for at the least the final chamber that there is more than one way to skin a cube.
The only mechanics missing from Portal 2 in this mod were the gels. I wonder if maybe they got cut for time or if they just didn't jive with the time traveling mechanic. I could imagine puzzles where you have to pour gel in the present in order for it to appear in the future or something, but I could also imagine that if you poured gel in a spot where it didn't belong or did something in the wrong order that it'd be a pain in the ass to wash 'em away with a water button over and over.
That was super cool! I love seeing how you approached the puzzles, makes me realize I made some things way more complicated than they needed to be, haha
I'm glad you did the voice for this, it really added so much to the world and made it feel like more than just a mod! I honestly consider this Portal 3, this was so cool and mind-bending to play, Jannis did an incredible job, like how could it get any better than this, haha

When the zombies are coming for the test subject at the end, I actually think they survived.
In the building just before exiting, you can see an ammo crate on the left-hand side near the other wooden boxes. On top of that is also a health/small ammo box as well.

Man :D I've been playing this for the past month, every day I've done like 1-2 levels, my brain wasn't capable of accomplishing more. How should I feel watching you to complete whole gameplay in 1 and half hour. :D Brilliant!
And funfact - there were several tasks I did the completely different (more, or less complicated) way, so there are several slightly different ways of completing some levels which makes this mod even more amazing.
