Jacking up a Skidsteer for Track Removal

- Here's a little video showing how I jack up my skidsteer for track removal. When you take the tracks off these machines, you don't want them too high off the ground as the weight of the tracks hanging will make them tighter against the sprocket and idler. You only need enough space for the teeth on the tracks to pass under the rollers. To see how to remove the tracks, click on the link at the end of this video. Thanks for watching!

If anyone does this with a door on and use the bucket to lift the machine make sure the hydraulics don't settle to a point where you can't open the door. I have seen someone that just curled the bucket down to lift the front up and the boom settled instead of the bucket and they almost weren't able to get the door open. This is by far the safer and smarter way to do it. Great video as always.
+steffan sedore Funny you should say that as it happened to me one time a few years ago. I had to use a broomstick through the side window to flip down the seat bar, push the buttons to start and operate the machine, then move the joystick to lift the machine back up so I could open the door. I would have had to go through the back window if that didn't work.

A floor jack works fine.
