F600 Hook Lift One Year Review | I Rank this a... Check out this 1 year old review video we have rented a good amount of roll off dumpsters with this truck! Consulting Calls: calendly.com/d...
Really enjoying the 6.7 in my f600. I have longer grades and a longer trip to the dump where I'm at in Southern California. Downfall, diesel is around 6.29. Gas is about a buck cheaper
A lot of guys are leaving the diesel and going back to gas. The cost of repairs and maintenance on a diesel lift pump injection pump. DEF always problems with the DEF system be very, very leery about getting a diesel. And a lot of parts are back ordered for diesel. Just a word of warning from my experience.
The problem with the diesel nowadays is not necessarily the DEF fuel it's all the downtime because the system constantly breaks down. And you can't manually regen when you want to.
Thanks for the review. I am in the 2nd year and running an older F-550 and F-650 I love the maneuverability of the 550 but the 650 has a CAT and an Allison and if seems like it is a much more durable / commercial truck. I am looking to upgrade to a F-600 26,000 gvwr diesel in the next year or two. I agree on your 4x4 being a requirement
Just starting out and need something to move my tb257fr weighs 12700k would the f650 with cat do it and would the hook system allow me to safely load it or is the angle to much?
What size dumpsters are you able to fit on that chassis? What is the length and height I currently just have the trailer set up but didn't know if my current boxes would fit on that kind of chassis.
Would have loved to have got f-600 but they aren’t shipping diesels to canada so we now have 2 international CV hopefully on our replacements the diesels will be available for us
Heath great review! You definitely have it dialed in. I was thinking about getting a trailer….Decided against it definitely want to go hooklift next year…doing the Diesel
@@toma1642with a 12’ bin on our chassis there would only be a few inches of overhang. We have never tried towing since our bins are 14’ but 12 should be fine
The standard fuel tank should be a rear tank, midship fuel tanks are an option and generally have a smaller capacity. When we build these, we use a different style of lights, plate holder and bumper for Class 5 chassis. Looks like the dealer here just reused the OEM lights. If you want a cleaner look, I'd probably look at putting a small cross box behind the cab to store the shovel, broom, wood, etc. The biggest issue with jumping from a Class 5 truck to something larger tends to be the transmission. You can move up to an SL240 or something, on a 33,000GVW but you'll need to upgrade to an Allison 3XXX series transmission, the 2XXX won't let you have hydraulic power when you are creeping or moving slowly. It is a pretty costly upgrade to get a little more power.
what is the weight of the truck and empty box? How much weight of trash can you haul? In other words how many lbs payload can you haul, not including the weight of the dumpster?
To be honest with you with the added price of the diesel engine and the cost of diesel fuel where I'm at being higher and the way that California is on the diesel mission laws I've been moving my fleet more towards gasoline trucks. I do have to agree with that the power of the diesel engines is a lot better but I don't know if it's really worth the extra $10000 For the engine and dealing with all California laws on the diesel trucks now.
Thank you! We purchased the truck in Ohio and the Hooklift body in PA from Hale Trailer. We completed the upfit here locally. Bins are Bucks and Friesens
It's not easy lot's of people are doing this now I'm lucky to put out 70 boxes a year bigger companies are getting all the work it's hard to match there pricing
Yeah I almost got an F-600 hooklift but went with the Chevy 5500 medium duty truck and I love it; considering I’m a Ford guy! I do like the 11 mpg but I hate I got the 2 wheel drive. When you said you don’t have a lot of equipment I’ve always wonder how you’ve been so successful only running 15yd containers. Do you believe you’d be able to grow into a multiple truck setup in your market? Nonetheless keep going brother and let me know when I can get on a episode of trash talk! #MBRTRASH
Send me an email!! Yeah I think we could grow into 20s and 30s and do more large truck work but I am not sure if /when we will take that leap honestly I try to build brand and relationships over everything else
@@lakechamplainsanitation totally agree but I was generally speaking currently. Like your market doesn’t request 20yd containers? I had Bucks build all my 36’ hook 20yd and they my most popular rental. I was just wondering, regardless we know your still killing it. Sending email now!
Any problems with the Chevy at all? I'm thinking of getting the Chevy 6500!!! Is the 5500 and 6500 close in dimensions? What CA is yours and what hooklift system you got?
I love my 2021 F600 with the 6.7 Diesel we put on 97,000 kms from our first year of having it and its been a great truck !
Awesome!
Awesome review! Enjoyed the thoroughness and detail you provide. I think this is the perfect use case for the 7.3 gasser.
You did it again Heath! keep these coming brotha 🤙🏾
Thank you !
Definitely gas is a maintenance saver now with Def issues , fuel costs , upfront more cost to purchase initially .

How are you liking it so far? Any problems at all? What hooklift system you got and what CA?

Your videos are very interesting. I watch them all the time. It's good information.
Thank you!!
What is the biggest bin u can carry in the f600

Thanks for watching we have considered an F650 down the road
Ford hasn't used cat in f650 in over 15 years. Current is 6.7 Ford. Previous is Cummins 6.7 . Also f 600 is only 22500 gvw not 26k .

I looked at the CV they look like a nice truck heavy duty for sure!
@@lakechamplainsanitation yes they have held up good so far both of ours are 2020 and have nearly 200k on them already lol
Heath great review!

Awesome Scott!! Thanks for all the continued feedback!
Thanks for putting all this real information out there
Good review. Debating on a trailer setup or similar to this f600. Appreciate the content!
Thank you!
What is the cab to axle measurements on your truck?
State police was wrong still need plate light. Will fail inspection
What’s the biggest bin u can put in that truck
I have seen 20YD containers on the F600 but we run 15s
Hey appreciate your videos.
How much is the overhang when hauling a 12ft bin?
Could you tow a trailer as well or is the overhang to much?

My Backup camera is a lifesaver.

Very helpful thank you sir just one question would you rather have a 54" or is 36" just fine?
The 36” works fine for this little truck. If it was taller/bigger I think 54” would be better
Can you haul 20 yard dumpsters with this truck?
Great video. Curious about how you finance your trucks. Or if you do, just went through the process myself
I have done both! Answer to your question will be in the next video!
Can’t believe it’s been a year already!
Time flies!
How have you been doing oil changes
what is the weight of the truck and empty box? How much weight of trash can you haul? In other words how many lbs payload can you haul, not including the weight of the dumpster?
Roughly 4.5 ton

I totally agree and I should have mentioned that all the emissions changes are only going to make diesel harder to operate
You should put some dot tape on that bumper
Great video!
Who do you buy your trucks from? Same for dumpsters?
Thank you in advance sir!

Good Shit man .. Congrats on the truck..looking at this truck #newsub
great video... good job
Are you thinking about selling it soon?? Is be interested!!
What's the payload on the truck
do you know for the f550/600 platform the 36" hook is the only option or can you get the 36/54?
You should be able to get an adjustable 36/54
Love me some Stewart’s coffee!
Do you need a cdl with the f600?
Nope
Any idea what the truck weighs empty with dumpster???
Roughly 14,000
If I am just starting out, would this truck and 5 bins be worth it?
This is a large investment for sure. Definitely a lot to consider before diving in best thing to do is research the true need in your market first.
It's not easy lot's of people are doing this now I'm lucky to put out 70 boxes a year bigger companies are getting all the work it's hard to match there pricing
What length of dumpsters can you haul?
14’
Love video

putting tread tires on the front can cause death wobble.
what length and size can you do?
14’
What kind of MPG does the 7.3 get ?
We’ve averaged 7.5 mpg
Around 33k a year
how many bns you have?
10 dumpsters
What size dumpsters do you run on them?
^^^
was about to ask the same question lol
Ford 80s and the 90s All day...baby Kenworth is The only Way to go..you pay More and they hold their value. Try one and you Will never look back....
Time for a supercharger... for science.
That engine does not belong in a heavy duty dump truck. I’ll never be convinced to switch to gasser.
Any thoughts on the international CV515 14ft?
I test drove a compactor version it was pretty nice but I haven't ever seen a hooklift version in person
