    That's a good point about remembering that if people are following a business on social media, then they do so expecting to be sold to. Sometimes I've felt very frustrated because I hear gurus saying not to just sell all the time on your socials, but then I follow certain businesses (and I enjoy following them!) who literally post nothing but their products and info about their products, and that's fine with me because I'm following them because I want to buy from them, learn about their stuff, learn when they have new stuff, or are planning a sale, etc etc etc. So.... Maybe I just need to imitate them with my own account instead of listening to the gurus that tell me not to sell my stuff!

    • @KimBliss
      @KimBliss  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That absolutely works if that's all they do because then the audience knows what to expect.
      I think it's not such a great idea if you post other stuff too though (like I do). In that case, going through phases of constant selling can be jarring to an audience who are used to other content too.
      You know your audience and business best, so whichever route you feel is the best fit for you will be the right choice. Sod what anyone else says, (and I include myself in that!) 😄💚

    Great ideas! I was just playing with my website trying to make it better organized and attractive. Not my favorite thing, I’d much rather be making pots, but it needs to be done. You are right on so many points. I am going back to my email list as well. Thank you!!!!!!!!! 🙏 😊

    Great suggestions, Kim. Love the prospect of things passing like a kidney stone 😆 It does feel like that. I've been utilising the Etsy bundle thing they released recently. I haven't had any sales from it (yet) but I do think it is a good idea from Etsy - for once 😀

    Did you mention videos? 😂 Well, it doesn't always have to be a video, reel or live. But it's a good idea to do something brave. Something unusual, different, instead of remaining rigid and fearful. Unfortunately, I do that far too often when I'm worried. But when I start playing, being creative, challenging myself, I regain my strength. This is not easy and often takes time. But it's worth it. ❤

    • @KimBliss

      Oh absolutely! I just talk about video content a lot because it's one of the best way to promote online right now. Also, I'm a little biased. 😄

    Hello and thank you for the videos - I'm sold on them 😁just starting and always take away something. As it happens I've just had my first review today, NEED to work on how I've promoted it so far! 🤣
    Do you have a rough timeline for ditching items that don't sell? - attempting to take in seasonal trends and having tried to promote on social media and the rest ...?

    • @KimBliss
      @KimBliss  16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey 👋 and thanks for watching along!
      It's funny you should ask about how long before you ditch something that's not selling because the video I'm working on for next week is about exactly that!
      It will depend though and you'll need to ask yourself some questions before you write off a product completely. I could go on but I'd have nothing to talk about on Monday! Keep an eye out for it though. 😉

  • @KatrinaTapio
    @KatrinaTapio วันที่ผ่านมา

    "People don't like being sold to" - False! I have worked in sales a lot and as long as you are not rude or pushy, and actually believe in your products and think you're giving them a good deal, they will love being sold to! You're doing them a service, a favor! If you sell things right, they will walk away smiling and look forward to coming back, feeling that you really helped them out. Don't be afraid to sell, people want to know about the good deals and high quality, unique products! They don't want to miss out just because you're a bit shy. Show us what you got!! ❤

    • @KimBliss
      @KimBliss  18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Mmmm, I disagree with this. It will completely depends on factors like the platform you're trying to sell on, the user's intent there and if the people are already following you or if you're cold selling to someone etc etc.
      There are a lot of times when people *don't* want to be sold to and a good sales person will know the difference. 😉

    Hello Kim
    Great videos. You always give such a refreshing perspective.
    Question, have you ever rented shelf space anywhere to retail your handmade items? What are your thoughts about this?
    Thank you in advance

    • @KimBliss
      @KimBliss  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Cheers Gloria! 😁
      Regarding the shelf space, I did a long time ago, but didn't stick with it in the end. With hindsight the store I went with probably wasn't the best choice as they catered to tourists/holiday makers and the things they sold reflected that so I only sold my small accessories and trinkets there.
      If you can find somewhere that compliments the work your make well though then I'd imagine it could work out really well. 💚

      @@KimBliss thank you for your swift reply . I'm actually thinking of going to local independent haberdashery retailers to ask if I can 'rent a basket', the type you often see full of 'stuff' on the actual shop floor people can rifle through.
      Question 2 😅, what single task do you wish you had more time to do that you strongly believe could 'move the needle' in your business to hit your monthly profit goal consistently.
      With you having to home school your daughter now, something must have had to give ?

    • @KimBliss
      @KimBliss  16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @gloriafrancis7621 This is such a great question, I'm sat here on the sofa and have been wondering how best to answer it! The truth is there are actually loads of things I wish I had more time for that I think would help move the needle forward.
      I'd like to have more time to actually *make* things. Sometimes it feels as though I'm pulled away from that more than I'd like. I'd also like more time to make content on social media, to work on my website and take better photos. I'd even like more time to work on my videos as that can feel rushed sometimes.
      The homeschooling is definitely changing things and I expect I'll have to drop something at some point. I'm just not sure what just yet.
      Sorry for the waffle, but I told you it was a good question! 😁💚

    I have just created new listings with no collages for Etsy. We shall see how they do compared to the originals.

    • @KimBliss
      @KimBliss  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think it's all about showing up in Google search rather than anything Etsy themselves want. Do you tend to get a lot of traffic feom Google via Etsy? If so then the new photos may do well! 🤞

      @@KimBlissyeah google appears to be the main driver. I had a few digital products go viral. It kind of ruined my shop. Costs me nothing to keep both listings but I may redo some others to be more attractive on Google.
